Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

In less than ten minutes, the crowded group of animals near the river was all infected by the Plague. Their flesh rotted, their bones became brittle, and then turned to ashes under the scorching sun, swept away by the wind in all directions.

With the help of these ashes, the Plague spread further, quickly extending from the cave where the Third Generation Seed of Plague perished. The surging green light swept through, causing animals to rot and melt, even plants began to wither and dissolve. Wherever the green light passed, vitality disappeared from the land, leaving no life behind.

There’s no quicker way of slaughter than this.

Similarly, at this stage, there’s no faster means to break the Level Lock.

A certain powerful force hovering above Earth began to loosen and then gradually collapsed.

...

”For the Demon Tribe!”

Perceiving the demise of friends, transforming into endless curses and sources of Plague, contributing dramatically to Legas’s Battle Zone Africa’s strategy, the Third Generation Seed of Destruction sighed.

So-called seeds, so-called potential stocks, so-called next-generation geniuses, in the eyes of those at the top of the Demon Tribe, are but pawns that can be easily discarded.

Unable to tell if it’s desolation or anger, Zero glanced at the still tranquil New Hope Assembly Site ahead, and the indestructible black light shield enveloping above it, a trace of unexplained gleam flashed in his eyes.

”Initiate another attack, don’t let them idle.”

”Yes, my lord.”

The commander left to fulfill the order, and Zero’s figure gradually disappeared into the demonic tide.

...

A few hours later, the Demon Tribe’s attack struck once more.

This did not surprise Wen Yu—though the high-end powerful experts had been roughly cleared, the remaining Demon Tribe’s troops were still formidable.

The life of demon fiends is not recognized as life; this viewpoint is not only for those of Earth but also the Demon Tribe’s perception of low-grade demonic creatures: using low-grade cannon fodder to expend the strength of powerful experts—this is the rightful value of cannon fodder—Wen Yu, who was cannon fodder in the past life, understands this well.

However…

”Maybe they don’t realize the more they fight, the stronger we become?”

At this thought, Wen Yu almost burst into laughter—for this nonsensical explanation might even astonish the Cyclops.

Wen Yu couldn’t fathom the intentions behind the Demon Tribe’s actions and could only use this completely illogical answer to deal with his own suspicion—no matter the truth, they attack, Wen Yu defends, harvests, absorbs…

Indeed, this is the only thing Wen Yu can do now.

The pitch-dark light curtain remained intact under the demon fiends’ long-range strikes; far from consuming Wen Yu’s strength, even weaker energy attacks were absorbed and digested by the dark power, becoming part of the darkness itself, providing endless energy to the pitch-dark light curtain.

Green light surged once more at the right hand, sky-high vines spread out centered on Wen Yu, covering the land with a verdant green carpet.

Exactly the same…

The current offense and defense are identical to when the New Hope Assembly Place defense battle first started, meaning the outcome remains unchanged.

No matter how persistent and effortful the demon fiends outside are, attempting to breach Wen Yu’s defense is undoubtedly a pipe dream!

Yet, after all, there’s still something different...

...

”Boss, let me go out and have some fun.”

The Cyclops bore a lecherous grin on his newly grown dog’s head, wagging his head and tail as he spoke to Wen Yu, only to be refused with a shake of Wen Yu’s head.

”Don’t rush, there will be a time for you to fight.”

With a quick dismissal, Wen Yu patted the Cyclops’s head, signaling the cumbersome big guy to find somewhere cool to hang about.

Disappointed, the Cyclops turned away; every movement in his enormous battle form brought intense rumblings.

Listening to the ”boom” of footsteps receding, Wen Yu was pondering the potential actions the Demon Tribe might initiate next when a sudden loud bang startled Wen Yu out of his thoughts.

Wen Yu immediately looked sideways.

Only to see the Cyclops’s enormous figure not far away, collapsing to the ground as if a mountain had crumbled, his muscles twitching incessantly, Wen Yu could even witness the rapid undulating muscle tissue under the Cyclops’s skin, like waves.

His massive mouth opened up, revealing a forked tongue and deeper crimson esophagus.

And then came the howl!

”Woo woo... Woof woof woof...”

The wild dog’s roar spread far, a heartbreaking howl seemed to tell the Cyclops’s pain at this moment.

Seeing this, Wen Yu immediately stood up.

”This is...?”

The sudden drastic change dazed Wen Yu momentarily, thoughts swirling in his mind—was the Cyclops poisoned? Injured? Did the Demon Tribe use some means?

A second later, Wen Yu shook off these messy thoughts, about to move closer to check on the Cyclops’s condition, when the heart-wrenching howl abruptly ceased!

”Woof woof...”

The huge dog that seemed on the brink of death just a moment ago stood up with a ”thud,” a face full of bewilderment, excitement, peculiarity, all sorts of expressions emerged, yet the previous pain and helplessness were nowhere to be seen.

Witnessing this, Wen Yu breathed a sigh of relief, a black light burst from his fingertips, heavily knocked on the Cyclops’s forehead.

”Damn it, you scared the hell out of me...”

Indeed, a moment ago, Wen Yu was startled by the Cyclops’s sudden ”attack,” even reacted a beat slower.

However, the Cyclops did not delight in a successful prank, only dazed in place for a long time before letting out an excited bark that soared to the sky.

”I reached Level 6!!!”

Wen Yu’s footsteps halted, his expression instantly changed.

This advancement, silent and unannounced, broke the Level Lock with such speed that Wen Yu was entirely unprepared!

...

The Cyclops successfully reached Level 6, an unexpected yet logical outcome.

As a Limit Breakthrough mutant beast, its physical constitution far surpassed Peak Level 5 vastly, the moment the Level Lock broke, creatures like the Cyclops needed no external aid to immediately advance—they differ from professionists, who need to undergo leveling trials, while mutant beasts only need energy.

And all three of Wen Yu’s soul pets, having all broken limits, reached the advancing standard long ago!

However, all of this has a premise.

The Level Lock being opened…

Just as the Cyclops’s barking began, Wen Yu hadn’t even had time to think much, when suddenly Star and Victor’s Spiritual Fluctuation flooded his mind.

”I advanced too, boss... Level 6, with an SSS-Class skill!”

Star’s Spiritual Fluctuation was full of excitement, just like the Cyclops, unaware of the implications of the Level Lock breaking!

”Big trouble...”

This was Victor’s Spiritual Fluctuation.

The excitement of advancing to Level 6 had Cyclops and Star bickering endlessly in Wen Yu’s mind, the buzzing sound coupled with the sudden change, Wen Yu’s mind was already a chaotic jumble.

Until the sky erupted with explosive black airflows, pulling Wen Yu back to reality.

At the moment Cyclops advanced, each Demon Realm’s Gate worldwide flashed with black light, erupting with massive Demonic Qi. The dense Demonic Qi resembling billowing black smoke, turning into surging tides spewing forth from the Demon Realm’s Gate, polluting Earth’s air, intensifying the Demonic Qi concentration, adapting it for higher-leveled demon fiends to descend upon the newly unlocked world!

Behind the Demon Realm’s Gate, sinister demonic shadows constantly surged, more, stronger, more agile, swifter, smarter, with far more terrifying destructive power, demon fiends bared their claws and fangs, only waiting for the Demonic Qi to fully discharge to invade this world whose Level Lock had just opened!

Observing the sky visibly turning grayish white, sensing numerous aurae afar, even in Wen Yu’s view regarded as formidable demon fiends, Wen Yu’s expression turned complex.

Soaring Demonic Qi akin to a battle challenge note blatantly conveyed the Demon Tribe’s intentions to Wen Yu.

Level 5 couldn’t deal with you, but how about Level 6, can you fight?
