I AM the Football Star

Chapter 123: Chapter 49: Sparking an Italian Youth Storm

”Oh my god! The Star of Italy Team has equalized for the third time! Their resilience is incredible!”

”This is a perfect tactical cooperation, the Star of Italy Team really showed their style!”

”But the most exquisite part has to be Lu Yang’s through pass piercing three defensive players! No one expected him to kick the ball straight back instead of regrouping and distributing.”

”Morici’s move up was very bold, he’s been active in the backfield today, and this is his first forward run. Perhaps this is also why the defenders overlooked him, and he used this to severely punish Millwall.”

”I remember during the Italian D League, Lu Yang and Morici had such a collaboration. They have such a great understanding! This is definitely the golden combination of Italy’s future midfield! Italians, what are you waiting for, I’ll say it again, hurry up and naturalize Morici!”

”This offensive battle is truly more wonderful than everyone imagined, these Italian lads are truly amazing!”

On the field, Millwall players began to sweat profusely.

They really didn’t expect these lads to run so much.

A team composed of young people has a distinct trait: they are either way too good or way too bad.

Once they are suppressed, they are likely to completely lose confidence and suffer a crushing defeat.

However, unexpectedly, the Star of Italy Team was able to repeatedly equalize the score, a mindset many big teams lack.

”Hold on a little longer, they’re done!” Lu Yang patted Sevajos’s cheek to boost his morale, while signaling Bai Zhami to get ready.

Sevajos nodded, he didn’t mind being substituted, especially in this match where he even hoped to leave early.

But as long as he was on the field even for just one minute, he was willing to give it his all.

In the past, he wasn’t this brave and selfless, but... if Lu Yang could do it all, why couldn’t he?

In terms of confrontation, Lu Yang faced no less than he did.

Lu Yang even helped him block a lot of confrontations and covered a lot on defense.

In terms of running, Lu Yang definitely ran much more than he did, with Lu Yang being the one who ran the most on the whole field.

The inspiration of someone’s quality can unleash infinite energy in young people.

In the seventy-fifth minute of the second half, Lu Yang received a prompt that his running distance had reached 10 kilometers, activating the first layer of the Perpetual Motion Machine special effect, granting him a three percent boost in capabilities across the board!

It was good news.

And one minute later, Sevajos successfully cut inside and was taken down near the penalty area.

Free kick!

Twenty-seven meters from the goal!

Quite threatening!

The Star of Italy Team’s players gave Sevajos a warm applause because Sevajos was going off the field.

His foot had been bruised.

Bai Zhami substituted in.

Lu Yang, Parrot, and Morici gathered to discuss how to take this free kick. Morici was the team’s primary free kick taker, Sevajos was second, and Parrot third.

But actually, Parrot wasn’t good at free kicks; this third free-kick taker position mainly recognized his status.

”I’m better with free kicks within twenty-five meters, I can achieve the curvature and accuracy, but my foot strength isn’t enough to make a very strong shot from twenty-seven meters,” Morici spoke, looking at Lu Yang.

Because in the last match of the Italian D Division, Lu Yang had scored a stunning free-kick goal.

And this should be within Lu Yang’s range.

”Then it’s my turn!” Lu Yang stepped up.

Morici stood beside to assist him, while Parrot moved to the edge of the penalty area, looking for opportunities.

Lu Yang held the soccer ball, found the valve, placed the ball on the ground, then took a neat five-step retreat, with hands hanging down, staring at the wall, with unwavering eyes.

That posture was just like he was going for a penalty kick.

Millwall’s wall didn’t pay attention to Lu Yang, who had the best technique in their team was obvious throughout the game, wasn’t it?

Lu Yang’s technique was considered poor among midfield and forward players.

But this kid had good stamina and defense.

With these two traits, he was even more unlikely to be the free-kick taker.

Everyone knows that good defense equals roughness, good attack equals softness.

”How is Morici going to take this free kick?” Taji asked.

”Lu Yang will take this free kick,” Maniero replied, shaking his head, ”and there’s a very big chance it will go in!”

Taji was stunned.

Carrel said, ”He’s scored a free kick before.”

”Scoring a free kick once, so what? Does that prove he has the ability to score from dead balls? Who hasn’t scored a free kick in training?” Taji couldn’t understand what these two were talking about.

Maniero said, ”If you had seen that goal, you would know how dangerous Lu Yang’s free kicks are.”

No sooner were those words spoken.

Lu Yang already started to run on the field.

But Millwall’s players kept their eyes focused entirely on Morici, who was preparing to run from the back.

Boom!

Without any warning, the soccer ball flew over the wall.

Lu Yang kicked!

The soccer ball flew extremely fast, climbing sharply over the wall, already exceeding the goal’s range.

It looked like a shot that wasn’t kept down.

Without any threat.

But almost in the blink of an eye, the soccer ball started to drop.

Millwall’s goalkeeper tried to judge the ball’s direction, only to find it wildly twisting mid-air!

Maybe from other angles, this curvature wasn’t visible, but from the goalkeeper’s perspective, it was clearly seen.

Bam!

The net rippled.
