The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 65: Chapter 65: The Good Fortune of Raising a Daughter Who is a Doctor

Song Ci, comfortably reclining on the chaise longue, let out a long sigh. This body, indeed, is old and weak; after just a short outing, she felt utterly exhausted.

”Here as well, give it a little massage.” Song Ci pointed to her calf, directing the young maid kneeling next to her, massaging her legs.

”Yes, Madam.”

Seeing the young maid with big eyes and twin buns, holding a small hammer so obediently, Song Ci couldn’t help but feel a touch of guilt.

In just a few days, she had mastered the air of an influential person, able to unhesitatingly command the young maid to serve her.

”Have Nanny grab a handful of candies for you later; it’s hard work massaging my legs,” Song Ci said with a smile, lightly patting the maid’s forehead.

The young maid, named Shi Liu, responded with a smile, eyes curved like crescents, ”Thank you, Madam, it is my honor.”

Nanny lifted the curtain and entered, curtsying to Song Ci, ”Madam, the lady of the house is here to greet you.”

”Let her in.”

Prime Minister’s wife walked in, smiling as she paid her respects to Song Ci, and inquired with concern, ”Mother, are you tired after going out?”

”Tired, indeed I am, but I still want to go out again next time. After exploring the capital, I’ll visit the outskirts, even farther places,” said Song Ci.

The lady’s smile faltered for a moment but quickly blossomed again, ”It’s wonderful that Mother has this interest. Next time, I shall accompany you.”

Well, after her illness, the old lady’s temperament and even her behavior had changed. Previously, she disliked going out; now she always wanted to go out, even far away.

How strange. What kind of illness made the old lady this unusual? Could it be that she feels she doesn’t have much time left and wants to see more of the outside world?

The lady of the house felt a bit anxious, ”Mother, the Prime Minister and I have discussed inviting a female physician to the residence, specifically to care for your health. I’ve asked my family to find one, and now we have. This physician comes from the renowned Lu Family of medical practitioners, highly skilled. Would you like to meet her?”

”A female physician?”

”Yes, Mother, your illness truly frightened us. Having a female physician attend to you regularly to adjust your health would greatly ease our minds, Mother...”

The lady, fearing Song Ci might overthink, was prepared to persuade her further.

”What a great idea! Quickly, invite her over to check my pulse and see what other ailments I may have,” Song Ci eagerly interrupted her.

In ancient times, modesty between men and women prevailed, yet most physicians were male. Many women dared not speak of their afflictions to a male doctor, and prescriptions lacked precision. Having a female physician is naturally better.

Song Ci was not the original owner; she had the mindset of a young person. Being stuck in this elderly body was frustrating. If she had a choice, she would of course want a healthy body to run, sleep well, and be beautiful.

Thus, the lady’s concerns were unnecessary. Song Ci herself was very willing to restore her body to good health, even dreaming of becoming a captivating matron.

The lady did not expect her to be so compliant and willing, and felt great joy, hastily summoning Lin Qing over.

Lin Qing had long heard that Song Ci had returned to the residence, had changed into clean, gentle attire, and was waiting to be summoned. Seeing the person who came to fetch her was Song Ci’s personal nanny from the palace, esteemed and ranked, she paid her respects very courteously.

Song Ci, upon seeing Lin Qing’s age, her complexion, and her slender, healthy figure, felt as if she had swallowed a lemon, sour beyond measure.

This was the age and physique she yearned for deeply.
