Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

After sending off Faceless, Wen Yu turned around and looked at the remaining soul pets.

Four pairs of eyes, big or small, stared intently at Wen Yu. Their emotions were complex and difficult to decipher, containing desire, confusion, and even a bit of reluctance.

Not everyone can accept the transformation from a divine beast seed to the Demon Tribe—Cyclops and Luo Luo didn’t care at all. Cyclops was never an inherent divine beast seed and had been with Wen Yu the longest, while Luo Luo only cared about his own tribe. However, Star and Victor developed some resistance to this aspect.

This was just a minor mental knot. Wen Yu had long discussed these matters with the soul pets; there was no need to mention dissolving the contract, as no one would agree. The only remaining options were staying in the Demon Realm forever or changing their race.

The choice was naturally self-evident.

After a moment of silence, Wen Yu finally muttered.

”Soon, be patient; we’ll be able to return to Earth soon.”

”Really...but...”

Victor still appeared hesitant. Wen Yu understood that he merely wanted to ask in what identity they would return to Earth. However, Wen Yu couldn’t provide any definite answer.

After finishing lunch, Wen Yu once again sent the soul pets back to the Soul Realm space before closing his eyes.

A deep voice echoed in the darkness.

”Dream come true...”

...

Bai did not understand Wen Yu’s difficulty—he hadn’t thought about how the existence of soul pets might interfere with Wen Yu. However, Bai had explained to Wen Yu clearly how to escape from the Dominator, and the choice Wen Yu made was none of Bai’s concern.

In fact, Bai’s troubles were far more numerous than Wen Yu’s. In a month, Wen Yu hadn’t seen Bai’s figure at all and didn’t know what Bai was setting up, but due to Wen Yu’s arrival, the entire Desolate Border changed significantly.

The most obvious change was the emergence of a super guard, enabling the First City of the Desolate Frontier to sweep away all the Level 11 powerful experts across the Desolate Border in a very short time. The influence expanded greatly, and the First City quietly took over the entire Desolate Border. Leoja and Ye Nan laughed to the point of not being able to close their mouths, and their attitudes towards Wen Yu improved significantly—they treated Wen Yu as if he were an ancestor.

After all Level 11 powerful experts were slaughtered, Wen Yu had nothing else to do, spending every day in his room. He either used Dream Come True to strengthen himself and his soul pets or studied the Soul Abiogenetic Creation Skill. Information from Earth was also passed to Wen Yu through Faceless and Mountain Kui, but everything was generally peaceful—the apparent absence of Wen Yu didn’t stir up any waves—apart from the sequence ranking, but that no longer concerned Wen Yu.

Faceless’s task, however, encountered some obstacles. The Treasure Land Protectors were like recluses staying within their treasure land, and since Faceless wasn’t a professionist, he couldn’t get into the treasure land, and there were too few Treasure Land Protectors going out, and even those who were outmatched were insanely powerful. Seeing the long road back, Wen Yu even entertained the irrational idea of returning to cause a massacre.

Time passed by in this way, and it was as if Wen Yu had disappeared from the world. Besides Ye Nan occasionally visiting Wen Yu, even the City Lord of the First City of the Desolate Frontier, Leoja, seemed to have forgotten Wen Yu’s existence.

This situation persisted for three years until Wen Yu awaited Bai’s return.

...

From Bai’s face, Wen Yu could see both his exhaustion and deeply hidden excitement. As soon as he pushed open Wen Yu’s door, he shouted in an excited tone, ”Wen Yu! I need your help, you haven’t forgotten, have you?”

Bai, the old fox, with his voice so excited that it changed tone, was enough to prove the kind of surprise he encountered, yet these had little to do with Wen Yu. Wen Yu simply nodded slightly, indicating that he would keep his promise!

”That’s good! That’s good.”

Bai rubbed his hands together, appearing to enter a peculiar state of excitement, pacing uneasily in Wen Yu’s room and even kicking a couple of Level 10 demon beast corpses. Finally, Bai seemed to make a decision, biting his teeth hard.

His eyes became bloodshot, staring at Wen Yu, and finally, he uttered a time.

”In one week, you’ll come with me.”

”For what?”

”Just protect me as I enter a certain place and then buy me some time.”

The speaker was ambiguous, and the listener paid little attention.

Bai saved Wen Yu’s life; this was an undisputed fact. Bai dedicated himself to Wen Yu’s affairs, not only helping Wen Yu solve his own big troubles but also telling Wen Yu countless secrets exclusive to Level 11 powerful experts. Although Wen Yu didn’t mention entrusting Bai with his life, dying once or twice for Bai would definitely be no issue for Wen Yu.

A promise once made must be fulfilled. Throughout, Wen Yu’s credibility isn’t too bad—although Wen Yu can’t be considered a gentleman, he’s not a villain either.

Seeing Wen Yu nodding in agreement, Bai’s mood elevated even more. He muttered some things that Wen Yu couldn’t understand while pacing back and forth in Wen Yu’s room. His aura seemed demonic, radiating chaotic energy fluctuations.

This truly had to be something significant...

Observing Bai’s condition, Wen Yu squinted, faintly sensing the troublesome nature of the matter. Bai muttered for quite a while before he came to his senses. He looked at Wen Yu, stated ”I’ll come to pick you up in a week”, and then left Wen Yu’s room.

Left alone in the room, Wen Yu scratched his head, contemplating what kind of major event could cause Bai to lose his composure.

...

In the days that followed, everything was calm and uneventful. Bai’s return didn’t cause any impact on the First City of the Desolate Frontier. During this period, Bai held an exclusive banquet for the city’s high-level officials. Besides Wen Yu, the only attendees were Bai, Ye Nan, and Ye Nan’s Avengers.

At the banquet, Wen Yu attempted several times to ascertain what Bai intended to do, but Bai easily brushed him off with a few words, leaving Wen Yu feeling a bit helpless.

Bai was very tight-lipped, but his abnormal excitement always left Wen Yu uneasy.

In the blink of an eye, the week’s deadline arrived as scheduled.

...

On this day, Wen Yu made all the necessary preparations—he had already suspected that this time Bai’s request might be exceedingly dangerous.

He retrieved all his soul pets back into the Soul Realm space, including the Almighty Demon Vine that seemed to have grown in this room, also tucked away, hidden in his right hand.

About an hour later, Bai’s voice came from outside the door.

”Wen Yu, it’s time.”
