Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

It was naturally impossible for Cyclops to find Wen Yu’s location. Whether the Heaven-covering Robe could fool the Dominator was another matter. However, if the Heaven-covering Banner of the Immortal Emperor coupled with the Demon Lord’s personal and fitting tailoring couldn’t fool a Level 11 powerful expert, it would tarnish the names of the Immortal Emperor and the Demon Lord.

Cyclops merely wanted to bluff Wen Yu and did not expect Wen Yu to actually take the bait.

As for Wen Yu, he simply quietly retracted the concealment effect of the Heaven-covering Robe, and stood openly at a location beyond ten thousand meters to the right of Cyclops.

Wen Yu had no reason not to respond—they wanted to capture Wen Yu, that was their business, but Wen Yu chose this place, and it wasn’t to escape! If the Heaven-covering Robe could truly deceive the Dominator, then Wen Yu might have chosen to use its concealment ability to quietly hide under the Dominator’s nose, yet there was one fact that couldn’t be ignored here.

The Heaven-covering Robe is still a tool under the professionist system, subject to suppression by it. Whether it can fool the Dominator, Wen Yu was unsure—perhaps it could, perhaps not. Maybe when the Dominator was careless, it could; but when the Dominator became serious, it could not! There were too many variables inside, and the Heaven-covering Robe had never gone through a direct test with the Dominator.

The Immortal Emperor once owned the Heaven-covering Banner, but wasn’t driven to desperation by the Dominator? It could only serve as a backup. Wen Yu’s main option lay in the plan given by Bai.

And that plan required a magic crystal from the mind of a Treasure Land Protector...

So, whether it could be fought or not, Wen Yu was determined to fight this battle, not only to fight but to achieve a result, to claim a life!

Unfortunately, the three guys who came this time didn’t seem to be easy foes to deal with...

...

”Please stand down, my lord, I respect you as Lord Sequence Number 1, which is why I’ve been advising you so much. In this battle, I am backed by the Dominator, you have no chance.”

Even at this moment, Cyclops’s words were filled with humble respect toward Wen Yu. A Level 11 powerful expert—especially an incredibly strong Level 11 powerful expert, being so humble toward a Level 7 professionist, sounded more like a joke.

But Wen Yu did not laugh; he only stared at Cyclops, hesitated for a moment, then asked.

”You don’t have any killing intent...”

”I could never have any killing intent towards Lord Sequence Number 1!”

”So can I understand it as, your purpose this time is not to kill me, but to take me somewhere?”

Cyclops pondered and then nodded, ”The issues with you are beyond our authority to decide, and the name of Lord Sequence Number 1 is not something we can touch, so, we merely wish to invite you to change your residence first, await the return of the Dominator, and then listen to his rulings.”

A simple sentence, yet it pierced the fog like a sharp arrow, jolting Wen Yu awake!

”Wait, you mentioned awaiting the Dominator’s return... the Dominator is not on Earth now?”

”Uh...”

Cyclops’s eyes were blank, staring at Wen Yu, vaguely sensing that he might have misspoken...

...

The confrontation between two powers... Information will be a crucial factor in determining victory or defeat.

This aspect inherently placed Wen Yu at an absolute disadvantage—the skill system, skill effects, and specific strengths of Sequence Number 1 were not only recorded in Yanjing and various major forces but also surely more clearly with the Dominator. These Treasure Land Protectors’ investigations into Wen Yu must have grasped all the information from Wen Yu’s journey!

Wen Yu’s exact strength, skill combinations, the additional effects from skill pairings, assessments of maximum combat ability, all these things Cyclops and the others must have memorized by heart—but this timing was perfect; they surely knew Wen Yu had awakened the Divine Light and mastered Chaotic Power, yet Wen Yu’s Level 7 soul pet skills they likely did not know.

This was their disadvantage—Wen Yu leveling up once would gain several new skills, and these new skills combined with the existing ones were bound to create sparks, generate some special skill combinations and changes. In other words, every level was a new beginning for Wen Yu, spawning many new means against adversaries. This was their disadvantage, but it was the only disadvantage. In fact, Cyclops was unconcerned about it. He was confident that he possessed absolute power, no matter how great Wen Yu’s changes were, he couldn’t escape his grasp.

In fact, when coming, Cyclops had not considered the so-called informational advantage important—this matter was straightforward for him, make a trip, apprehend Wen Yu, then the task was accomplished.

You see, so simple, with Cyclops’s power it seemed almost like a tour—deep down, Cyclops never held Sequence Number 1 Wen Yu in high regard, not underestimating Wen Yu’s identity, just purely not valuing Wen Yu’s power.

Sequence Number 1... the strongest... heh, sorry, I was once a Sequence Number 1 of some world too...

Naturally, he became reckless and inadvertently revealed information regarding the Dominator’s whereabouts—he wasn’t on Earth!

Cyclops did not comprehend what this information truly meant to Wen Yu...

But Wen Yu understood!

That meant Wen Yu had unlocked his restraints! It meant Cyclops at this moment was truly about to face the most formidable power in this world!

...

Wen Yu had already prepared for death beforehand—releasing his soul pets, arranging Tang Haofei to settle the front line, keeping a low profile to minimize his influence. These were afterlife matters.

Indeed, Wen Yu was a lone wolf, but that didn’t mean Wen Yu was indifferent to the life and death of the entire world in the face of an unavoidable death trap. Wen Yu might flip the table, might go berserk, but he wouldn’t drag the entire world down with him! Perhaps the old Wen Yu would, but the current Wen Yu would not!

Because there’s no need...

Dead is dead, while some might say they wouldn’t care about the world after their death, truthfully that statement had two interpretations.

I could drag more people down before my death, or I could face death directly, disappear from the world without affecting it, all depending solely on the heart. Moreover, this time, nobody wronged Wen Yu, there was no need to kill more people over some nonsense matter concerning rebirth—including people and things he cared about...

The old Wen Yu wrapped himself with coldness but after knowing he was targeted by the Dominator and a great calamity was coming, Wen Yu firstly thought of himself, and then... his soul pets...

Those adorable little companions who had been with him for nearly twenty years, Cyclops, Star, Faceless, Victor, Luo Luo...

The Dominator only sought him, not them. Even if he was to die, with the soul pets’ power, they could survive well, Wen Yu indeed couldn’t let go of his soul pets.

Therefore, Wen Yu had made the worst-case plans beforehand.

If, at the first moment things got exposed, the Dominator wiped him out without question, then the soul pets didn’t need to die together for this... In that case, Wen Yu would terminate the contract with the soul pets at the last moment and face death directly!

In fact, when Cyclops and others found Wen Yu, he still hadn’t used the power of his soul pets—they were still leisurely living in their places, completely unaware of the mortal danger their leader was facing!

Wen Yu was afraid, afraid the Dominator would strike here to obliterate his existence, afraid his soul pets would die here pointlessly, although Wen Yu had Number One as a backup, he was still unsure whether a newborn world will could stop the Dominator’s rage!

So, the informational discrepancy limited Wen Yu’s combat capability—without the support of soul pet skills, killing a Level 11 powerful expert with his power was not impossible with his current strength. Killing a Treasure Land Protector and fleeing was the original plan. However, the strength of Cyclops and others was too strong, causing this plan to fall apart halfway.

But now, the emergence of new information—The Dominator not being on Earth. He lacked the ability to interfere with everything happening on Earth! He also no longer needed to face the assassin of a Level 12 boss! This meant the only thing Wen Yu was worried about vanished into thin air!

This was a lifeline! This meant time sided with Wen Yu!

Wen Yu could directly utilize the strongest power, end this battle quickly, then make a wild dash and implement the second part of his plan!

Everything then returned to the right track!

So, merely due to an offhand remark from Cyclops, the entire event reached another turning point!

That was the distinction between life and death!

This was the most deadly information... Not for Wen Yu, but for others.
