Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

”Holiday?”

Upon hearing this unfamiliar term, the little trio immediately perked up their ears.

”Three months, I’ll let you guys go play for three months. You can do whatever you want, go wherever you please. How about it? Not bad, right?”

”Woof woof woof... Boss, you’ve finally shown mercy!”

”Meow... I want to go back to America for a bit...”

”I want to dive into the sea and catch fish to eat. Looks like I’ll finally have a chance.”

Upon hearing Wen Yu’s promise, the three soul pets immediately became excited, bouncing around energetically.

”Don’t make a noise, I’m sleeping.”

The little crow chimed in just in time, making its presence known, completely unaware that it was almost roasted by Cyclops.

Seeing the unstoppable excitement on the trio’s faces, a trace of an inexplicable expression flashed across Wen Yu’s face.

Perhaps, splitting up might be a better choice?

All along, Wen Yu’s treatment of his soul pets had been unchanging, with the three soul pets being cooped up in the empty Soul Realm space, possibly lonely and isolated. Even though Wen Yu would always let them out to enjoy the breeze, he kept them firmly close to him.

But Wen Yu overlooked one thing— in this world, there are fewer creatures that can threaten his three soul pets, let alone himself. In other words, he no longer has a hard demand for the three soul pets, and now they are capable of handling things on their own!

Wen Yu himself, in general cases, doesn’t need the strength of the three soul pets. Even if he does, he can instantly summon them back through the Soul Realm space.

Maybe it’s time to adopt a freer-range approach...

Perhaps letting them act independently might lead to faster growth and bring more surprises.

Thinking of this, Wen Yu nodded heavily, and solemnly repeated his promise: ”Do a good job on this, if you do it beautifully, the boss will 100% give you a holiday!”

...

It cannot be denied, that following Wen Yu, the three soul pets ate well, drank well, and their strength improved rapidly. Just like Cyclops, a seemingly ordinary mutant dog, precisely because it had been with Wen Yu the longest, showed the most noticeable enhancement!

Their physical stats over 20000, species innate talent has reached one-third of that of a divine beast!

At Level 5, this kind of power can completely be considered a bug-like existence!

Strength?

They don’t lack it!

Skills?

Also adjusted perfectly by Wen Yu!

Keeping such beasts by himself for guard duty feels a bit like a waste to Wen Yu.

As soon as the concept of free-ranging emerged in Wen Yu’s mind, it quickly gained traction, and Wen Yu, after thinking for a moment, felt that this approach suited him more.

Seeing the trio playing noisily, Wen Yu coughed twice heavily: ”Now, go.”

As soon as he finished speaking, a grey figure and a black figure shot off into the distance, leaving Star behind, bewildered, staring at his boss and then at the crow on the ground.

”Boss, um... what should I do?”

”Wait for it to wake up, and then follow it!”

Star was unlike Cyclops and Victor, taken by Wen Yu right after birth, and although its combat strength was formidable, it lacked the ability and experience to stand independently.

Thinking of this, Wen Yu bent down, picked up Star: ”Follow it, do whatever you want, and if you’re bullied, tell the boss, the boss will stand up for you!”

”Okay!”

Star nodded heavily.

Upon hearing Star’s response, Wen Yu placed Star beside the Death Harbinger Raven, instructed Star a few more times, and then turned towards the south.

...

The Death Harbinger Raven never felt sleeping could be such an indulgence.

I felt completely soaked in warmth like being immersed in warm water, the Soul feeling unprecedented relaxation.

No need to worry about the future path of the species, how to further strengthen oneself, nor how to lead the flock surviving in this hopeless land.

Carefree.

However, sweet dreams always come to an end.

As fatigue gradually dissipated, even the dark wounds on the body lessened, the Death Harbinger Raven finally awoke from the dream.

”Ah...”

Yawning deeply, the consciousness gradually returned to the body, and scenes from just before sleep quickly surfaced.

Smelling blood scent, leading the flock out to hunt, then...

Captured? Seems I’ve made a new friend? Unknowingly talked a lot and then had a comfortable nap on the scorching sand?

The Death Harbinger Raven shivered instantly.

So, am I a captive or a friend?

After Wen Yu left, the soul influence attached to the Death Harbinger Raven slowly faded, and upon awakening, it noticed the anomaly...

In front of a human who captured it, how could it relax guardlessly and have a good sleep?

This makes no sense!

The awakened Death Harbinger Raven heightened its vigilance to the extreme, the eyes snapped open and swiftly shut.

In a blink, the surrounding situation was imprinted into its eyes.

”New friend” was gone, and among the three mutant beasts with that human, only a boisterous black bizarre creature remained rolling around in the distance.

Regaining consciousness, the Death Harbinger Raven quickly calculated.

Fighting is definitely not an option, setting aside the human who captured it, merely the odd black mutant beast in the distance is not easy to deal with— the raven already sensed the divine beast aura on Star.

Although unaware of the precise physical stats, following that terrifying human, surely it wouldn’t be weak?

So, first escape from the clutches!

Determined to execute the plan, the Death Harbinger Raven, seizing the moment when Star had its back turned, nimbly rolled up from the ground, and its petite body transformed into a black light dashing toward the sky!

...

Regarding its speed, the Death Harbinger Raven has always been confident, the gusts brushed its feathers, at this moment, it felt the gaiety of freedom.

Though that human harbored no malice and even invited it for roast meat, humans are fickle!

At any moment, that human might turn ruthless, being captive beside anyone is less pleasant than being the boss back at Phoenix Mountain.

Once back at Phoenix Mountain, I’ll pack up and hit the road! With thousands of underlings, the world is vast, where couldn’t I go?

Calculating one plan after another, a voice suddenly pierced the ear unexpectedly.

”Where are you going?”

The Death Harbinger Raven couldn’t react for a moment and answered very candidly: ”Home? Where else could I go!”

”Home is eastward, right? Mind taking me with you? The boss told me to tag along!”

The Death Harbinger Raven’s body stiffened instantly, slowly turning its head to see the black mutant beast spiraling nearby, large bright eyes fixed on it.

”Hehe...”

The death raven’s mouth twitched twice, then wings flapped rapidly, boost its speed to the max.

However, even exerting full effort, the voice still enveloped its ears: ”Seeing you really miss home, but you’re flying too slow, want me to help you?”

The black shadow nearby executed an impressive spin, showcasing its superb flying skills and indisputable ease.

”Help me...”

Watching the lively Star, the raven’s heart was breaking.
