I AM the Football Star

Chapter 113: Chapter 45: Shattered to Pieces, Forcing the Italian Football World to Doubt Itself! (Part 2)

From Lu Yang breaking through and scoring.

To Lu Yang breaking through and passing to Versachi to score.

Then to Lu Yang breaking through and attracting the defense, forcing them to abandon the flanks, allowing Sogel to make a cross and another player to score.

This is the continuous evolution of Team B’s tactics.

Team A was exhausted, unable to stop it.

And Lu Yang had clearly become the strongest weapon and tactical core of Team B in this match.

All the offense revolved around Lu Yang’s breakthroughs.

As Lu Yang said, Team A lacked a good defensive midfielder, otherwise, it would have been difficult for Lu Yang to break through, fundamentally disrupting Team B’s offensive tactics.

The outcome of a single point affects a series of matchups, ultimately leading to the team’s domination.

This is football.

Team A’s players had no interest in playing anymore.

They all knew they couldn’t bounce back.

Now they needed to consider their performances and whether they could earn the approval of the five mentors.

Thus, more and more players tried to showcase their dribbling skills whenever they had the ball, making it impossible for Team A to launch attacks.

Everyone wanted to dribble past opponents, and the three forwards upfront barely got the ball.

But the three forwards couldn’t blame the others because they kept losing the ball themselves.

Especially Aguirre!

You can lose the ball upfront, but I can’t lose it in midfield?

There’s no such logic.

In defense, Lam was still trying hard, stepping up to play as the team’s defensive midfielder.

But this allowed Sogel to lose his balance.

After that, Morici hardly passed the ball to Lu Yang, and Lam seemed to have indeed marked Lu Yang, stopping Team B’s offensive tactics.

But in reality, this was just one of Team B’s tactics.

The true tactical core of Team B was never Lu Yang, but Morici.

Lu Yang was merely one of the offensive options Morici used earlier.

If Lu Yang were held back, Morici could still try other offensive methods because Lu Yang also pulled away the opponent’s defensive core.

This is the so-called dual-core technique, with one main and one vice. The vice may sometimes take the spotlight, but the risk is that the vice could be stopped, while the main can always help the team find new breakthroughs in various situations.

There’s no high or low between them, as they belong to different domains.

The main is the commander, easy to come by a hundred generals, hard to find one commander.

The vice is the general, easy to come by three armies, equally hard to find one general.

Morici and Lu Yang shine in their respective fields.

See, after Lu Yang was marked by Lam, Morici directly made a long pass to the team’s right.

Bai Zhami used his speed to complete a single-point explosion, and the opponent couldn’t keep up with him at all.

He went all the way to the bottom line, ignoring everything, and made a cross.

In terms of timing, it wasn’t perfect as he took two more steps and passed slightly late.

But Sogel stood his ground against Team A’s center back with his tall frame of 1.88 meters.

With Lam out of the way, Sogel reigned supreme in the penalty area.

After chesting the ball down, he volleyed directly.

At such a close range, the goalkeeper could only watch the ball helplessly.

Five to one!

Team B was in a frenzy!

They shattered the match into pieces!

...

It’s over!

This training match ended with a result no one expected.

Team B convincingly won 5-1, leaving Team A with nothing.

Lu Yang scored two goals and assisted twice, earning the title of the best player of the match.

Morici got one assist, yet he was undoubtedly the initiator of the team’s attacks, the perfect playmaker. Whenever there was a chance, his passes would reach!

He was involved in orchestrating the team’s last four goals, with a sense of strategizing from a thousand miles away.

Bai Zhami fully utilized his characteristics, with one goal and one assist, his stats shining.

Even though he seemed to be floating outside of the team’s coordination throughout the match, not performing the magical plays like Sogel, Versachi, Lu Yang, and Morici.

But his relentless sprinting turned Team A’s left wing into a sieve. He couldn’t coordinate with the team, but he didn’t slack off, sprinting when needed, and cutting in when necessary, without ever giving up halfway.

It seemed like he ran a lot in vain, but players like Lu Yang and even Sogel could use his standard runs to create threats.

Bai Zhami was like a fixed program, unable to adapt randomly but could be utilized by the team’s attackers.

And this was precisely what Team A lacked.

Team A had three supercars up front, but after Aguirre’s countless refusals to pass the ball, the other two almost never passed to Aguirre while dribbling, leading to three supercars’ impact reduced to one, failing to penetrate Team B’s defense was not surprising.

Versachi scored a goal, capable of attacking and defending, able to run and willing to cover, serving as the team’s best midfield lubricant.

While he couldn’t completely stop Canyes and Aguirre, he relieved Lu Yang’s defensive pressure. Otherwise, Lu Yang could defend two at once occasionally but not every time.

Similarly, on the offensive end, Versachi couldn’t completely dismantle Canyes, but he could occasionally create some threats.

He and Lu Yang stirred the midfield, becoming the biggest reason for Team B’s comeback in this match.

Sogel delivered a perfect match as a pivot central forward, scoring once and participating in two threatening attacks. Although there were two attacks without his presence, it was precisely because of his wide play that gaps appeared in the center.
