Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Wen Yu wanted to take control of a settlement and have them act as his eyes and ears.

Without these natives living in the area, the task would be much more complicated.

Looking at the flattened black man on the ground, Wen Yu mourned for him for three seconds, then glanced at the sun in the sky.

The time had reached noon.

The hunger that emerged punctually in his stomach reminded Wen Yu, and seeing Star, who had reverted to mini form, Wen Yu summoned Cyclops and Victor.

”Let’s eat first, and after the meal, we get to work!”

...

The greater kudu lying next to him was undoubtedly a fresh ingredient, having died not long ago, its meat tender.

Wen Yu took a battle saber from his space ring, dragged the greater kudu over, and immediately began preparing for an open-air barbecue.

Skinning, bleeding, deboning, removing tendons, slicing.

A series of actions were done so skillfully by Wen Yu, the inedible parts he carved off were casually tossed aside.

The smell of blood began to spread.

Keeping only the lamb’s most tender parts, Wen Yu carried the chunks of meat back to his three soul pets.

There, the stove was already set up, and the three soul pets were eagerly watching Wen Yu cook the meat, occasionally licking their lips.

The aroma of meat began to permeate…

...

Having an open-air barbecue party in the African wilderness is certainly a suicidal act; the smell of blood will attract a multitude of uninvited guests!

In the African wilderness, there’s never a shortage of predators roaming the wild!

However, that depends on who you are.

Rules, caution, and logic all become mere trivialities for the powerful!

To put it simply, if you have power, you can truly do as you please!

”Hiss...”

Scalding, delicious meat juices burst in his mouth, and Wen Yu blew on it with pleasure, gulping down the chunk of meat.

Nearby, the three little ones were fighting over a kudu leg; a single leg wasn’t enough for three soul pets, so, defeated in the internal struggle, Cyclops obediently ran over to the three Soot Skin Demon Fiend corpses, voraciously tearing at the demon fiend’s flesh—although not as tasty as the greater kudu, it could quell Cyclops’ hunger.

The barbecue was in full swing until Wen Yu’s ear twitched slightly.

Swallowing the piece of meat, Wen Yu looked into the distance, where a large number of fluctuating auras had appeared within his perception range.

Sensing this, Wen Yu’s mouth gradually curved into a smile.

”Hurry up and eat, get ready to welcome our guests.”

Wen Yu reminded the three soul pets.

...

”Children, act quickly, don’t keep our guests waiting!”

An eerie spiritual fluctuation, mixed with harsh ”caw caw” cries, conveyed this message fully to the minds of those around.

The strong sense of smell clearly detected the faint scent of blood ahead, further stimulating the instinct of their kin, and the surrounding kin unfolded their wings, black feathers raining down like drops scattered upon the earth, the entire flock carrying an aura of ominousness, like a pure black cloud, speeding towards the distance.

To most people, crows have always been a symbol of misfortune.

Mutated crows are undoubtedly more so—sharp fangs and claws, powerful builds, a cruel and bloodthirsty nature, even large flock sizes, make this group an entity no one wanted to provoke in the region.

Seeing this, the Death Harbinger Raven couldn’t help but nod slightly, satisfied with his brainless kin subordinates.

”Although a bit dumb, they sure are obedient.”

And obedient yet brainless creatures are best used as cannon fodder…

The aura of Peak Level 5 began to contract slowly, even suppressing the divine beast scent to the extreme, the Death Harbinger Raven—the only divine beast in the Crow Group, also the only king, whose huge body slowly shrank down to the size of a regular crow.

Miniature form is a trick that a Level 5 divine beast would naturally master.

The tiny body hid among the wings of its kin, making the Death Harbinger Raven completely untraceable.

”Perfect concealment!”

The Death Harbinger Raven silently praised itself.

...

”Caw... Caw...”

The harsh sound came closer and closer, and seeing a massive black cloud speeding towards him, Wen Yu slowly got up, wiping off the grease on his mouth.

The eerie crowing seemed to carry a special spiritual power, and when it entered the ears of others, it would trigger the deepest fears within their hearts.

Yet, it still depends on who you are; when the eerie crowing entered Wen Yu’s ears, it only made him feel inexplicably annoyed.

This trivial annoyance was promptly expelled by Wen Yu, watching the black cloud in the distance get closer and closer until countless black crows rushed overhead, swirling ceaselessly, Wen Yu slowly closed his eyes, his perception ability rapidly spread outwards.

Number: Tens of thousands, this quantity is truly staggering, and it’s unclear how such a massive flock was drawn by a faint scent of blood.

Perhaps everything around them was eaten by these creatures? Was food too scarce here? Wen Yu could only explain it this way.
