Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

The Nell Rays Security Bureau is somewhat busy. The work of the security bureau is very important; there isn’t a structured army within the Demon Palace, so the security bureau naturally takes on certain responsibilities of the army. They are akin to armed police, maintaining the safety and stability of the Demon Palace.

In stark contrast to others’ busyness, Tyros’ office is quiet at this moment. As a Level 1 investigator, Tyros doesn’t concern himself with trivial matters; he only needs to deal with certain major events that could affect the safety of the Demon Palace.

For instance, the invasion of outsiders...

He squints, sitting in the chair, seemingly dozing off, but his thoughts are constantly churning.

Outsiders’ invasion... Such a major event hasn’t occurred for a long, long time. When was the last time? Oh, oh, oh...

It seems it was before he joined the Demon Palace Security Bureau...

As memories silently flip through his mind, Tyros slowly recalls the data he once read. After a while, he sits up straight, picks up pen and paper on the desk, and quickly begins writing.

”Demon Palace Basement Level 911, abandoned research institute. Once a nameless research facility of the Demon Palace, it became a major interception battleground during an invasion by outsiders over a thousand years ago. At the right time, 32 invaders were killed, including 5 Level 11 powerful experts, and one escaped, named Spirit. After the war, the abandoned research institute became a place with space turbulence, which couldn’t be used or renovated anymore; originally there were 28 space channels leading downward, now only 1 remains.”

Stopping here, he pauses slightly, recalling briefly his recent encounter with Director Agou, and then Tyros chuckles lightly.

It was indeed an opportunity to capture the invaders, yet the power comparison left Tyros daring not make any rash moves, and what happened next seemed so inevitable.

The soul-type powerful expert called Wen Yu retreated; he must have found what he wanted. On the surface, this action seems to have completely failed, but once the mind shifts, everything turns around.

Perhaps it’s not a turnaround, but rather an inevitability.

The enemy’s goals are already determined, their general strength is also fixed; setting a trap on a certain path leading to the Origin Pool would make these invaders blunder into it headlong—it’s an unbeatable open scheme, either abandon the action and quietly leave the Demon Palace, or force your way through, there’s simply no other choice.

And since these guys have already entered the Demon Palace, they surely won’t give up the plan without even attempting it, right?

Recalling the intelligence provided by Filna about the personality traits of the leader, after a while, Tyros smiles and shakes his head, ruling out the possibility of them leaving without testing.

A simple game of waiting, yet the effect is remarkable.

Because the ones in control are always the Demon Palace Security Bureau, not those thief-like invaders.

So Tyros continues to write.

”Confirmed remaining invaders number at 4, named Wen Yu, Bai, Ye Nan, Leoja, among whom one is a Level 11 powerful expert, strength is in the lower position of Level 11, three are Level 7, and among them Wen Yu’s actual combat effectiveness is at the high position of Level 11, Bai is unknown, Ye Nan... extremely weak. Overall strength assessment is extremely weak!”

After writing these, Tyros thinks for a moment and then jots down some suggestions.

”I suggest deploying 4 Level 11 high-position powerful experts and several other personnel to counter this invasion event. Signed: Tyros, Level 1 Investigator at Demon Palace Security Bureau.”

Once finished, Tyros puts down the pen and paper, gently blows on the paper, which seemingly melts and disappears into thin air. After everything is over, Tyros finally stands up, takes the coat from the hanger, puts it on, and then strides confidently out of the office.

How could Tyros miss such an intriguing play?

...

Demon Palace Basement Level 911.

The once massive research institution has been torn to shreds during the last war of invasion, leaving only scattered steel frames still standing on the ground. The air is filled with chaotic energy flows, which scatter wildly, tearing the space here to pieces, only to be restored by the space’s self-recovery ability afterward.

This place is fraught with danger; even for a Peak Level 10 powerful expert, a single careless encounter with these space turbulences would result in instant disintegration into fragments. However, for a true expert, such space turbulences naturally pose no trouble.

The danger, there is another.

Heavy breathing sounds come from afar, getting closer and closer. In moments, Leoja’s enormous figure appears on the horizon, followed by Bai, Ye Nan, and Ye Nan’s other Avenger.

Three Avengers, with Filna captured, only Leoja and the bone demon named Purlang remain.

Leoja moves at an astonishing speed, its eight abdominal limbs leaving streaks of shadows as it sweeps through the air like a wind, smashing any encountered space turbulence.

”Faster... faster!”

And Bai on Leoja’s back urges Leoja anxiously to speed up, occasionally glancing backward with a look of panic as if to indicate a fierce monster is pursuing them!

Led by Bai, the small team has already been united for over ten days. Except for Filna being missing and suspected to be captured by the Demon Palace, only Wen Yu hasn’t arrived.

The Communication Jade left by Bai is temporarily ineffective due to the distance being too far; Bai naturally cannot wait for Wen Yu nor rescue Filna. For them, reaching the Origin Pool first is undoubtedly the best choice.

So the action continues... Yet, as the group just arrives at Demon Palace Basement Level 911, the situation suddenly changes dramatically...

Interception, encirclement, sniping, escape, within just a few hours, Bai was forced to use every trick in the book, even so, being chased to a desperate situation by the pursuer with nowhere to run!

Upon hearing Bai’s voice, Leoja doesn’t hesitate to expend Origin Energy, speeding up once more. However, all this seems like a ridiculously amusing play from the perspective of the existence behind them.

The air suddenly turns quiet, the scene suddenly freezes, everything seems to pause as if the pause button has been pressed, even the wind and turbulent space flows are completely halted!

At this moment, a certain presence suddenly appears, as if breaking into the frame, standing atop Leoja’s head, shoulder to shoulder with Bai. Then, turning his head, the four pitch-black eyes first glance at Bai beside him, then at Leoja beneath him, after a while, a voice emerges from the face wrapped in black gauze.

”Shatter...”
