I AM the Football Star

Chapter 114: Chapter 45: Shattered to Pieces, Forcing the Italian Football World to Doubt Itself! (Part 3)

He demonstrated the threat of a central forward, able to run, dribble, and clash, interpreting the pivot playing style.

Team B performed exceptionally well.

Conversely, on Team A’s side...

Canyes is very fast, passes well, and secured an assist.

But in his eagerness to attack, he was not proactive in defense, leaving a huge hidden danger for the team’s defense. As a result, when Sogel moved to the wing, the central defender had to go out and cover, which became one of their exposed breakthrough points.

Parrot scored a goal, but as a poacher forward, he had few chances to shine in this match, lacking ammunition supply from teammates.

Sevajos’ talent and ability are undeniable; he might be Team A’s strongest offensive player!

But after being affected by Aguirre’s selfishness, he abandoned organizing offensives and passing, causing Team A to lose the last chance to turn the game around. In fact, whether he plays as an attacking midfielder or a left winger, he could become the team’s organizing core, as there is a type of core-winger playstyle in European Football.

However, this time he did not take on the responsibility of being the team’s core.

As for Aguirre...he was simply the root of Team A’s turmoil in this match.

He was the turnover king of the entire match!

The ball possession always ended with him!

His success rate in dueling Lu Yang was very low, yet he always attempted to dribble past Lu Yang to prove something.

Even though he rarely managed to break through Lu Yang successfully, the team often lost the best opportunity to attack by then.

As the captain, during halftime, he failed to take on the responsibility of sorting out the team’s playing style and identifying the opponent’s tactical flaws; instead, he emphasized irrelevant things.

Not only did he bring huge trouble to Team A’s tactics, but he also damaged the atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration, becoming a cancer of the team.

The five mentors unanimously believed Aguirre should bear the most responsibility for Team A’s defeat.

So...

Among the thirty-six players of Teams A and B, the thirteen players selected to play with the nine previously unselected would certainly include Aguirre!

The S-level player entered the pending zone!

After the mentors’ group announced this decision, Aguirre blushed with embarrassment.

If not for the fact that two of the mentors are highly respected figures in Italy and three are current superstars in Serie A, he would have surely flipped out on the spot!

But with Roman Wolf King Perrotta present, how dared this little wolf act recklessly?

Two hours later, the match of Groups C and D began.

Aguirre did not become captain, joining Group D.

The captain of Group D initially intended for Aguirre to substitute in the second half, considering his stamina; he had already played a match. Moreover, they appreciated Aguirre’s strong individual capabilities, hoping he could lead the team to victory in the second half.

However, Aguirre refused to be a substitute, insisting on starting, viewing the substitution as an insult.

As a result, although he scored a goal through dribbling ability in the first half, his stamina severely waned in the second half, leading to his substitution in the sixty-third minute. Meanwhile, Group C scored two in the second half, achieving a thrilling 2-1 victory over Group D.

For a moment, the entire pitch was filled with laughter from some and tears from others.

Because some people knew they would stay, while others knew they would leave!

...

The next day, even before the list was announced, everyone already received the notification of Aguirre’s voluntary withdrawal from the camp.

But nobody was surprised, as based on his performance, Aguirre was likely not making the twenty-four-person roster.

The so-called voluntary withdrawal was merely to save face for this ”star of tomorrow” from Rome!

After all, Aguirre is someone meant to play in Serie A; being outperformed by a bunch of young players is somewhat hard to talk about.

This can be considered Wolf King Perrotta’s contribution to Rome.

If not for Perrotta’s presence, Maniero would have definitely first announced Aguirre’s non-selection.

Not everyone can play the ”I’ll leave first” trick in front of Maniero.

But even so, once the program aired, it still caused a sensation in Italian Football.

Because Lu Yang’s performance was outstanding!

Yet his previously mediocre training data and match performance were completely inconsistent.

This made the entire Italian Football start to question their standards in selecting young players.

Perhaps, there really is a kind of player who excels in matches?
