Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

The transfer plaza of the Star of Africa isn’t large; it’s messy, rugged, and worn, clearly neglected in management—according to the intelligence Wang Jie gathered, the Star of Africa has no sanitation workers or civil servants. The only official personnel here are the Earth Puppets, resembling clumps of dirt.

They are the guards, shop clerks, and protectors and enforcers of this city; they are the true masters of all beings here.

After five years, travelers to the Star of Africa have long understood the unprovokable nature of these clumps of dirt. Fortunately, they do not concern themselves with general matters—here, generally refers to anything apart from violations of law and order.

The Star of Africa, rather than a gathering place, is essentially a super large trading market.

Wang Jie looked around, the not-so-large square was teeming with endless streams of people, especially around several Exchange Stone Pillars, where crowds were waiting for transfers. Additionally, teams of enforcers—commonly known as Clumps of Dirt—were maintaining order.

After a few glances, Wang Jie followed the crowd toward the city’s interior.

...

For a first-time visitor to the Star of Africa, everything was novel, but this novelty didn’t last long, because really, there weren’t many commendable places. Following the crowd all the way to the main street, Wang Jie asked around casually and soon found his destination for this trip—the government purchase station.

The purchase station is located at the entrance of the main street of the Star of Africa, or rather, it is precisely because the government purchase station is here that this place qualifies as the main street.

The exterior appears rugged like always, but its area is vast, roughly the size of three football fields, with huge doors bustling with crowds. Every professionist who came out through the main door had a smile on their face, evidently having gained quite a bit.

Following the cautious demeanor of an Independent, Wang Jie paused at the door for a moment, confirmed there was no danger, and then proceeded.

Just after entering the door, before Wang Jie could observe the internal environment, a mud golem standing about one and a half meters tall walked straight up to him.

”Hello, guest.”

The Clump of Dirt’s voice was heavy and clear, and Wang Jie was quite curious about these things. But adhering to the principle that less trouble is better, he didn’t feel the need to explore, merely nodded, waiting for the Clump of Dirt, presumably a Servant here, to guide him.

”May I ask what you’d like to sell here? Demon Beast Corpses or Soul Crystal stones?”

”Both.”

While listening, Wang Jie responded and observed the internal layout of the government purchase station—a very spacious hall, mud golems lined both sides. Every time a guest came in, a mud golem would step forward to serve, and at the hall’s far end were three additional entrances, one with a sign for Demon Beast Corpses, another for Soul Crystal stones, and the middle one labeled VIP Channel.

Simple layout, but fully equipped.

”So, may I ask the quantity you want to trade?”

Upon hearing the Clump of Dirt, Wang Jie paused for a moment, then lifted his hands.

Ten space rings glittered in the sunlight on his hands...

”B-Class space rings, ten pieces, are they full?”

Wang Jie nodded; whether it was an illusion or not, Wang Jie felt the mud golem’s tone grew noticeably warmer afterward.

”Please follow me, guest.”

The mud golem turned and led Wang Jie to the hall’s end, entering the VIP Channel.

...

When Wang Jie left the government purchase station, the ten space rings hanging on his fingers were completely empty.

Recollecting the contents of the recent transaction.

”The Demon Beast Corpses total valued at 25,222 Level 6 magic crystals, and the Soul Crystal stones at 121,524 Level 6 magic crystals, attributes random.”

A satisfying transaction, Wang Jie walked out with the same smile others bore on their faces, unable to resist another glance at the space rings.

The heap of magic crystals piling into small mountains practically blinded Wang Jie.

”Glad it wasn’t in vain, all those battles over more than a year...”

A Sequence-class powerful expert, after a year’s battles, exchanged things of no use to him for nearly 150,000 Level 6 magic crystals—no doubt, a pure profit!

At this moment, Wang Jie felt a bit grateful to that lord; if it weren’t for that lord’s unconditional acquisition of Demon Beast Corpses and so-called Soul Energy, where else would he obtain so many magic crystals?

Furthermore...

The magic crystals are just the beginning...

At this thought, Wang Jie changed direction, promptly heading deeper into the main street.

...

Inside the government skills store, Wang Jie looked at the plethora of skills on the tablet, carefully comparing them with the skills he had, for a while, he gently shook his head.

”Too low-level...”

Even though he knew beforehand that the government skills store only sold C-Class, B-Class, and A-Class skills, but having come all the way to the Star of Africa, not visiting the renowned skills store seemed lacking to Wang Jie.

The mud golem beside him responded respectfully: ”Guest, if you wish for higher-level skills, you can visit the government auction house; there, every month, an auction is held where S-Class and higher-level skills appear.”

Upon hearing something similar to what Zhang Changong said, Wang Jie raised his eyebrows.
