I AM the Football Star

Chapter 149: Chapter 58: Losing Isn’t Scary, Whoever Plays Is Embarrassed

Honestly, if Sofia wasn’t being spun around by Lu Yang and had her hands free, she would definitely have slapped Lu Yang on the face.

The queue of people chasing after me stretches all the way to the Pacific Ocean, and you want to talk to me about turf, football, and Morici?

To hell with Morici!

Can’t this person just disappear?

How many happy moments has he ruined for me?

”Sofia, what’s wrong? Was my request too much? You just said I could ask for anything, I thought this would be...”

”It’s nothing, I agree to it.” Sofia forced a smile, swallowing her sadness.

Who could blame her for liking this kind of man?

There’s no helping it.

This kind of abstinent yet talented god keeps enticing her further.

The next day, the small football field next to Sofia’s mansion began renovations, getting replaced with real grass, which wasn’t cheap.

However, neither Sofia nor Lu Yang was home today.

Because they had already arrived at Sanremo City Stadium.

Today was the fifth round of the Italian Third Division starting.

It was also Lu Yang’s first game day in the Italian Third Division.

Initially, the fans were very dissatisfied with the team.

But after Sofia entered the stadium early, the fans ultimately gave the big star some face.

If even Sofia continues to support San Remo, how could these die-hard fans give up so early?

At least for now, San Remo is still second to last.

Last year they endured being at the very bottom, so what isn’t possible?

At the very least, let number 24 play a game first.

That person is most adept at creating miracles, isn’t he?

...

In the team’s locker room, Lu Yang was teasing Morici.

”My good brother, what happened to carrying the whole field? As the team’s second captain, I’m leaving the team to you, and this is how you lead them?” Lu Yang patted Morici’s shoulder, ”No way, no way? The mighty Morici can’t carry this Italian Third Division Galaxy Battleship?”

Morici’s face turned red with anger.

To be fair, Morici really hasn’t let anyone down.

One goal and three assists in four games. What more do you want from him?

Five goals in nine minutes?

He’s human, not a god!

But unfortunately... the team is in a period of adjustment, and with Bai Zhami on the left as a black hole, winning is indeed tough.

”Alright everyone, this game is my first game back. I hope you’ll give me a little respect and stop going easy on these Third Division friends, okay?” Lu Yang scanned everyone in the locker room.

Some people broke into knowing smiles.

Lu Yang was using Ah Q’s spirit to motivate everyone.

To help them not lose confidence.

It might seem silly, and from some mouths it would even sound like sharp and sarcastic irony.

But coming from Lu Yang, honestly, you’d really want to do him this favor.

”Alright, it’s time to let them feel the strength of the former Italian D Division’s best defensive player.” Rondo cooperated well with Lu Yang.

”Italy’s future midfield core says we must win today!” Morici also chimed in.

”In that case... Milan’s future number nine is about to go wild!” Sogel joined in, seeming quite the nerd.

”The Purple Lily’s midfield soul Versachi is here!”

”Inter’s avenger Bai Zhami never gives up!”

For a moment, the whole locker room turned into a sea of nerdiness.

This might seem frivolous, but at least... the gloomy atmosphere of four previous games without a win was somewhat dispelled, and the pressure on everyone was reduced.

And this game’s pressure all fell on one person.

That was Lu Yang.

Coming back and immediately exercising his power as the team leader, letting his teammates smile forcedly with him and join his rhythm. So he must also take the responsibility a leader should bear.

If this match continues without victory.

Lu Yang must be the first to stand up and take the blame.

Just like in ”Fifty Kilometers Peach Blossom Village,” after the first leader Dock Chief’s first collective event failed despite everyone’s cooperation.

After that, the villagers no longer wanted to listen to his calls.

If the first event succeeds, gathering the villagers later would be much easier.

So any team leader’s first game, event, etc., can only win, not fail.

With Sofia’s arrival, more media focused on this game, and the consequences of losing this game would be far more terrifying than losing the previous four matches.

The double-edged sword brought by traffic was already hanging over Lu Yang’s head.

Soon, it was game time.

Everyone walked out of the players’ tunnel, and San Remo’s fans still gave everyone applause.

Especially when the announcer introduced Lu Yang, the applause was the most enthusiastic.

If Lu Yang’s return cannot bring victory to the team, San Remo can basically announce relegation early.

No exaggeration.

Beep!

With a whistle, the game officially began.

Today’s opponent for San Remo was Ferrari Pisa, a lower-tier relegation team in the Italian Third Division.

A long name, let’s just call them Feipi.

Don’t be fooled by Feipi being a relegation team, but they haven’t been relegated in the past five years, indicating they actually have stable Third Division strength.

If they can’t beat them, San Remo would really be unable to beat anyone in the Third Division field.

Feipi kicked off.

After a brief organization, they immediately chose San Remo’s left as the breakthrough point.

In the previous four games, Bai Zhami’s black hole trait was fully exposed.
