Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Closing the ancient archives in his hands, Wen Yu squinted, unsure of what to think.

The ancient archives contained a broad history of the Demon Realm, filled with vast information and many damages. Yet, after Wen Yu’s careful organization, he extracted quite a bit of information. Although it wasn’t helpful for the current plan, it certainly was a great gain in itself.

At least, Wen Yu had a clearer concept of the Demon Realm.

Everything changed with that thing called the Celestial Gift Stone... This must undoubtedly be the origin of the Exchange Stone Pillar.

In other words, the Exchange Stone Pillar and the professionist system were not created by the Dominator but brought back from beyond the heavens. This contradicts Bai’s previous conclusion: ”The professionist system and the Exchange Stone Pillar are actually another unknown existence superior to the Dominator and the Demon Lord. It lacks consciousness, good, or evil, just a super tool, where the Dominator holds most of its authority, while the Demon Lord holds a small part.”

And the two rulers mentioned in the archives who changed the world and split Riyarda in two... According to Wen Yu’s guess, that should indeed be the Dominator and the Demon Lord.

The Dominator was defeated, escaping Riyarda, while the victorious Demon Lord faced a shattered world after the great battle.

Following this logic... is the Dominator also from the Demon Tribe?

Wen Yu pondered for a long time, then sighed. It’s not impossible. The Dominator seemed to provide an invaded world with counterattack capability, but that was only one side. If he truly wanted to help these invaded worlds, why not send out the Treasure Land Protectors to guard the Demon Realm’s Gate in the first place?

From the very beginning, this old thing had no good intentions!

Yet, the more one knows, the more questions arise.

According to Confidential Archive 4, the original Riyardans were already extinct, yet the current Demon Tribe is still lively and vigorous. Reality does not match the archives, and the four plans mentioned in Confidential Archive 1...

Judging from the numbering and the names of these four plans, they are the root cause of everything now.

All kinds of things caused Wen Yu’s mind to be filled with more mysteries.

He just sat in the chair thinking, until a few hours later, he got up and put these discarded archives back to their original place—a broken box, then walked straight to another box.

Opening the box, a heap of tattered drawings came into view.

”General Design Renovation Manual of the Demon Palace...”

The previous archives were just an extra gain; perhaps they might count as the greatest gain of this trip to the Demon Palace, yet the thing in front of him was the focus of this action.

...

Putting all the archives into the space ring, Wen Yu greeted Torre, then headed straight back to his office.

Agou, this person, is absolutely a typical single bachelor and homebody. Several hundred years old, yet unmarried, the Director’s office of the Ancient Archives serves as Agou’s residence—a simple bed and a desk, which is sufficient.

Sitting leisurely at the desk, Wen Yu first poured himself a glass of water, then prepared to look at the overall layout of the Demon Palace. However, before Wen Yu could open the archives, the office door was suddenly knocked on.

”Come in.”

Wen Yu put the archives back into the spatial tools, then spoke.

As the door was pushed open, an ancient demon in a black uniform gracefully walked into Wen Yu’s office.

The ancient demon was tall and strong, exuding a strong confidence all over—a fearlessness derived from his own strength and status.

With a quick glance at the ancient demon, Wen Yu immediately deduced the ancient demon’s power—a Level 10 Breakthrough Achiever with physical attributes at least over a million!

”Who might you be?”

Wen Yu asked with some confusion, but the ancient demon didn’t directly answer Wen Yu’s question. He just circled the office a few times, casually pulled out a book from the shelf, and after a while, while reading, he said without turning his head.

”I’m Tyros, a Level 1 Investigator of the Demon Palace Security Bureau.”

Tyros, Wen Yu didn’t know, but the name of the Demon Palace Security Bureau made Wen Yu’s heart skip a beat.

The strongest violent institution in the Demon Palace, it could be compared to the Shield Bureau from certain movie series.

In the entire Demon Palace, the name Demon Palace Security Bureau was known to everyone, including the reputation in Agou’s memories. Portrayed in actions, Wen Yu transformed into Agou and stood up immediately, with an old face full of smiles: ”Oh, it’s the Security Bureau’s adult. You came without informing me, let me pour you a cup of water...”

As courteous as an old dog, but Tyros just quietly watched Wen Yu’s performance and after a while, chuckled softly.

”Motai’s case has already been handed over to the Security Bureau for handling. I only came here to ask the Director a few questions, so there’s no need to be so nervous.”

Wen Yu’s face maintained a smile, but in his heart, he indeed felt a slight tension—Motai, the previous Wen Yu’s stand-in, that Secretary-General Nileth.

Clearly, regarding this series of sudden death incidents, the Demon Palace Security Bureau had found some oddities.

”Please ask, please ask.”

Wen Yu imitated Agou’s way, nodding and bowing, first inviting Tyros to the table, pouring water, before returning to his seat, full of tension and apprehension.

”Why did you go to the One Eared Crook Bar yesterday?”

”Just to drown my sorrows in alcohol, you know, this place is about to be demolished and rebuilt into a museum.”

Wen Yu spoke vaguely, but Tyros knowingly nodded.

”Did you see any suspicious individuals or strange things in the One Eared Crook Bar yesterday?”

Wen Yu pretended to ponder for a moment, then shook his head.

”No, it was no different from before. Oh, I often go to the One Eared Crook Bar. I’m considered an old customer there.”

”No need to be nervous, or in a hurry to clear yourself of suspicion. As for specifics, I naturally have a set of evaluation standards.”

”What did you drink at the One Eared Crook Bar yesterday?”

”I drank...”

Tyros asked some haphazard questions, initially following formal protocol, but later, it felt less like an interrogation and more like a casual chat between friends. The topics also strayed further, from last night’s events to the ancient archives themselves.

”How long has Director Agou been working here?”

”For 528 years.”

”That’s a really long time... By the way, I’ve heard there are many precious ancient texts in this ancient archives. Might I borrow some for a look?”

”Of course!”

Wen Yu agreed with a big smile, yet deep inside, he felt an impending tension.

Something seemed to have gone wrong...
