I AM the Football Star

Chapter 145: Chapter 57: An Auspicious Start and Suspension

In the first half, there were no further changes to the score.

As soon as the second half began, Naji replaced Rondo as a substitute.

Sotu aimed to use half of the match to help San Remo adapt to the combination of two tall center-backs.

After all, Naji and Palacios would frequently appear together in the future.

Such a defense has certain speed deficiencies, requiring considerable chemistry to make up for it.

At the 60th minute of the match, Lu on the left wing overlapped with Bai Zhami, but Bai Zhami failed to understand Lu’s intentions, resulting in Lu’s pass being intercepted by the opponent’s right-back.

However, Lu immediately pressed forward, successfully reclaiming the ball.

At that moment, the Bisceglie defense had not yet reacted.

Lu directly kicked a cross.

Although his technique wasn’t superb, supported by dual attacking and defending backs, the pass was decent.

Sogel leaped high with a Lion’s Head Shake, once again piercing through the hands of Bisceglie’s goalkeeper, smashing into the goal.

Score, four to zero!

”Roar!”

Sogel clenched his fists, celebrating excitedly.

It was his debut for San Remo, and unexpectedly he scored two goals, such a start to his career was extraordinarily smooth!

Sogel rushed to Lu, thanking him for his two assists.

Without Lu, there would be no success for Sogel today.

He was no longer the young player in Milan’s youth training team, nor was he the potential player sent back to the reserve team without playing after entering Milan’s first team.

He was redeeming his talent.

With the score at this point, more than a third of the Bisceglie fans had already left.

Even though there were still half an hour left in the match, they didn’t want to watch another minute.

Bisceglie’s Italian Cup journey for this year was already over.

At the 80th minute of the match, Morici arrogantly rubbed salt into Bisceglie’s wounds.

Latu Yidi’s horizontal pass outside the penalty area landed at Morici’s feet, and to his surprise, he found himself unmarked, while there were more than two players crowding Lu.

How could he tolerate this?

Did Bisceglie really think Morici was only capable of organizing without any attacking capability?

Morici pushed the ball forward and followed up with a kick, his posture extremely relaxed.

A powerful outer-foot shoot soared skyward.

A second later, the ball flew into the net.

Morici scored a long-range goal!

San Remo leads five to zero!

Latu Yidi once again looked at his feet, wondering if this was how the young players play these days?

I originally thought you bought me to be the star player, but it turns out you’re really planning to let me retire.

This is somewhat touching.

After the match, many reporters participated in interviews.

For the past two months, San Remo has been in the limelight on social media.

Their two core players entered the Star of Italy Team and played several outstanding matches.

They have signed Serie A star Latu Yidi.

During the transfer window, they invested close to three million euros in reinforcements.

All of this has given many media outlets and fans much to say and ask about San Remo.

Thus, the number of media present for this post-match interview even surpassed those typically seen after Serie B matches.

Reporter: ”Latu Yidi, are you adapting to life and playing at San Remo?”

Latu Yidi: ”Couldn’t be more adapted! I never thought assisting could be so easy!”

Reporter: ”Are you implying criticism of Milan’s current forwards? Last season, they missed opportunities multiple times, making it hard to be satisfied.”

Latu Yidi: ”Sorry, today I did not assist a forward player. My relationship with Milan Club is good, they let me leave freely over the summer, I feel very thankful, and such a considerate club is rare. May I ask you not to pose such difficult questions in the future?”

Reporter: ”Sotu, will Lu permanently play as a left-back in the future? He performed well today.”

Sotu: ”Lu is a very versatile player, and he can appear in any position. However, I will respect his own wishes, if he tells me one day that he wants to play as a forward, I would agree with him.”

Reporter: ”We can see today Lu achieved a fantastic record of two goals and two assists. So, may I ask, if Lu were absent, wouldn’t San Remo be in crisis?”

Sotu: ”This summer we brought in many new players, and unfamiliarity with each other leads to a higher error rate, which is normal. As time progresses, San Remo will become stronger.”

Reporter: ”Sogel was unable to enter the first team at Milan, but performed excellently today. Does this relate to the incorrect strategy of Milan’s current head coach regarding player usage?”

Sotu: ”I am not in a position to criticize a Serie A head coach, thank you. Sogel is indeed outstanding, and when he returns to Milan, what will welcome him must be fans’ flowers and applause.”

Reporter: ”We notice that Bai Zhami performed poorly in this match, does it indicate he truly cannot integrate into the team? Did San Remo buy the wrong player?”

Sotu: ”Anyone adjusting to a new environment needs time, and we will show Bai Zhami sufficient patience, he is a player with great potential.”

Lu’s two assists and two goals, Sogel’s two goals, Morici’s one assist and one goal, Latu Yidi’s two assists, all were dazzling.

But the media does not solely talk nonsense.

The reason they inquire about how San Remo will fare without Lu is because Lu will not participate in the next four Italian Third Division matches!
