I AM the Football Star

Chapter 106: Chapter 42: Captain Election, Five S Stand United!

As a Serie A player and a 23-year-old big brother, his words still carry a lot of weight.

Even though others were eager to try, competing against Aguirre was clearly not likely to succeed.

Aguirre successfully became Team A’s captain.

As the first elected captain, he could choose four people first.

Meanwhile, Team B’s captain could choose eight people at once, followed by Team A’s captain, and then Team B’s captain again.

This selection method is undoubtedly more advantageous for Team A.

This is also a reward for the brave.

But even Maniero didn’t expect Aguirre to be so ruthless.

He chose four other S-level players!

Many players at the scene gasped in surprise.

What’s the point of playing then?

Just join Team A already; Team B doesn’t have a single S-level player, how can they win?

As a result, the position of Team B’s captain instantly became unattractive.

Seeing that the atmosphere was about to turn cold, Lu Yang suddenly stepped out and said, ”I am running for Team B’s captain, and I hope everyone can choose me. What I can promise is, I will do my best to lead everyone to victory. Ratings are not everything, we can win!”

Soon, Lu Yang became Team B’s captain, as no one competed with him.

Most people wanted to be selected into Team A and enjoy the pleasure of an easy win.

Lu Yang’s selected players included Morici, Bai Zhami, Versachi, Sogel, and four others who seemed to still have fighting spirit.

Having spent more than a week together, they had some understanding of each other.

About ten minutes later, the selection was over.

The nine players who weren’t selected didn’t feel too disappointed as they went to the sidelines.

Not being selected is at least better than being chosen by Team B, right?

Team B is bound to lose, it’s better to wait to play in the CD team’s match later.

Teams A and B then entered the preparation phase, starting to divide the main players, substitutes, and tactics.

This put a high demand on the captains.

It was almost like making the captain a coach as well.

The five mentors began whispering to each other.

Carrel: ”Team B’s overall strength is much weaker, there’s no way Team A could lose this match!”

Ancelotti: ”That’s true, perhaps the only area where Team B isn’t at a disadvantage is the midfield, with Morici, Lu Yang, and Versachi partnering up. They can barely match Team A’s midfield centered around Sevajos. The former two are from the same team and have great chemistry, achieving a synergy greater than the sum of their parts.”

Perrotta: ”But Team A has a dream lineup, while Team B... aside from Sogel, there’s no one else who can stand out!”

Taji: ”Perhaps Team B should aim to control the number of goals they lose by; that seems more realistic.”

Maniero laughed: ”Not necessarily. You never know, there might be a surprise. Among them, there are indeed a few players we earlier identified as competition types, like Lu Yang, like...”

As Maniero mentioned this, everyone realized there were indeed a few players with ordinary data but who performed well in the league on Team B.

Is this a coincidence?

After all, the term ”competition-type player” itself is unreliable and hard to judge.

But if Lu Yang were here, he would tell these mentors it’s possible to judge.

When everyone was scrambling to join Team A, the defiant glint in the eyes of a few people was so intense.

They disdain hanging onto coattails, no matter how strong the opponent, they aren’t afraid to confront.

These people are highly likely the competition-type players.

They may not be very strong, but there’s also a real chance they could be strong!
