Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Far away on the African Continent, Europe, deep in a dense forest somewhere in Spain.

This is a secluded paradise, untouched by the demon plague, without the pressure of survival.

It seems as though any turmoil occurring in the world is irrelevant to this place.

The inhabitants living here are peaceful, harmonious, serene, and happy. Of course, we must overlook the fact that there are barely any inhabitants here—only one person and two beasts, plus a peculiar presence.

Until a voice broke the tranquility of this place.

”Sister Ling, Sister Ling, come see, is my drawing pretty?”

The melodious voice rang from afar, disturbing the owner and Guardian of this place. The entire forest moved without wind, and after a moment, a graceful fairy, unfathomably human-like, slowly emerged from above the dense canopy, and gently floated towards the place where the voice was coming from.

The dense canopy made way for her, sunlight cascaded down, shining on the woman named Ling, then leisurely passed through, dappling the ground below with patches of shade.

The woman, formed from pure energy, floated through the forest, then directed her eyes to the barren mountain above, where an enormous gorilla was climbing single-handedly.

At this moment, the gorilla was clasping the mountain peak with one hand, raising another hand high, its two gigantic feet clasping the mountain ridge, striving to grant the human standing on its hand a broader, higher view.

Needless to say, even with the divine beast’s capabilities, such movements were considered strenuous—this colossus, towering over tens of meters high, would have crushed the not-so-tall hill under its weight if not for augmented skills.

Observing the gorilla’s fretful expression, Ling smiled and shook her head, her body gradually elevating, slowly flying to the gorilla’s raised right hand, and walked beside the woman named Carmille.

”Sister Ling, does my drawing look alike?”

The melodious voice arose once again, Ling lowered her head, gazing at the scroll before Carmille.

On the scroll, a lifelike depiction of the forest came alive, with even the twigs and leaves visibly clear, undeniably the effect of Carmille’s skill—even the most accomplished artists could not replicate such lifelike, high-pixel photographic paintings.

After a moment of closely observing, Ling nodded: ”Exactly the same, not bad, you’ve improved greatly.”

Upon hearing Ling’s praise, Carmille stuck out her tongue, then naturally held Ling’s hand: ”You also have to fulfill your promise then.”

Carmille’s playful act rendered Ling helplessly nodding, and then, a pure white light shot from Ling’s hand towards the scroll. The scroll was engulfed in white light, and after a moment, as the white light dissipated, the scroll was still the original, but it now possessed a certain Mysterious Power.

Seeing this, Carmille seemed like she had completed some monumental feat, breathed a heavy sigh of relief, and while quickly closing the scroll, she grumbled: ”Finally acceptable, this is my Deadly Weapon! I won’t be afraid of encountering horrifying Demon Fiends ever again...”

Observing Carmille’s murmuring, Ling immediately burst into laughter.

…

The two women sat atop the gorilla’s head, heading towards the center of the forest, the place called ”home.”

As the saying goes, three women create a spectacle, two women are quite similar, in a post-apocalyptic world, there are plenty of topics among women.

Such as men, Carmille hasn’t encountered many, and Ling, since her birth, has never come into contact with ”men” as a species.

Therefore, after the brief mention of Wen Yu’s name, this tedious topic was skipped over by the two, now that Carmille has Ling, her need for Wen Yu is completely replaced by Ling, so there really isn’t much left to discuss...

An example would be what Ling is currently working on—in fact, Carmille has remained here and indeed discovered some intriguing matters, such as the terrifying life form known as Ling, currently undertaking a significant project.

She wants to excavate a passage leading to Earth’s nucleus—who knows what Ling intends to do, every time Carmille inquires, Ling would vaguely brush it off, yet the digging itself, Ling did not hide from Carmille, instead seeking Carmille’s assistance.

The gorilla’s digging speed is not considered slow…

But this is indeed an immense task, impossible to accomplish within three or five years.

Conversing about one topic naturally leads to more topics, as the two women chat, the conversation shifts to the scroll and Ling herself.

”By the way, Sister Ling, is your entity really...”

Not knowing what adjective to use, Carmille simply opened her arms, making a gesture indicating ”very large.”

”Is it really... this entire forest?”

Ling smiled and nodded.

”Wow... I never really thought, Earth would host such a life form.”

Seeing the exuberant curiosity shining in Carmille’s eyes, even the gorilla beneath emitted low growls, expressing interest in this question, Ling, after brief silence, slowly spoke.

”Actually, whether I truly count as a life form, I am not quite sure either... Hmm, supposedly I do.”

”Tell us, Sister Ling, tell us how you came to be.”

”Hoo, hoo.”

Faced with the curiosity of one person and one beast, Ling smiled and shook her head, her lips parted slightly, and words as gentle as a breeze slowly flowed from between them.
