The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 74: Chapter 74: Yellow and Violent, A Direct Hit to the Heart

The request from Madam Jiang, specifically about taking her pulse, was readily accepted by Lin Qing, who asked several questions and then withdrew her hand.

”Madam, you seem to have residual blood clots after a miscarriage, which have accumulated in the womb. That’s why your menstrual cycle is irregular, and you might even feel coldness and distension in your womb,” said Lin Qing.

Madam Jiang looked slightly gloomy and said, ”To be honest, Doctor Lin, I’ve consulted the renowned gynecologist Doctor Liu from the Imperial Hospital. I’ve taken many prescriptions but nothing seems to happen.”

Lin Qing smiled faintly, ”The arrival of children is a matter of fate, but it’s crucial to balance your body first. Madam, you are still young now. In a few years, the coldness will deepen, and your complexion will become sallow.”

Madam Jiang smiled, ”Indeed, I already have a son, which satisfies both the Song Family and my husband. However, in my heart, I secretly wish for a daughter. Whether I get one is my fortune, if not, it is my fate.”

”Just keep a normal heart,” Lin Qing put away the medicine pillow and said, ”Send me the prescription Doctor Liu gave you, and I’ll consider if there’s a need to adjust it. After you take a few doses, I’ll give you a few acupuncture sessions to see if we can clear the residual blood clots in your womb.”

”Thank you, Doctor Lin. If I truly have a daughter, I’ll set up a longevity tablet for you and worship it every day,” Madam Jiang said joyfully.

Lin Qing laughed, ”There’s no need for that.”

Madam Jiang looked at Sister-in-law Lu, ”Do you want Doctor Lin to take a look at you?”

”Let’s all take a look, fighting tigers needs brothers by your side. In Su’er’s generation, there are only four males, not even enough for a gang fight,” Song Ci said.

For a country, the most important asset is its people. With people, the country can operate and manage many things. Therefore, a populous society is extremely important. Otherwise, there wouldn’t even be enough soldiers, and once faced with warfare, won’t they just be trampled by enemy nations?

Similarly, for a family to thrive, it also needs to flourish and multiply. A prosperous family population is crucial. In this era, having only one male child means that if something unfortunate happens, the family is doomed.

Hence, give birth as much as you can. It’s not like we can’t afford to raise them. The most important thing is a prosperous family lineage.

Sister-in-law Lu forced a smile. Even if she recuperated well, what’s the use? Her husband isn’t by her side, and just by herself, she can’t conceive.

”Mother, do I still need to?”

Song Ci just remembered that her husband is not around, so she said, ”What’s wrong with balancing your body? Feeling comfortable is key. Besides, when your husband returns to the capital for his duties, you two can reunite. It’s like training soldiers for a thousand days to use them for one moment. Opportunity favors those who are prepared. You need to be ready to strike successfully. How can you expect to conceive immediately after treatment? Lin Qing is not the Fertility Goddess to wave a willow branch and send a baby into your belly.”

Pfft.

Lin Qing almost burst out laughing.

Madam Song glanced calmly at her two blushing sisters-in-law. Did you feel the ferocity? The matriarch’s words were raw yet powerful, striking directly at the heart.

Song Ci’s words were blunt but logical. If Sister-in-law Lu refused again, it would seem ungrateful. Blushing, she extended her hand for Lin Qing to take her pulse.

Her condition was actually better than her two sisters-in-law. She’s young, and it’s just a matter of fate not conceiving yet.

Sister-in-law Lu heaved a sigh of relief. As long as there’s no problem, it’s good. Yet thinking about her solitude, she couldn’t help but feel a pang of melancholy.

”Madam Jiang, do you really want a daughter? Let me give you a tip,” Song Ci said, looking at Madam Jiang.
