Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Tyros left, not because he left the ancient archives, but because he really went to the archive room to borrow documents!

Wen Yu naturally accompanied Tyros.

The two of them went to the archive room together. Torre, the little guy, was still flipping through materials in the archive room. When he saw the two of them arrive, he merely nodded to greet them. Tyros, however, didn’t mind these formalities, he just nodded back to Torre, then looked at Wen Yu.

”By the way, Director Agou, do you have any documents on the Demon Palace’s layout here?”

”Hmm, let me think... I think we do, but I forgot where I put it... Torre! Torre!”

”What’s up, Director?”

”Where did we put those Demon Palace layout documents?”

”I’m not sure either, weren’t they all arranged by you?”

Wen Yu smacked his forehead, as if realizing something.

”Lord Tyros, forgive me for my memory, there should be some layout documents of the Demon Palace here, but I’ve forgotten where I put them, how about... we look for them together?”

Wen Yu’s smile didn’t waver, but the question and answer had undoubtedly hit his sore spot! Because those documents were currently all stored in Wen Yu’s space ring!

”Well then, I’ll trouble Director Agou to lead me in finding them.”

Tyros spoke lightly, while Wen Yu’s mind raced with thoughts, but he still led the way towards the depths of the archive room.

...

”These, these, and these...”

”Lord Tyros, could these be what you’re looking for?”

Aside from the key documents Wen Yu took, there were still some other materials about the Demon Palace in the archive room, like the ”Demon Palace’s Layout Plan for Sewage System on the Negative 944th Floor,” which Wen Yu quickly brought out, piling them in front of Tyros.

”I have more here.”

Wen Yu busily rummaged through the bookshelves, while secretly observing Tyros’ expression, hoping to glean some clues.

Yet, Tyros’ expression remained unchanged as he meticulously read through the materials, and after a long while, he chuckled softly.

”Thank you, Director Agou, these will suffice.”

After saying that, Tyros motioned for Wen Yu to sit down, and then, like a diligent student, he began leafing through the disorderly pile of documents page by page.

The entire archive room became silent, leaving only the sound of Tyros turning pages.

With the rustling of pages turning, a subtle feeling of unease emerged from deep within Wen Yu, until Tyros slowly finished a document and casually picked up the next one before speaking again.

”By the way, Director Agou, you’ve worked here for 528 years, you must have read all these documents, right?”

”Only a small portion.”

Wen Yu replied respectfully.

”There’s a lot of material here, I only read what interests me.”

Tyros nodded knowingly, then as if recalling something, he shifted his position and spoke in a relaxed tone.

”Does Director Agou know about the outside world?”

The outside world...

When Tyros said this, Agou’s memories suddenly flooded Wen Yu’s mind.

...

The Demon Palace, as an entity separate from the Demon Realm, essentially exists as two worlds, where most of the Demon Tribe living in the Demon Palace are unaware of the Demon Realm’s existence, just as many Demon Fiends in the Demon Realm are unaware of the world within the Demon Palace. However, in the eyes of some people, this is not considered a big secret. The nature of the Demon Palace and its relation to the Demon Realm is described in many archival documents.

Agou also knew this.

So Wen Yu nodded: ”I naturally know about this. Does Lord Tyros want to see materials on this aspect?”

Tyros just shook his head: ”There’s no need for that, it’s just that some time ago, the Security Bureau arrested someone who broke in from the outside on the 52nd floor of the Demon Palace. It seems the name is... ah, right, Filnas...”

The name Filnas from Tyros’ mouth immediately made Wen Yu’s heart skip a beat—it was one of the remaining Avengers of Ye Nan.

On the surface, Wen Yu appeared unruffled, and Tyros displayed no unusual reaction, only continuing to speak to himself: ”The Security Bureau conducted a thorough investigation and interrogation on Filnas. You should know the Security Bureau’s reputation; no one can hide any secrets from us. The results were astonishing: six people infiltrated from the lowest level of the Demon Palace, scattered throughout its various parts. One of them is particularly special... According to Filnas’ intelligence, this person is called Wen Yu, originally the strongest on a certain star. Although only Level 7, his real power far exceeds that of a typical Level 11 powerful expert. Even more impressive is this guy’s mastery of soul-based skills.”

”Director Agou, having read so many secretive documents, you should understand how tricky it is to deal with a soul-type powerful expert. This person poses a significant threat, and our Security Bureau suspects that this recent series of events is all related to this Wen Yu...”

Tyros’ speech became increasingly rapid, and by the end, his voice suddenly slowed, like a gentle breeze, directly entering Wen Yu’s ears.

In an instant, the enchanting sound swirled around Wen Yu’s ears, quietly stirring his thoughts.

”I wonder what Director Agou thinks about this matter?”

Wen Yu’s mouth slowly opened, his eyes seemed slightly dazed, yet his words were clearer than ever...

”I hope the esteemed members of the Security Bureau can ensure our safety...”

”Of course, we will, Director Agou, rest assured.”

As if on an agreed signal, upon Tyros’ utterance of those words, Wen Yu’s eyes immediately regained clarity. He looked ahead at Tyros in confusion, as if unsure of what had just transpired, while Tyros uninterestedly leafed through the documents in his hand, then set them aside. He stood up, extending his right hand to Wen Yu.

”I’ve seen what I need to see and asked what I need to ask. In that case, I won’t stay here any longer.”

Wen Yu grasped Tyros’ hand in return, a smile spread across his face: ”It’s our honor to cooperate with Lord Tyros’ investigation.”

The investigation thus concluded.

...

Wen Yu saw Tyros off and then returned to his office. As the door closed, his eyes suddenly glowed white.

Instantly, the erupted soul energy scanned over his body dozens of times but didn’t discover anything peculiar—Tyros had not placed any skills or marks on Wen Yu during their brief interaction.

Perhaps there was not much suspicion towards Agou... or perhaps it was a calculated decision in light of the power gap...

Tyros’ thoughts were unclear to Wen Yu, yet today’s brief questioning made Wen Yu realize one thing—his little tricks wouldn’t last much longer.
