Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Earth, Northeast Cathay, M City.

This place is now considered legendary—after all, from here emerged Wen Yu, the strongest warrior in the world!

But in this chaotic era, there aren’t any tourist attractions. For most people, things like Sequence Number 1 are just names they’ve heard. Where he lives or where he rose to prominence doesn’t matter; for ordinary citizens, life is nothing more than food, clothes, shelter, and perhaps battling some Demon Fiends to increase their strength, and that’s about it.

Plus, because M City is near Yanjing, it was evacuated more than a decade ago, and the entire city has become a playground for mutant creatures. Wen Yu’s old home—a shabby little rental—has also become a haven for some mutant creatures.

However, today it was visited by some uninvited guests.

...

Three figures walked along the devastated streets overgrown with greenery, unbothered by the occasional roar of some unknown creature. Their expressions were indifferent—even slightly carefree.

The wild is not a friendly place. Even intelligent mutant creatures are still mutant creatures, and all creatures have the basic needs of eating, drinking, and other necessities. The landlords here don’t mind having a couple of appetizers to change up their tastes.

Unfortunately, these three fellows are indeed intimidating...

One looks normal, standing at two meters tall, thin and frail, while another exceeds three meters in height, with a giant bull head on his neck and a battle axe reeking of blood on his shoulder—it’s this aura of blood that frightened off the omnipresent predators in the wild.

The one walking in the middle had a fluffy, explosive hairstyle, looked almost middle-aged, yet at just 1.2 meters tall, he presented a striking contrast. Judging by the attitude of the other two, this 1.2-meter figure was indeed the one in charge.

”We’re here...”

The 1.2-meter figure was the first to speak, then stopped at the entrance of Wen Yu’s old community, staring intently at the empty space in front, golden light swirling in his eyes.

”Amida, over here.”

After speaking, the 1.2-meter figure stamped his foot lightly. The tall, thin man named Amida nodded slightly, took two steps forward, and slowly stretched out his hands.

Starry sparks bloomed from Amida’s hands and merged into the air; thus, time began to flow!

Time around the three started rewinding, fleeting images flashed by—battles between mutant beasts and the Demon Tribe, fights between professionists and mutant beasts. Scenes previously occurring in this location were clearly presented to the three by Amida’s special technique.

Until Wen Yu’s figure appeared in the distance...

...

”Now there’s no going back, damn it, chased by a dead dog and can’t even return home. As a reborner, I’ve truly disgraced the Rebirth Army.”

Back then, Wen Yu was young and fierce, looking like a terrifying killer, albeit rather pitiable—his clothes barely covered him, his arm was severely swollen, and bloodstains lingered around his mouth.

This was right after the first hand-to-hand combat between Cyclops and Wen Yu...

The three watched Wen Yu’s monologue as though they were spectators transcending space and time, until the words ”reborner” escaped Wen Yu’s lips and the golden light in the 1.2-meter figure’s eyes gradually faded.

”He’s indeed a reborner... So the question arises, who resurrected you? Lovely little fellow, you know, secrets should be buried deep inside, sometimes talking to oneself can be deadly!”

The 1.2-meter figure spoke teasingly, his voice was thick and low. He stretched out his hands, seemingly reaching across eighteen years to slowly seize Wen Yu’s throat.

”So, is the task completed?”

The bull head spoke in a buzzing voice, recalling the years of eastward and westward pursuits, finally capturing the secret held by Sequence Number 1, overwhelmed by emotions.

”Since it’s confirmed that Wen Yu is the Demon Lord’s dark seed, let’s directly notify Golden Armor and issue a commando order to eliminate him.”

No one is foolish. With Wen Yu being a reborner, in the absence of intervention by the Dominator, who resurrected him is obvious—only a Level 12 powerful expert could do it!

Amida suggested, but the 1.2-meter figure shook his head as he watched Wen Yu on the screen fading away, and his eyes gleamed again.

”Don’t notify Golden Armor!”

”Don’t inform? Currently, everything on Earth is handled by Golden Armor. For such crucial matters, not informing him would breach protocol. After all... he is Sequence Number 1...”

Hearing Amida’s words, the 1.2-meter figure snorted coldly and walked away. It wasn’t until the bull head and Amida caught up that he shared his judgment.

”The Dominator has been absent from Earth for over a decade. During this time, Golden Armor managed most affairs. Seven years ago, the Dominator sent a carbon copy to evaluate the situation on Earth. Upon learning Wen Yu occupied Sequence Number 1’s position and defeated Tang Haofei utterly, he ordered an investigation into Wen Yu of Sequence Number 1. But some things in this don’t add up...”

”For example, didn’t you feel it too? During our investigation, it went smoothly while the Dominator’s carbon copy was present, but when it dissolved, there seemed to be a mysterious force subtly directing our investigation for seven years! Seven years! We finally found Wen Yu’s old home! Are I dumb or are you all foolish? I’ve worked under the Dominator for years and never encountered such a situation! Besides Golden Armor, I can’t think of anyone with the ability to interfere with us!”

A simple deduction...

To these Treasure Land Protectors, without the Dominator felt like losing their anchor, allowing various forces to emerge. Among them, Golden Armor undoubtedly stood out the most. Wen Yu lived in peace and hid away all these years, as deduced from the 1.2-meter figure’s words, suggesting Golden Armor might’ve played a major role.

”So... what do you really think?”

Amida looked at the 1.2-meter figure’s back and asked.

”Lure Wen Yu out, capture him, and await the Dominator’s return to handle his fate!”

The 1.2-meter figure established this plan—though well aware that both Tang Haofei and Wen Yu had the strength to defeat Level 11 powerful experts. Yet, not all Level 11 powerful experts are alike...

Coincidentally, the 1.2-meter’s Guardian number is 7, which is quite a prominent figure.
