Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Luo Luo’s poor brain cells were running on overload. It wasn’t until the Big Lion climbed up from the ground, standing there like a beaten eggplant, looking aggrieved and not daring to move, that Luo Luo suddenly understood.

”What’s this called? Playing a pig to eat a tiger? No, playing a cat to eat a lion? That doesn’t sound right either; because it’s already a cat...”

Luo Luo felt a bit chaotic, also a bit panicked and at a loss ---- along the way, Big Lion was not only his ”ride” but also his bodyguard and nanny, now that Big Lion was gone, what should he do?

Panic-stricken Luo Luo shook his six uneasy feet, his antennae on the forehead dancing swiftly. After a while, Luo Luo deliberately exposed his round head, pretending to be a fierce and aggressive.

He wanted to use his appearance to scare off the enemy and rescue the Big Lion ---- in fact, Luo Luo had played the trick of scaring the enemy before.

There’s no denying that Luo Luo’s new act, combined with his ugly looks, was really intimidating.

Luo Luo succeeded in attracting the attention of the black cat with his active body language.

The cat-like eyes, almost like two shining light bulbs, made Luo Luo dizzy...

Then, the black cat spoke.

”You, a little ant, what’s your reason for wagging with me!”

”Buzz,” Luo Luo only felt the world spinning and then fell headfirst into the Big Lion’s soft mane.

”Follow me quickly. If you can’t keep up, there’ll be no dinner for you today.”

The black cat said without looking back, then strutted and quickly ran away.

”What should we do? We’re finished...”

The Big Lion was somewhat dejected, but Luo Luo comforted him: ”Let’s follow for now; I think that cat is pretty nice.”

...

Behind the black cat’s lead this time, Big Lion and Luo Luo didn’t need to sneak around, they could swagger freely following the black cat.

”Lord Victor!”

”Lord Victor!”

Along the way, all the mutant beasts that met the black cat stopped, lowered their heads slightly to greet the black cat. Seeing this, the Big Lion’s head drooped even lower.

Even though he didn’t know what ”Lord Victor” was, one could tell from the respectful and even fearful looks of the passing mutant beasts that the leading little black cat had possibly a terrifyingly great identity...

However, Luo Luo didn’t feel any fear; he just quietly peeked out from the mane, staring unblinking at the ”majestic and fierce” black cat ahead.

”Really majestic... If I could be like him, maybe I wouldn’t go hungry anymore...”

As his antennae swayed in the wind, an indescribable emotion filled Luo Luo’s heart; his eyes shone brighter: ”Definitely won’t be hungry anymore! Perhaps I can even feed Big Lion to fullness.”

...

In the distance, the towering city walls and various defense facilities appeared clearer and clearer, possibly the journey was indeed a little boring, the black cat slowed down its pace, walked side by side with the Big Lion.

”Ahead is our New Hope Assembly Place, this assembly site was formed by merging around three mutant beast forces centered on the former Human Race’s New Hope Assembly Site, um, led by Lord Sequence Number 2, also meaning the current assembly site is under Lord Sequence Number 2’s protection!”

”So here, you don’t need to worry about your safety for now, remember, this is just temporary!”

Communication between mutant beasts is more direct, without any roundabout; Victor openly revealed the truth.

”When the Demon Army arrives, they will definitely aim at our New Hope Assembly Place first, so this assembly site is not just Lord Sequence Number 2’s responsibility, but our collective responsibility!”

”After the establishment of the New Hope Assembly Place, originally the Death Harbinger Raven tribe from the Phoenix Mountain vigorously spread the news, attracting nearby mutant beast groups, with the message spreading wider until every corner of the African Continent knew of this news, every moment sees numerous mutant beasts coming to join us, meaning the New Hope Assembly Place is destined to become the last fortress for life forms left on the African Continent!”

Thinking this, Victor secretly cursed his boss—this damned thing, isn’t it just fooling people...

In fact, Wen Yu thought to make use of waste, attracting numerous mutant beasts on the African Continent to guard Victor’s unborn siblings!

Not exactly cruel, neither heartless — Wen Yu was just squeezing out the last bit of potential and utility from these destined-to-die mutant beasts...

Thinking of this, Victor recited his last line: ”Now that you’ve come here, you’re our brothers now. Welcome home!”

Big Lion and Luo Luo looked at each other, then Big Lion asked hesitantly: ”Well, um... can I have something to eat...”

”Smack.”

The soft cat paw smacked Big Lion dizzy: ”Only thinking about food. First, work for me! See that pickup ahead? Pull it to the assembly site.”

”Oh...”

Big Lion yapped in grievance, then Victor’s gaze turned to Luo Luo.

”Insect Tribe? Can you dig holes?”

”I... I can.”

”Then come with me, I’ll take you to meet the Insect Tribe’s commander.”

...

Luo Luo’s short legs supported his large body, moving clumsily.

Victor had no desire to help Luo Luo—those sticky fluids on Luo Luo’s big belly were really disgusting.

Thus, they walked at a normal pace, arriving in front of a cave entrance.

”Soot Skin, come out.”

Standing at the entrance, Victor shouted twice; after a while, rumbling noises came from deep within the cave.

The sound grew louder and clearer until a giant scorpion, almost the size of an armored car, burst into Luo Luo’s view.

”Soot Skin greets the master.”

With huge pincers gesticulating, the giant scorpion said respectfully, its ferocious appearance and fierce aura scared Luo Luo trembling in fear.

”Such... such a terrifying monster...”

Thinking this, Luo Luo involuntarily backed away two steps, quietly hiding behind Victor.

Then, Victor grabbed Luo Luo with a reverse hand, flinging him directly under Soot Skin’s feet.

”Arrange the newly arrived Insect Tribe’s mutant life form.”

”Understood, my lord.”

Soot Skin shook its scorpion tail and agreed, afterward, Luo Luo only saw the black cat disappear instantly, turning back to see the gigantic scorpion.

Perhaps sensing Luo Luo’s fear, Soot Skin snorted disdainfully: ”Follow me, first meet your kin.”

After speaking, Soot Skin twisted its body first, crawling deeper into the cave.

Seeing this, Luo Luo involuntarily swallowed, looking down the dark and deep cave ahead.

”It’s so scary here...”
