Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

This is a piece of land, or it might be more appropriate to call it an island...

With an area of a few thousand square meters, from a distance, it’s just a tiny red dot, with the land roasted by the surrounding Magma Sea into a continuous haze, and dark red rocks emanating astonishing heat.

Who knows how Bai found this place, but a concealed, safe spot where one can land is quite rare amidst this vast Magma Sea.

A group of people flew in from afar and, upon landing, immediately let out a relieved sigh. Even Wen Yu couldn’t help but wipe the sweat off his forehead.

In such a high-risk environment, even being on guard consumes a lot of energy, and the otherwise non-strenuous state of flight had become somewhat burdensome—this little landing spot came in just the nick of time.

”How long can we rest?”

Wen Yu asked first. For someone like him who is at the forefront, even a brief rest is enough to adjust his state. Moreover, as they get closer to the core of the Demon Realm’s profile, their enemies grow stronger, and the hardship of the upcoming journey is something Wen Yu has already anticipated.

A short break is very important for Wen Yu!

Who knew Baijust remained silent, communicating through an exchanged glance with Wen Yu, while pulling out a pile of miscellaneous items from the space ring.

There were defensive items, and items to isolate perception when used by Bai, a multitude of colorful lights instantly encompassed the entire island, making it seem as though the island vanished from the world from an outside perspective.

After finishing this, Bai looked around. Ye Nan was still standing there dumbfounded, while Ye Nan’s Avengers were sitting on the ground in frustration, silent — they already regretted joining this expedition. Only Wen Yu maintained the same mindset he had upon entering the place.

Right now, who still has the power to fight? Who can provide the greatest help? Bai knew at a glance.

Thus, Bai’s Spiritual Fluctuation was unsurprisingly transmitted to Wen Yu’s ears.

”There’s no need to keep moving forward. I have the means to directly enter the core of the Demon Realm, though the process is somewhat dangerous.”

Upon hearing Bai’s words, Wen Yu just nodded slightly. What’s considered dangerous is naturally nothing to him, since Bai dares to act like this, what is there for Wen Yu to fear?

While conveying Spiritual Fluctuation to Wen Yu, Bai’s hands didn’t stop moving. He first took a pristine jade stone from the space ring and handed it to Wen Yu, explaining, ”A locating device. Once my means take effect, we may get separated temporarily after reaching the target location, you can use it to find me.”

Wen Yu received the jade stone and watched as Bai retrieved a big pile of jumbled items from the space ring. He extended his hand to strike the ground with an Energy Wave, creating a big pit, where Bai then buried the items deeply, finally letting out a sigh of relief.

”Is it done?”

Facing Wen Yu’s inquiry, Bai simply nodded, ”It’s done, now we just wait. Whether we succeed or not depends on whether heaven blesses us.”

Life and death are fated, wealth and honor are in the heavens, no problem with that.

...

The wait seemed somewhat long.

In contrast to the Avengers, Bai and Wen Yu were somewhat in the know, so the two sat on the scorching stones, closing their eyes and resting, staying calm like old dogs, but Ye Nan’s Avengers did not have the same peace of mind. About one hour later, their fatigue had been cleared after resting, and seeing Bai and Wen Yu unmoved, the Avengers enjoyed the leisure, just lying on the ground contemplating life.

Three hours later, some of the Avengers were unable to contain their doubts, their eyes repeatedly darting between Bai and Wen Yu, prompting whispers and subdued conversations until Leoja stepped out as the spokesperson.

”Uh, Lord Bai, could you tell us your next plan...”

Leoja cautiously approached Bai, asking respectfully — it’s like waiting for the guillotine to fall, they had no clue about Bai’s intentions, and this lack of knowledge was undeniably casting a psychological shadow.

Bai just smiled and shook his head, indicating for everyone to be patient—with Bai’s tight-lipped demeanor, Leoja had no choice but to crawl back to the Avengers’ circle and shake his head to them.

The whispering grew even louder...

Wen Yu merely watched the Avengers’ performance while incessantly emitting Perception Ability, thoroughly sensing all changes around.

Until another three hours passed.

...

”Glug~~”

”Glug~~”

Out of nowhere, various sized bubbles began to surface in the Magma Sea surrounding the island. To Wen Yu, who had all Perception Ability activated, the sound of these bubbles popping was incredibly jarring.

Wen Yu suddenly opened his eyes, staring intently at the location where the bubbles arose, simultaneously transmitting a Spiritual Fluctuation to Bai.

”Is it this?”

Bai nodded slightly, watching the Magma Sea not far away, slowly narrowing his eyes.

The sound of bubbles popping grew louder and more frequent. In no time, even the Avengers sensed something was amiss.

”Lord Bai, what is this...”

Leoja’s panicked voice broke in, his feet moving quickly to Bai’s side — in his mind, in the face of unknown circumstances, staying close to Bai seemed the safest option.

Leoja’s move was like the start of a race, and in no time, all six Avengers practically leaped to Bai’s side at the same moment, while Bai just stood up, directing Ye Nan to stand beside him, binding Ye Nan’s body securely to himself with one hand while grabbing Leoja’s tail with the other.

”Master, what are you doing?”

Leoja was full of confusion, and Bai saw no more need for secrecy; he bellowed out loud.

”Hold on to those around you, the thing that’s about to appear will take us to our target location, but this process... may not be pleasant!”

Bai’s voice undoubtedly became the last straw that broke the camel’s back, sending the few Avengers present into instant chaos. As for Wen Yu, he did not partake in the chaos; instead, he spread his Perception Ability wide, staring in utter amazement at the gigantic creature below them!

It was a Giant Hydra Dragon of unknown length — its sleek body covered with scales and barbs, the serpentine head bearing three unevenly sized horns. At this moment, this enormous monster seemed attracted by something, swirling beneath the island, stirring up waves, its eyes blending magma coloration, shimmering with pure desire.

”The Devourer, the Magma Sea’s Cleaner.”

Bai concisely explained to Wen Yu the origin of this creature. In the next second, the Devourer’s massive tail flicked, its jaws opened wide, skyrocketing upward like a rocket, aiming straight at the island!
