Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

The next two days were quite uneventful. In between, Qin Tian brought along Arthur, Wang Fucai, and Yang Hong, and they paid a visit with drinks and food. Having not seen each other for a long time, they enjoyed a lively gathering.

In the meantime, Wang Fucai and Yang Hong also brought up the request to have Wen Yu step in and pull the two out of the Ultimate Force Team, but Wen Yu brushed it off.

After the meeting with Tang Haofei, this matter indeed became much simpler, but unfortunately, not yet.

During this period, others came to visit, drawn by Wen Yu’s reputation—since Tang Haofei was absent, Wen Yu was the most powerful, held the highest status, and possessed the greatest fame in the whole cave.

In no time, Wen Yu’s residence became bustling, with a constant stream of visitors.

By engaging with these people in casual chats, Wen Yu managed to familiarize himself with their faces and also passed the time.

And so, the first collective meeting of the Ultimate Force Team arrived as scheduled.

...

Early in the morning, Wen Yu had just finished freshening up and opened the door, only to see the large square outside, with Tang Haofei’s statue, already set up by Qin Min’s dispatched personnel.

Banners, tables, chairs, podiums, plus microphones, speakers, and such, filled the vast square to its capacity. It appeared that Qin Min must have started the preparations last night.

Wen Yu’s residence was on the left side of the square, fortunately with excellent soundproofing; otherwise, Wen Yu might have had to face the ceremony with panda eyes.

Seeing Wen Yu’s figure, Qin Min put down his work and came directly to Wen Yu’s side.

”Are you ready?”

Wen Yu nodded.

”Here’s your speech script, just memorize it.”

Qin Min was well-prepared, even having Wen Yu’s speech script ready.

Wen Yu glanced over the content briefly—it largely matched with what Tang Haofei had yesterday entrusted as the ”third favor”—so he put away the speech script.

”What time is the meeting?”

”Two o’clock in the afternoon.”

”Alright.”

After confirming the time, Wen Yu returned to his room to seriously prepare for his upcoming speech—just memorizing the draft...

...

As the meeting approached, an odd tension permeated throughout the cave—for most people, they had no idea what the so-called Ultimate Force Team was supposed to do.

Yet the invitation from Sequence Number 1 was hard to refuse, enhancing the already tense atmosphere.

In such a mood, no one was in the frame of mind to discuss life with Wen Yu; Wen Yu was happy with the peace, staying in his room all morning and stepping out punctually after lunch.

As soon as he opened the door, the noise surrounded his ears!

Within the square, heads gathered, and whispers flowed incessantly.

Wen Yu scanned the scene; there were fewer than a hundred attendees, yet each exuded a strong aura, many familiar faces entered his view—Walter, Qin Tian, Kasu, Vincent, and the powerful experts Wen Yu remembered from the Sequence Member-Ranking Battle.

Among these less than a hundred people, half were from the sequence! The rest, their presence was equally imposing!

In other words, every person gathered here was a sovereign leader in their own right, capable of overwhelming a country!

”Ultimate Force...”

Wen Yu seriously savored these words, smiled lightly after a while.

Ultimate Force!

Name truly matching the reality!

However, the so-called Ultimate Force Team itself was a deformed entity! It was just like Wen Yu impulsively forming the Independents Mutual Aid Federation back then.

Even the initiator was barely managing to protect himself; this Ultimate Force Team had not even officially established but was already defunct in name!

Nonetheless...

At this time, the establishment of this Ultimate Force Team could at least be noted in history.

”Tang Haofei’s second persona indeed did one right thing.”

Wen Yu thought this, recalling the content of the speech script, Wen Yu seemed to see the entire process of this Ultimate Force Team from beginning to end—the brilliance and splendor of a fireworks display, dazzling but fleeting...

...

Those seated in the back row saw Wen Yu’s figure.

The name and appearance of Sequence Number 2, though not known by everyone, were certainly familiar to those present—you had to know whose turf you were in this circle!

The first to notice Wen Yu immediately nudged their friend who was about to speak, promptly sitting up straight, projecting the demeanor of a model student.

Silence,

began to spread like a virus.

As Wen Yu stepped forward, heading toward the podium, every powerful figure who spotted Wen Yu’s figure stopped their conversations, looking at Wen Yu with reverence.

For a moment, on the vast square, a pin drop could be heard!

Unconsciously, Wen Yu had become the true pinnacle figure in this world—one glance, one action, even uttering a single word could evoke speculation and associations from others.

Just Wen Yu’s name and appearance alone could inspire fear in others.

The silent venue felt slightly suffocating.

It wasn’t until Wen Yu ascended the podium and sat on the only chair there that Wen Yu seemed to hear the synchronized sounds of exhaling below.

Seeing the pairs of eyes daring not to meet his gaze below, Wen Yu remained expressionless, yet deep down, he chuckled bitterly.

This wasn’t what Wen Yu wanted, nor did Wen Yu have the ambition to sit atop the peak and look down on conquest, yet, just as he told Qin Tian the last two days.

This apocalypse,

is like a gigantic whirlpool,

pulling everyone in deeply,

certain things,

can’t be done just because you want to, nor avoided just because you don’t want to,

it’s the world forcing you to do it.

Qin Tian chooses to escape, yet he can’t outrun it!

Wen Yu doesn’t want to be the conspicuous one, but after understanding today’s meeting’s contents, Wen Yu knows that he can’t avoid it either!

In the apocalypse, who can truly find peace?

...

With Wen Yu taking the seat, the meeting immediately took on the proper form—quiet and orderly, akin to a state-level meeting.

However, truth be told, the quality of this meeting surpasses even state-level meetings...

Everyone present was a figure of excellence, some even leaders of small nations, yet the focus of this meeting was not on status, but on strength.

A national leader might not be as significant as an S-class skill in the eyes of these individuals.

Seeing the defiant mavericks below, obediently turning into meek lambs, Qin Min, standing beside, secretly gave Wen Yu a thumbs-up.

This was Tang Haofei’s intention for having Wen Yu here; aside from Tang Haofei and Wen Yu, could the people below submit to Qin Min?

Without a supreme expert presiding, Qin Min might not even finish the opening remarks before being overwhelmed by this bunch below.
