The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 68: Chapter 68: Who is the Benefactor Who Helps Overcome the Tribulation

Songshan Temple.

Under a five-hundred-year-old apricot tree, there is a stone table, a chessboard, a censer of incense, two cups of tea, and two people sitting cross-legged on the ground.

”I lost again.”

A man dressed in simple blue robes, with an exceptionally refined demeanor, looked at the chessboard with some regret as he withdrew his hand. He looked at the youthful monk with a clean and handsome face sitting across from him and sighed, ”Master Jinghui’s chess skills are exquisite, Yunzhi is far from matching them.”

If outsiders were present, they would surely be astonished to see such a scene, where the mighty Prime Minister of a country addresses a monk of an age that could be his son as an equal, and with particular respect.

However, if one recognized this young monk, it would naturally seem justified, for he was Master Jinghui, who was surrounded by a holy Buddha light at birth, considered the reincarnation of the Saint Buddha. He entered the monastery at the age of three, wise and eager to learn from a young age, acquainted with all schools of thought. Although only twenty-two years old, he had traveled extensively across the Great Qing, giving lectures and debates, with countless followers, and was granted the title of Master Jinghui by the royal family, also the National Guardian Monk of the Great Qing Country.

Jinghui, with his elegant brows and eyes, picked up the black chess pieces with his slender, fair fingers and placed them back in the chess cup. Hearing Song Zhiyuan’s words, he looked at Song Zhiyuan and smiled gently, ”Merely an elegant pastime for self-entertainment. The Prime Minister worries about the country and the people, Jinghui is far from matching this.”

Song Zhiyuan was speechless; this was just how he was, always able to counter your words with a single remark.

He sipped his tea and looked at Jinghui, saying, ”Master, you once prophesied that my Song Family would face a calamity that could destroy our home and family. Does this refer to my mother’s severe illness? Now, my mother has regained consciousness, and her physical strength is gradually improving. Has the calamity you spoke of been overcome?”

Jinghui smiled faintly, ”Do not worry, Prime Minister, your household’s calamity will have a noble person to aid in crossing it. That noble person has already arrived; you need only maintain your original intention.”

”Who might that noble person be?”

Jinghui smiled without answering, merely returning the pieces to the cup. He glanced at the sky and said, ”Prime Minister, the sky is about to darken, and the mountain path at night is not easy. You should descend the mountain.”

Song Zhiyuan: ”...”

The only one who dared to usher him out was this young monk.

He knew there would be no more answers, so he stood up and gave Jinghui a solemn bow.

Jinghui stood, placed his hands together, and slightly bowed to him.

”Master, Yunzhi takes his leave.” Song Zhiyuan stepped back two steps and turned to leave.

”Prime Minister, do not forget your original intention, only then can you achieve your will.” Jinghui’s voice came from behind: ”The Prime Minister is pure and filial, suitable for everything.”

Song Zhiyuan felt a stir in his heart and slightly turned back, only to see Jinghui had already turned around, walking towards his small hut in the woods, soon disappearing from sight.

With doubts in mind, Song Zhiyuan got into the carriage to return to the residence, entering the city just as the gate was about to close and soon returning home.

Madam Song came forward to remove his coat and smiled as she recounted the background of Lin Qing and the fact that she had entered the household.

Song Zhiyuan paused in untangling his collar buttons, ”What did you say? The female physician has already entered the household?”

Such a coincidence, could it be that the person the master spoke of, who could help the Song family overcome the calamity, was this female physician Lin Qing?

Madam Song, puzzled by his astonishment, nodded, ”Yes, today she has met with mother, and mother agreed to let her attend. She should be administering acupuncture to mother now.”

Song Zhiyuan stopped what he was doing, ”I will go pay respects to mother.”

He needed to see if that person was indeed the noble individual for the Song family.

Madam Song was stunned, looking at him as he put his outer clothes back on without a backward glance and walked out of the main room.

She frowned slightly, feeling a vague sense of unease.
