I AM the Football Star

Chapter 102: Chapter 41: Serie A Level Defense, Comprehensive Trial Competition

”You...” Aguirre was furious. He stood up and regained control of the football, then charged towards Lu Yang.

A minute’s time; as long as the football is not under the opponent’s control, it’s considered a victory.

Under normal circumstances, Aguirre would constantly dribble the ball, dodging and repositioning to avoid being intercepted.

But he was just ”ambushed” by Lu Yang and felt humiliated.

So he wanted to humiliate back.

He wanted to dribble past Lu Yang!

However, unexpectedly, Lu Yang’s quick shoulder feints made it unclear what he was trying to do.

Right side!

Aguirre keenly sensed Lu Yang’s intent; Lu Yang was more inclined to guard his right side... he’s ready to make a move... great opportunity!

Aguirre attempted to break through from the left side.

But just as he nudged the ball, a foot appeared along the path of the ball and hooked it away.

A perfect interception!

It looked as if Aguirre intentionally passed the ball to Lu Yang’s feet.

Twice now!

Liverpool’s young central defender trainee Lam frowned.

This Lu Yang’s defense is strong, not like the level of the Italian D Division. Even in the lower leagues, such neat and precise defense is top-notch.

Lam even doubted whether he could perform interceptions and blocks like Lu Yang.

Soon, ten minutes passed.

Aguirre was no longer as arrogant as before.

Because in this one-on-one, he lost, and quite miserably!

Of his five possessions, all were successfully intercepted by Lu Yang!

Perhaps if he dribbled the ball all over the field, he could make Lu Yang fail once or twice, but he just couldn’t bring himself to do that.

Meanwhile, during Lu Yang’s five possessions, aside from being intercepted once by Aguirre, the remaining four times successfully lasted a minute.

His method of consumption was simple and crude, mostly relying on his robust physique.

As long as Lu Yang was shielding off Aguirre, Aguirre found it hard to counter-snatch.

Lu Yang’s physical confrontation ability is almost second to none among young players.

Standing at just one meter eighty-three, in terms of physical confrontations, only big central forwards and tall defenders might outmatch him.

And Aguirre was clearly a technical flow player rather than a physical one.

He could easily outmaneuver Bai Zhami, but he could only be overpowered by Lu Yang!

This is the food chain in competitive sports!

Even if they’re just a bit stronger than you, that’s still an insurmountable mountain.

Moreover, Lu Yang also had decent footwork coordination; his V-shaped Pull, heel flick, and knee bounce were performed very smoothly, several times making a fool of Aguirre, causing a commotion among the crowd.

Unknowingly, all the cameras were focused on Lu Yang.

After defeating Aguirre, Lu Yang did not continue to flaunt; instead, he ignored Aguirre and walked directly towards Bai Zhami, extending his hand: ”I’m Lu Yang, the main defensive midfielder of San Remo. Unless something unexpected happens, we’ll be fighting side by side in the coming season.”

”You’re a forward player; you just need to focus on running and scoring.”

”I’m a defensive player, so I need to ensure the safety of the team and the players.”

”With me around, no one can bully you in any way, whether on the field or off it!”

”Of course, I hope that one day you can teach those people a lesson yourself... preferably in a football manner. Because that would mean our team has gained a strong ally! I long to achieve more glory with my teammates!”

”Welcome aboard, Bai Zhami!”

Bai Zhami stared at Lu Yang’s extended hand, dumbfounded for a while.

He didn’t know why, but he remembered when he first joined the Inter Milan youth training far from home.

Those kids may not have been malicious, and the coaches there perhaps thought it was merely kids joking around.

But the words ”black monkey” and others spoken to Bai Zhami still stung.

Since then, the once lovable and smiling Senegalese Bai Zhami had transformed into his current cool and aloof self, uninterested in anyone.

He wasn’t rejecting kindness; he was just preemptively averting the world’s harm.

And precisely because of this, his football couldn’t accommodate others.

As long as he had the ball, he no longer wanted to share it with anyone.

This playing style was effective for a while, especially when his level was far above others on the field.

But once he became an adult, once he started participating in higher-level matches, it no longer worked.

Consequently, after a season and a half of attempts, Inter completely gave up on him and sold him to San Remo.

Bai Zhami once felt his life was over.

But at the moment when Lu Yang extended his hand, he felt that perhaps San Remo was not a bad choice either.

At least the people here weren’t that disagreeable.

Bai Zhami reached out and grasped Lu Yang’s right hand: ”Hello, I’m Bai Zhami.”

Lu Yang smiled, ”This is Morici, our team’s absolute core, his passing is fantastic. Trust me, he’ll provide you with plenty of through balls in the future...”

”Don’t listen to his nonsense, breakthroughs are all created by forwards with outstanding individual skills, but when it comes to passing, I’m wide awake, haha...”

The three of them continued chatting and laughing as they walked to the side of the field, slowly becoming a small group.

The chief director behind the camera watched as Lu Yang’s face constantly revealed a smile, sighing, ”Such a sunny and handsome smile, but when he’s angry, why is he so terrifying? Is it possible for someone to be both an angel and a devil?”
