The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 75: Chapter 75: Sit Tight, Madam Tai Is Driving

Are there tricks for having a daughter, what tricks?

As soon as Song Ci said this, not only were Jiang and the others dumbfounded, but even Lin Qing was quite curious.

She spent a short time with the Madam of the Prime Minister’s Mansion and found her very interesting, with a bit of an old rascal vibe. It is said that the Prime Minister’s Mansion comes from a poor family, and the Madam is an uneducated village woman who learned to read the characters she knows while supervising her eldest son’s studies. She doesn’t have any great wisdom.

But this Madam occasionally says things that make perfect sense to her, things she’s never heard of, like immunity and resistance, and now, can there be tricks to having a child?

Lin Qing is a doctor, and even she couldn’t assertively claim that having a child requires some tricks, so of course, she was curious upon hearing there are tricks.

In the room, apart from a few daughters-in-law, there were some maids and servants.

Song Ci’s few maids were unmarried, and after hearing the Madam’s words, they were a bit embarrassed, thinking if they should step out for a bit.

”You all should listen too, sooner or later you might find it useful, just don’t spread the words outside this room.” Song Ci said with a chuckle.

”Mother, what is the trick exactly?”

Song Ci took a sip of tea to moisten her throat and said, ”Having a child is about the right timing and conditions, although it may not be completely accurate, there are patterns to follow. For example, your menstrual cycle, on the first day it’s about to start, you have to calculate the days...”

She briefly talked about calculating the safe period.

Everyone was a bit intrigued, is there such a thing?

”... The chances of getting pregnant are higher during these days, so make sure to seize them. Of course, this applies to those with regular menstrual cycles, not for irregular ones. If your period comes on fixed days every month, you can calculate it this way.”

Jiang was a bit anxious and said, ”Mother, can calculating what you call the ovulation period really help in having a daughter?”

”Of course not, this just tells you the days to increase the chances of getting pregnant. If you want to have a daughter, both you and your husband need to adjust your diet. You should eat more meat and acidic foods, like chicken, beef, wheat, peanuts, egg yolks, persimmons, and sweets... it’s too much to remember at once, I’ll write it down for you later. Your man should eat lighter, such as milk, flour, tea, seaweed, green beans, red beans, bean curd, mushrooms, loquats...”

Song Ci rattled off the lines she once remembered.

Luckily, she had acted in such a script before as a gynecologist, with just such a scene discussing the matters of having boys or girls, and remembering the lines nearly twisted her brain off.

Later on, she even Googled it, and in fact, whether you have a boy or girl really depends on the man, but through dietary adjustments, although not 100%, there is a good chance of success.

”Mother, if having a daughter has so many considerations, then what about having a son?” Madam Song was a bit eager, she recalled that before she was pregnant with Qian’er and the others, she frequently ate meat.

”Then you just do the opposite.” Song Ci said, ”You need to eat what a man should eat when trying to have a daughter, and the man, there is a seafood called oysters, you can have them brought over, Quanzhou is near the sea, there should be plenty of seafood.”

Song Ci thought for a moment and then chuckled mischievously, ”Actually, besides food, there is something else very important.”

”What is it?”

”It’s about the position when you are together, if you want a girl, do it like this...”

Song Ci spoke vividly about it, completely unaware of how red the listeners’ faces had become like ripe shrimp, nor did she notice Nanny’s astonished expression beside her.
