The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 66: Chapter 66: No Comparison, No Harm

When being scrutinized by Song Ci, Lin Qing rarely felt a bit at a loss.

Did she see it wrong? How come it seemed like she saw, uh, envy in Madam’s eyes?

Madam also felt awkward, just staring at someone like that; she cleared her throat and said, ”Mother, don’t look at Doctor Lin’s young age, this medical skill she started learning from a young age.”

Song Ci: ”I didn’t say anything.”

Madam: ”...”

”Doctor Lin.” Song Ci blurted out, then felt something was wrong, so she corrected herself: ”Doctor Lin, come over and take my pulse. I’m not hoping to live to become an immortal witch, just hoping this broken old body can be a bit lighter, suffer a bit less, that would be a blessing.”

Lin Qing smiled, finding Madam’s conversation quite witty, she seemed like a rather easygoing person.

”If Madam trusts me, I’ll do my utmost.” She stepped forward and sat on a small stool. Sang’er, with a medicine box on her back, opened it and took out a medicinal pillow.

Taking the chance, Song Ci and the others glanced over; the medicine box was layered, filled with quite a few bottles and jars, and also a moon-white brocade cloth pouch.

Hong You stepped up to help Song Ci roll up a sleeve and exposed her wrist. Watching Sang’er place the medicine pillow down, Song Ci then laid her hand on it.

Lin Qing extended her hand, took a slight breath, and her slender fingers rested on Song Ci’s pulse.

Seeing this, Song Ci couldn’t help but wail inwardly, oh, there’s no harm without comparison.

Look at those fingers, like green onions, while hers were like withered branches, such a stark contrast, it hurt her heart.

”Madam, please calm yourself.” Lin Qing was unsure why Madam was suddenly emotional.

Song Ci awkwardly smiled: ”Doctor Lin, your fingers are really beautiful, as tender as spring onion shoots, unlike mine, like withered branches.”

Lin Qing’s fingers trembled, following her gaze, she smiled heartily: ”Madam, in the future, these spring onion fingers of mine will also become withered branches.”

”You’re so eloquent, I’ve been comforted.”

Lin Qing’s lips curled slightly, she composed herself: ”Madam, please refrain from speaking further, otherwise I can’t properly feel your pulse.”

Everyone: ”...”

This doctor is indeed bold, daring to command a Madam.

Song Ci then said nothing, allowing Lin Qing to take her pulse on the wrist, from left to right, for quite a while before she withdrew her fingers.

”How is it?” Madam is the most concerned.

Song Ci is also concerned about her own body, looking at Lin Qing with bright eyes.

”Madam’s condition, I assume the Imperial Hospital’s dean has already mentioned, a stroke is most common among the elderly. The first time Madam was lucky, with no significant effects. If it happens again, paralysis and speech loss are mild outcomes, while the severe ones might be...” Lin Qing paused briefly.

Madam felt quite uneasy hearing this, was it necessary to be this clear?

”I know, stroke is a big issue, and it can’t be completely cured, maintaining a cheerful mood is important. Just tell me, can this body of mine be saved even a bit?” Song Ci asked.

No one has seen more of strokes than she has, from severe cases to sudden cerebral infarctions leading to death, much like the original owner. So maintaining a happy mood and reducing anger is always essential.

Lin Qing was very surprised and delighted, this Madam seemed like someone who understood the situation.

”Madam, you have accumulated various strains from the past, coupled with irregular living habits, unbalanced diet, worries, and excessive fatigue, it can be said that you have worn your body out early. The five organs are gradually becoming deficient, it’s already a body with remnants of yin and yang. I don’t dare boast about restoring you to your former self, as after all, I’m just a doctor, not a deity, can’t turn back time, nor cure aging. If you’re willing to listen to me, I can at least ensure you live more comfortably for a few years, and that is something I can accomplish.”
