I AM the Football Star

Chapter 147: Chapter 57: An Auspicious Start and Suspension (Part 3)

At the same time, the phenomenon of San Remo’s ineffective offense also began to appear.

Bai Zhami made several threatening breakthroughs, but either made unwise choices to shoot at the wrong time, or passed poorly.

On the other side, Fernandez’s performance was slightly better, but he neither failed nor succeeded, and it was difficult for the attack to continue through him. His technical characteristics determine he can’t be a raider, and right winger is not his ultimate destination.

But with Morici, Latu Yidi, and Versachi in the midfield, Fernandez couldn’t possibly make the starting lineup.

For the next game, he’s very likely to sit on the bench.

Sure enough, on September 4th, the third round of the Italian Third Division.

San Remo drew at home two-two and secured a point.

Fernandez indeed was a substitute, and sitting with him on the bench was Bai Zhami.

But not even twenty minutes into the game, the team’s left winger had to leave due to injury.

Bai Zhami came on as a substitute and in just twenty-five minutes, the team conceded two goals.

Tom even suggested substituting Bai Zhami at halftime.

But Sotu, considering the player’s mentality, refused this suggestion.

And there was certain payback.

In the second half, San Remo’s formation contracted, with the opponent attacking near the penalty area.

Versachi intercepted, Morici swiftly passed the ball, Bai Zhami scored with a solo effort.

Bai Zhami opened his goal account for San Remo.

In the eighty-fifth minute of the match, Morici advanced through the middle with the ball, passing two players and creating a threat.

After a fake shot, he skillfully passed to Sogel, who took a shot that was blocked by the opponent’s center back with his body.

Facing the incoming ball, Latu Yidi volleyed directly to score as if by luck.

San Remo finally equalized the score.

After the match, Latu Yidi bluntly said he was feeling a bit tired after the last three games.

Clearly, the lineup is almost the same, only missing Lu Yang, and the opponents aren’t particularly strong. It feels like there’s no qualitative gap between them and Bisceglie, so why has the game suddenly become so much harder?

Playing like this, Latu Yidi feels his wish to coast through matches might likely fall through.

This really... doesn’t know whether to be happy he can be the mainstay now, or feel sorry for himself, having to fight hard to save the day at over thirty.

After all, he’s a defensive midfielder.

Scoring isn’t his strong suit.

And very quickly, Latu Yidi won’t have to worry.

Because in San Remo’s fourth match, he won’t need to save the day.

In fact, the situation in this match couldn’t be salvaged at all.

...

”Having money doesn’t mean you can do whatever you want!”

”Go back to the Italian D Division!”

”You are really weak!”

”An unstoppable hillbilly team!”

This is the trash talk from the home fans towards the visiting team San Remo after the victory.

The entire stadium was boiling.

San Remo’s players walked into the player tunnel one by one with their heads down.

They lost.

In the away game, they were beaten five to two!

Lost completely without temper.

Morici, with one assist and one goal, couldn’t save the team.

San Remo’s front line couldn’t break the deadlock, scoring two goals—one from Morici’s long shot, and one from Naji heading in a corner kicked by Morici.

Similarly, their defense was difficult, the left flank was completely opened up, and three goals by the opponent originated and were scored from the left side.

And the slow retreat and turn of their dual tall center backs Naji and Palacios were utilized by the opponent’s forwards, conceding two additional goals.

If not for goalkeeper Jalard’s strong mental fortitude, who maintained focus even after conceding five goals, today’s count of conceded goals would have exceeded five.

This was the most miserable loss Morici has experienced in his career, without exception.

At this moment, he intensely longed for that strongest ”183” on earth who never misses his passes on the field!

Brother Lu, I was wrong!

San Remo, this new force, I can’t carry by myself as a younger brother!

Please come back soon!
