Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

The distant fleeting energy fluctuations and Victor’s sudden disappearance naturally caught Wen Yu’s attention on the city wall.

Looking at the nearly kilometer-wide empty space that suddenly appeared ahead, Wen Yu remained expressionless, neither happy nor sad.

The Bone Demon hidden in the shadows sneakily cast fireballs, its strategy extremely cunning and its intent quite obvious — it was meant to lure Victor.

As Wen Yu’s Fifth soul pet, Victor’s overall abilities were considered the strongest, especially in the areas of search, assassination, and decapitation. With its powerful concealment ability and presence in the Netherworld, Victor was particularly well-suited to capture a Demon Fiend amidst the vast demonic tide.

Before the battle began, Wen Yu had already speculated about the Demon Tribe’s setup. It was simply a matter of gradually eliminating his minions, so Wen Yu decided to turn the tables by intentionally letting Victor, along with all his soul pets, fall into a trap and engage those demons directly in the Demon Tribe’s trap!

Doing so indeed posed risks, but based on the intelligence concerning the Demon Tribe’s high-level combat forces, such risks were entirely bearable — even if all the Demon Tribe’s elite forces acted openly, Wen Yu believed that the four soul pets he had trained could match them well.

Moreover, the Sky Eye System of the Earth Community had already detected the whereabouts of two Demon Fiends.

The walking tree was located several thousand kilometers from the New Hope Assembly Site, resting quietly as if it were lifeless.

Meanwhile, the Ancient Demon code-named Black Light was currently within the Demonic Clan Front Command.

...

Watching the Third Generation Seed of Flames disappear alongside Victor, Zero’s eyes remained calm and unmoved, with neither joy from Victor’s trap nor fear of Wen Yu seeing through the tactics.

”Did... it succeed?”

The cautious inquiry came from the Demon Clan Frontline Commander behind, met only with a cold snort from Zero.

Zero disdained answering the commander’s question.

After a moment, seeing that Wen Yu had no further actions atop the city wall and that the black light shield above the New Hope Assembly Place remained as tough and stubborn as a turtle’s shell, Zero waved his hand to summon the frontline commander.

”Push the main force up!”

”Yes, my lord.”

With the command given, the commander went away, while Zero retrieved a communication device from the space ring.

”Hiero Wales, how is the mission on your end going?”

...

Hiero Wales…

Hearing the familiar name coming from the communicator, it took the Third Generation Seed of Plague a moment to react and come back to reality.

Hiero Wales, that was his previous name.

After a pause, the Third Generation Seed of Plague finally responded: ”The virus has been implanted, and the plague has begun to spread; it can be activated at any time.”

The voice of the Third Generation Seed of Plague sounded somewhat stifled, the quiet sound resonating in cycles, interwoven with the drips of liquid.

”Good, that’s fine.”

Zero responded from the other side of the communicator: ”The fish have taken the bait, hooking four big ones at once. Diers’ side will likely be unable to swallow it all. They won’t last much longer; now execute Plan B!”

”Understood!”

After ending the call with the Third Generation Seed of Plague, Zero issued another command.

As this command was delivered, the distant Catastrophe Ancient Tree began to shake its branches and slowly stood up.

Countless roots intertwined, forming eight stout and solid giant legs, and the colossal body of the Catastrophe Ancient Tree, towering a thousand meters high, slowly lumbered towards the New Hope Assembly Place like a mountain. A rumbling sound, akin to an earthquake, suddenly echoed.

Purple streams of air spread around the Catastrophe Ancient Tree’s body, the stench overpowering even the smell of rotting Demonic Qi in the air. As the Catastrophe Ancient Tree approached the battlefield, all Demon Fiends along the way fled, for even a second’s delay meant being liquefied by the purple air currents surrounding the tree.

”Huff... puff... huff... puff...”

With every breath, the tree tumours on the Catastrophe Ancient Tree began to become active, opening wide like greedy mouths, producing a bizarre tone.

Perceiving the distant movement of the Catastrophe Ancient Tree, Zero finally sighed in relief, then cast his gaze towards the distant New Hope Assembly Place.

”It’s all up to you now.”

Zero succinctly said to the commander beside him, before stepping back a few paces. His figure then vanished into the vast Demon Army behind him, disappearing without a trace.
