Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

The dinner was delivered by the maid, including Wen Yu’s and Friday’s milk bottle.

Newborn Friday will probably never taste breast milk in this lifetime...

Childcare, this was Wen Yu’s first experience in his life, and of course, this experience was far from pleasant — Friday’s cries left Wen Yu frazzled.

Fortunately, Wen Yu had a powerful weapon!

Soul Power, like a warm bath, gently soothed Friday’s pure soul. Under this power, Friday slowly drifted off to sleep, finally giving Wen Yu a moment to gather his thoughts about today’s events.

Wen Yu had roughly learned from the guards that this Ancient Demon seemed to have snuck into the New Hope Assembly Site from the outside, but the exact target of its actions and the true strategic purpose of the Ancient Demon were beyond even Wen Yu’s calculations.

Seeing Ray still staying in the room with no intention of going out, Wen Yu sighed and turned back to his own room.

At this moment, Ray needed neither comfort nor disturbance; he simply needed solitude.

A silent night.

…

Early the next morning, Wen Yu was feeding Friday when a knock on the door sounded.

”Come in.”

”Creak.”

The sound of the door opening, footsteps, and Ray’s voice all sounded together: ”Thank you, sir, truly thank you!”

Wen Yu turned around and looked at Ray, who had regained his composure — the pain of losing a wife was not easily soothed, and Wen Yu couldn’t tell if Ray was genuinely strong or pretending to be strong.

But one undeniable fact was that Ray in this state could definitely be more effective than the Ray who sobbed loudly yesterday.

”Sit.”

Wen Yu gestured to the chair beside him, and when he saw Ray sitting down, he placed Friday in Ray’s arms.

”Thank you.”

While stroking Friday, Ray thanked Wen Yu again, to which Wen Yu only shook his head with a smile, waiting for Ray to speak.

Ray wouldn’t come to him so early without a reason, which implied that after yesterday’s grief, Ray had quickly entered another frame of mind...

”The Demon Tribe is launching a massive attack, and the Ancient Demon from yesterday was merely a vanguard.”

Ray quickly got to the point, beginning to detail the results of his investigation from last night—though the humans on the African Continent were not tightly unified, the assembly sites still communicated amongst each other.

Moreover, above these assembly sites, there was the existence of the Earth Community!

”Just yesterday, the South Africa Assembly Site fell. A singularly powerful demon fiend single-handedly turned the entire South Africa Assembly Site into a sea of flames!”

”The Nigeria Assembly Site fell, all Level 5 professionists in the site were killed overnight, and last night, near the Nigeria Assembly Site, large numbers of demon fiends surged from the Demon Realm’s Gate, and this morning’s news reported that all survivors in the Nigeria Assembly Site were slaughtered!”

”Egyptian Assembly Site narrowly escaped; now Cathay’s Eternal Sky City has opened a teleportation channel there and is moving the population to Yanjing. However, yesterday’s attack by a demon fiend still caused significant casualties at the Egyptian Assembly Site!”

”The largest mutant beast herd in Africa—led by the Lion King—engaged in an intensely energetic battle last night. Early today, human scouts near the Lion King’s territory found the Lion King, gravely injured, close to death, carrying hundreds of different viruses.”

”Furthermore... assembly site leaders assassinated yesterday numbered fifteen, and even three divine beasts were killed!”

”Early today, enormous energy reactions were detected at all Demon Realm’s Gates within Africa, confirming that the Demon Tribe is about to launch a massive invasion of Africa. Based on calculations, the scale of this invasion will likely be stronger than any previous demon plague!”

A torrent of battle intelligence was relayed by Ray, but the underlying information was far from pleasant—a few dozen demon fiend vanguard teams had already dealt unimaginable devastation to the African Continent!

How should the battle proceed afterwards?

Wen Yu, with his meager military knowledge, couldn’t imagine how to resolve such a dire situation.

Fortunately, the fate of nations didn’t require Wen Yu to fret.

”And what about the Earth Community?”

Wen Yu tapped the desktop as he asked Ray.

”The leader of the Earth Community, Lin Haifeng, issued a communiqué this morning. Currently, applications to open teleportation channels in the Eternal Sky City can be made, allowing each African assembly site to temporarily take refuge in the Eternal Sky City.”

Ray’s expression didn’t look good, because Lin Haifeng’s words could entirely be interpreted in another way: ”Africa can’t be defended; hurry to Yanjing and become my subordinates!”

Wen Yu suddenly fell silent. The scattered assembly sites on the African Continent indeed had dispersed power; yet if these sites were united, they amounted to over a billion people!

With such a massive population base, Wen Yu could imagine with his toes the potential strength—it was evident Lin Haifeng was using this event to gather the African Continent’s population into a powerful force.

It’s hard to say if this idea is right or wrong—to exchange a continent’s land for more than a billion people, but...

”And the mutant beasts in Africa? Just going to abandon them?”

”I heard Yanjing will dispatch Sea Clan to transport promising mutant beasts to Asia...”

Lin Haifeng’s Sea King control plan was already showing preliminary results.

Wen Yu knowingly nodded—this indeed seemed like Lin Haifeng’s approach.

He just wanted to enact a scorched earth policy on the African Continent: the Demon Tribe wants a place? Sure, I’ll let you have it first, but don’t even think about taking away the talented and combat-ready people on this land.

Lin Haifeng’s decision seemed no problem to Wen Yu—a multitude of chaotic assembly sites increased the risk of being defeated piecemeal by the Demon Tribe; in such a case, it seemed wiser to consolidate humans and mutant beasts into a super assembly site, forming a local advantage to confront the Demon Tribe!

However...

This situation wasn’t great news for Wen Yu...

The Sixth Soul Pet that Wen Yu had booked hadn’t even been born yet!

With this thought, Wen Yu frowned and sighed: ”And you? Have you decided what to do?”

”The survivors of New Hope Assembly Site will evacuate, including Friday, and will head to Yanjing...”

This indeed seemed like the best strategy.

”But I won’t leave!”

When Ray said this, his tone was unprecedentedly firm.

”I don’t want to go to Yanjing; I want to stay here and have a good contest with those Demon Bastards!”

From Ray’s eyes, Wen Yu saw an emotion known as ”revenge.”

Like flames, burning through Ray’s reason...
