Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Up ahead, a sea of red.

The originally somewhat moist black soil gradually transformed into burning magma, with waves of heat and the smell of smoke rushing forward, turning this place into a desolate domain.

In the depths of the earth, there always existed a Magma Sea, continuously emitting heat, providing the basic conditions for the existence of carbon-based life forms.

But the situation in the Demon Realm is quite different from that on Earth.

”The stratum of the Demon Realm can be simply divided into three parts: one part is the crystalline sand layer, barren land similar to the deserts on Earth; further down is the black soil layer, relatively more fertile. These two parts intermingle, and although generally, the crystalline sand layer floats on the surface, this is not absolute. However, these two layers only occupy a small part of the Demon Realm’s stratum, the rest, the majority, is the magma layer like what we see ahead.”

”Our target is the center of this magma layer.”

Bai emitted a spiritual fluctuation, explaining the situation here briefly to Wen Yu, while Wen Yu merely hunted another Soul Puppet variant, then looked forward.

Ahead, it was calm and still, the Magma Sea flowed slowly along a special trajectory, occasionally forming bubbles of various sizes — not much different from Earth’s nucleus, yet after experiencing a Soul Puppet variant’s harassment, if Wen Yu still thought nothing was amiss, he would be out of his mind.

”First, let me share my observations: we’ve traveled about 100 kilometers, the first ten kilometers were calm, but afterwards, we encountered those Air Puppet variants everywhere. Based on my observations, these Air Puppet variants are distributed in a stepped fashion; there are few at first, then progressively more. The closer we got to the Magma Sea, the fewer of these puppets there were. I believe the area we just passed was the territory of the Air Puppets, and here, it’s the domain of something else.”

Having said that, Wen Yu fell silent for a moment before finally adding.

”I still maintain my opinion that we should retreat now, but if you wish to continue forward, I will do my best to return this favor, that’s it.”

Wen Yu had gained quite a bit, to the truth, the Air Soul Puppets, capable of killing a Level 10 Breakthrough Achiever, contained Origin Energy far beyond Wen Yu’s imagination — each one was equivalent to an Origin Fruit condensed by an Almighty Demon Vine. Wen Yu had killed no less than hundreds! However, countless past lessons had taught Wen Yu that the greater the gain, the greater the risk, and as he ventured deeper, the sense of crisis in his heart became ever stronger.

From the start, Wen Yu wasn’t inclined to take this risk.

Yet Bai completely disregarded what Wen Yu thought, or rather, what Bai wished to do was far more important in his eyes than the risk! Even more important than his life! At this moment, Bai simply waved his hand, and then, Ye Nan with blank eyes slowly stepped out from the team, his body floating nearly a hundred meters above the Magma Sea, flying towards the Magma Sea at a leisurely pace.

A conceptual undying body, perfect for a Death Squad... yet everyone present merely hung their heads low, saying nothing.

These Soul Puppet variants had Origin Energy, and Origin Energy was the bane of conceptual abilities... for these Avengers, Ye Nan dying like this might not be a bad thing, but for Bai, once Ye Nan died, he would lose his ability to control the Avengers.

Bai’s actions were far from just desperate measures, to Wen Yu it seemed totally disorganized, but again, this was their personal affair, something Wen Yu wasn’t keen to involve himself in.

...

Ye Nan flew further and further away, and as he explored the path ahead, everyone’s gazes were tightly fixed on the roiling surface of the Magma Sea.

As bubbles continuously burst, creating a series of ”bo bo” sounds, these noises formed a sheet and seemed slightly grating, but otherwise, there were no other abnormalities.

Until Ye Nan’s figure grew increasingly blurred, and was even about to disappear from Bai’s line of sight, Bai became impatient, wanting to fly forward along the route Ye Nan had taken.

However, just as Bai was about to move, a large hand tightly grabbed Bai’s shoulder.

”Wait, wait a little longer...”

Bai’s vision naturally couldn’t compare to Wen Yu’s; at this moment, Ye Nan was about to leave Bai’s range of sight, but to Wen Yu, this was just the beginning. Wen Yu didn’t mind using Ye Nan’s life to eliminate risks for himself, so this situation meant that for Wen Yu, the further Ye Nan went, the better...

Bai took a couple of deep breaths, considering Wen Yu’s advice, while Wen Yu just kept a close eye on Ye Nan’s figure, slowly squinting his eyes.

The atmosphere gradually stagnated until an inexplicable agitation wafted through the air...

This agitation was extremely faint, manifested only as a slight increase in the speed of air movement and a slight rise in temperature, yet without external interference, even this barely noticeable hint was enough to reveal everything!

”Here it comes...”

Wen Yu merely transmitted in a low voice, without any intention of acting, and the group just watched Ye Nan’s figure until a pillar of fire shot up from the Magma Sea!

”Boom!”

In that instant of eruption, the flames seemed to pierce through heaven and earth, enveloping Ye Nan’s body in a sea of red flames, accompanied by a strong sulphur vapor and rolling heat waves, the scene before everyone’s eyes suddenly changed dramatically!

In Wen Yu’s vision, the Magma Sea beneath Ye Nan’s feet tremored abruptly, then two Magma Giants, exuding a sulphur aura, rose from the Magma Sea, their bodies nearly a thousand meters high, with four sturdy arms, dripping magma and strong waves of Origin Energy, all these factors conveying the immense power of these Magma Giants to Wen Yu!

”Buzz buzz buzz~~”

”Buzz buzz buzz~~~”

The two Magma Giants seemed to converse, their bodies continuously emitting humming sounds, this exchange lasted about 3 seconds, then the two Magma Giants lunged at each other ferociously, not even glancing at Ye Nan!

In an instant, the clash of their massive fists stirred up a massive wave, the Magma Sea beside them seemed to boil, countless fireballs rose from the Magma Sea, fiercely smashing onto the giants, yet they didn’t notice, Ye Nan, within the fire pillar, emerged unscathed, drifting straight towards the distance under Bai’s control.

That last strike, those two behemoths didn’t even use Origin Energy...

”In Ancient Demon Realm Language... they argued over the prey... but it seems they are not very clever.”

Another Avenger spoke up, considered the linguist among the group—this team assembled by Bai could be considered quite versatile indeed.
