Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Night fell, and the skirmish near the coastline was drawing to a close.

When the last few hundred mutant beasts were enjoying their feast on the blood-soaked beach, a scarlet flame descended from the sky, instantly turning the entire beach into a sea of fire!

These ’last winners’ couldn’t even let out a scream before they turned into ash!

They fulfilled their wish—to die a full ghost...

The fire came swiftly and disappeared just as quickly. When the blaze faded, a sinister figure, three meters tall, slowly appeared near the beach.

Smelling the scent of grilled meat in the air, the Third Generation Seed of Flames opened its mouth wide, letting out a bizarre sound that was neither a cry nor a laugh!

”Not letting me kill! Not letting me fight! Why the hell did you send me here, goddammit!”

The Third Generation Seed of Flames’ violent and frantic emotions were completely unrestrained, and the flames on its horns suddenly flared up, like two blazing torches.

A few days ago, the Third Generation Seed of Flames directly obliterated the South Africa Assembly Site, originally tasked with defending the coastline. However, with a single order from Legas, all its desires for slaughter were reduced to mere fantasies.

It watched helplessly as the Sea Clan swaggered off, transporting its prey out of the African Continent!

”You know Sequence Number 2 is in Africa, if we cause a big commotion and draw Sequence Number 2 over, we might not be able to handle the consequences.”

Zero’s calm and indifferent voice came from behind the Third Generation Seed of Flames, but it only elicited a disdainful snort.

Sequence Number 2, of course, the Third Generation Seed of Flames knew about it, but just knowing wasn’t the same as feeling intimidated—after all, as one of the top Level 5 Demon Tribe beings, the Third Generation Seed of Flames might be frenzied and a bit neurotic, but it certainly possesses its due arrogance.

”You also understand the power of Soul Skills, Soul Battlefield, phew, it’s basically a super weapon. I reckon Sequence Number 2 could take on three of us singlehandedly!”

”However... won’t be swaggering for much longer.”

Zero changed tack, successfully grabbing the Third Generation Seed of Flames’ attention.

”How so?”

”The latest intel just came through, Diers has crossed the Demon Realm’s Gate, and Lord Demon Spirit has sent a Soul Abiogenetic Creation to the Battle Zone Africa. Plus the Catastrophe Ancient Tree, with Lord Demon Spirit’s two Soul Abiogenetic Creations, Sequence Number 2’s Soul Battlefield won’t pose much of a threat now. Lord Legas is concentrating forces, waiting for both Soul Abiogenetic Creations to cross realms before launching our counterattack!”

Upon hearing this news, the flames on the Third Generation Seed of Flames’ horns grew even larger as it gently licked its lips, unable to resist asking.

”When?”

”Soon, maybe three to five days, or slow, half a month. The Catastrophe Ancient Tree’s size is too large, some special means are needed to pass through the Demon Realm’s Gate.”

”But it doesn’t matter for now, professionists and mutant beasts across the African Continent are retreating, those unable or unwilling to leave are gathering in Sequence Number 2’s established base in central Africa, meaning the following tasks are simple enough!”

”As long as we uproot Sequence Number 2’s base, there’ll be no more resistance across the entire African Continent!”

”Simple! Straightforward! Direct! How’s that? Like it?”

The Third Generation Seed of Flames nodded with satisfaction, as if already witnessing Sequence Number 2’s painstakingly built camp being devoured by the Demon Army in its entirety.

...

Luo Luo stood amid the Big Lion’s mane, enjoying the wind in its face, its antennae excitedly swaying back and forth.

Luo Luo liked this feeling—being an Insect Tribe mutant, Luo Luo had lived in a sunless burrow from birth until Demonic Qi entered its body, evolving into a mutant beast. Only then did it develop more awareness of the fascinating world.

Compared to underground, the sunlight outside was truly beautiful, so beautiful...

But before Luo Luo could enjoy the world further, the African Continent had already been engulfed in relentless warfare.

It was lucky; compared to its fellow Ants, Luo Luo had taken the most critical step in evolution mutation. Yet it was also unfortunate, knowing that with the lowly power of a Level 1 mutant beast, it had no chance of surviving on the soon-to-be-warring African Continent.

The Big Lion weaved left and right, seemingly without a logical path, yet avoiding countless mutant beast packs and scattered Demon Fiends rushing to the coast attempting to flee the African Continent—though not powerful, the Big Lion’s escape prowess was indeed outstanding!

On board the Big Lion’s bus, Luo Luo journeyed all the way to central Africa.

...

As they neared their destination, there were fewer Demon Fiends ahead, but more mutant beasts.

Seeing this scene, Luo Luo finally breathed a sigh of relief—the gossip the Big Lion had heard was indeed true; there was a super large base here.

The Big Lion maintained its concealment, albeit sneakily, but without knowing whether there was danger ahead, it was indeed a wise choice.

However, here was different from outside—there were too many powerful mutant beasts here, the Big Lion’s previously acceptable stealth now seemed clumsy here.

A sound suddenly emanated from the grass ahead, the Big Lion hidden behind a slope trembled, then tightened its muscles, its massive body retreating slowly like a nimble big cat.

Always ready to flee, uh-huh, this was the survival instinct engrained in the Big Lion’s bones!

Until a gentle ”meow meow” entered their ears, and a beautiful black kitten emerged from the grass.

Pure black fur, soft like silk, with eyes that sparkled like gems, staring unblinkingly at the Big Lion.

Seeing this, the Big Lion instead relaxed, for this little creature before it had no detectable aura—it was just like an ordinary, non-mutated kitten.

”Safe.”

The Big Lion said without turning its head, then from the mane came a shiver, as a big round head with long antennae popped out.

”Just a kitten?”

”Yes, not mutated.”

Gazing at the kitten lying not far away, the Big Lion reacted after a moment, shaking its huge head.

”By the way, Luo Luo, are you hungry?”

”Um... Should we eat it...”

Seeing the adorable kitten before them, Luo Luo felt hesitant: ”Maybe not.”

Just as these words fell, Luo Luo heard a rumbling sound emanating from the Big Lion’s stomach.

The Big Lion had been dodging and hiding along the way, hardly eating anything decent, and was indeed desperate enough to eat just about anything now.

”If you won’t eat it, I will.”

The Big Lion reached up and lifted Luo Luo from atop its head, placed it on the ground, then excitedly rubbed its front paws and pounced toward the kitten with a roar.

Then, something happened that left Luo Luo dumbfounded.

Luo Luo saw the black kitten just slightly move its front paw, and the Big Lion stumbled, falling face-first to the ground, bruised and battered, utterly embarrassed.

The kitten spoke: ”Newcomers? Unaware of the rules? No mutual hunting among mutant beasts allowed here! As fellow feline creatures, I had considered lending you a helping hand, but now, forget it, we’ll leave all that aside and follow me to be my laborers!”
