Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 812: Chapter 182: Asking for Directions

Wen Yu did not know where he was when he set off, but things like compasses and world maps were always available.

So, the general direction shouldn’t be wrong.

Star flew along the snow-covered ground, as the snow melted and the temperature rose, the perception of the demonic qi in the air also increased. When the demonic qi reached a certain level, Wen Yu finally gave the next command.

”Lower the altitude.”

A large shadow descended from the sky.

...

India’s winter was unlike the winter in the northeast of Cathay that Wen Yu was familiar with. India had high temperatures all year round, and even in winter, the lowest temperature did not drop below 10 degrees.

The sudden increase in heat even made Wen Yu feel as if the demonic qi in the air became denser.

Of course, Wen Yu knew that the density of demonic qi had nothing to do with temperature. It depended on the quality and quantity of demon fiends!

”A foul smell.”

Cyclops twitched his nose twice and gave a straightforward evaluation.

”It’s normal, with more demon bastards, the air naturally smells worse.”

Wen Yu casually agreed with Cyclops and then expanded his perception ability, carefully capturing every fluctuation around.

According to Wen Yu’s understanding, the entire territory of India had now become a huge battlefield. The intensity of combat was highest at several key points in India, but these few points alone could not accommodate nearly 80% of the demon fiends of the Asian Continent... as well as professionists from all over the world who disregarded their lives for power or fought for a better future.

In Tang Haofei’s words, the whole of India had turned into a chaotic mess.

However...

This had nothing to do with Wen Yu. He would settle his debts first, and after completing the task, if Wen Yu felt good, he might stay here to help Asan fight, enhance his strength, or continue to roam the world—both were good choices.

This is why Wen Yu chose to be an Independent.

Freedom.

Unrestrained.

Even doing whatever he pleases!

Of course, the most pressing matter was to find that Indian child, and the scheduled meeting place... Wen Yu glanced at the paper in his hand.

”South New Delhi XXX Street Noida Hotel.”

Casually pocketing the paper into his space ring, Wen Yu retracted Victor into the Fifth Soul while reinforcing with the Netherworld.

The force of the Netherworld spread frantically, and under the vast power of Wen Yu, it was as if a hemispherical bowl clamped onto the boundless earth.

Secretive and powerful.

Moreover, the range was vast!

Afterwards.

Everything was under control!

...

”Moo!”

”Roar roar!”

”Kill them all!”

”유♋☮✌☏☢☠✔ (Demon Realm Language)!”

Various beast roars and howls surrounded her ears, making Grace restless.

Casually tossing a plasma hand grenade, the dancing blue currents accompanied by the ”Rip rip” sound, formed a harmony intertwined with beast roars and howls, making Grace feel more comfortable.

Explosions were truly melodious—like a brute engaging in hand-to-hand combat and cursing—the kind Grace truly disdained.

Maybe this is the origin of the term ”Lady,” yes, Lady was her own code name. Coming out as a mercenary, or rather an army for hire, one needed a decent code name, right?

”Fuck! You bitch of a Lady, your grenade missed!”

Not far ahead, among the brutes, the cream of the crop, a heavy firepower holder of the same mercenary group—now turned into a double-sword Berserker—Rayen, cursing and ridiculing, while brandishing his two door-sized swords, instantly cleared the nearby demon fiends, and then Rayen finally had the leisure to pat his own backside.

His fair-skinned backside was turned sooty by the enhanced plasma bombs.

Grace pursed her lips, seemingly unwilling to fuss with Rayen, this brute, picked up two massive firearms from the ground, and then her vision locked.

”Bang!”

”Bang!”

Two loud blasts.

The two arm-length giant bullets seemed fast, but the trajectory wavered oddly, passing through the nearly ten-meter-tall giant ape ahead, through a formidably muscular and tall elephant, and finally past a fierce mutant bull with dark red flames burning on its twin horns, directly shooting to the rear of the demon group.

”Boom!!!”

A mushroom cloud rose, the add-on of Archer’s vision and the Eagle Eye Technique (C-Class, Passive Skill) allowed Grace to vaguely see the black blood splashing and diverse pieces of flesh flying in the explosion.

”Whew.”

With the muzzle raised, the enormous long gun forced Grace to stand on tiptoe, then she closed her eyes and gently blew at the muzzle before taking a deep breath!

The smell of gunpowder from the muzzle intoxicated Grace.

This was a Lady’s combat style...

However.

”Miss, though it may be a bit impertinent, I must remind you that our current flight lacks a cabin and safety measures, please be cautious.”

The abrupt unfamiliar voice and the oncoming gale interrupted Grace’s intoxication.

Opening her eyes, the scenery swiftly passed through her vision, and then Grace stiffly looked downward.

”Ahhhh...”

A soul-piercing scream cut across the sky.

Grace, the mercenary.

Afraid of heights...

...

The sharp soprano made Wen Yu frown.

Soul Power gently dissipated, calming the woman’s emotions without her noticing.

The effect was evident.

The woman’s transition from terrified to alert happened in less than three seconds. Then alertness turned to fear, and finally to calm.

Wen Yu observed the woman’s psychological fluctuations as clear as day, and after a while, she was the first to speak.

”Sir.”

Smart woman!

In times of peace, mercenaries live a life with today but no tomorrow, all the more after the apocalypse.

For the sake of magic crystals, they are willing to do anything, the dangers they encounter need not be mentioned, and having seen so many dangerous things, these mercenaries are bound to become slick, or, their abilities to manipulate situations will inevitably be a notch higher than ordinary people.

The logic is simple: since Wen Yu could silently and effortlessly bring Grace onto the back of the Star, he could also make her disappear just as silently.

The disparity in strength is obvious.

Moreover, the strong are revered!

...

Wen Yu pursed his lips.

Smart people are just no fun.

Alright, the point of it isn’t about fun, but rather that Wen Yu needs a guide.

Coincidentally, within the range of the Netherworld, there’s a battle not too small in scale — a coalition of humans and mutant beasts, Wen Yu even saw a moving mutant tree, with the other side being undoubtedly the Demon Fiends.

By chance, Wen Yu discovered this ”lady”—though the smell of gunpowder was strong, her clothes were still tidy, and there were at least no splatters of blood.

Wen Yu didn’t want these guys to dirty the back of the Star.

For which his hair might have to pay the price!

He drew a piece of paper with an address from the space ring and placed it in Grace’s hand.

The tone carried no teasing or joking anymore, just calmness, even somewhat indifferent as he said, ”Do you know the address on it?”

Even though she didn’t know who the powerful stranger before her was, that didn’t hinder Grace’s compliance.

Glancing at the note, Grace confidently replied, ”I know, sir.”

New Delhi, Grace was very familiar with.

”Take me there.”

The commanding tone was issued, yet it made Grace hesitant: ”Sir, my companions...”

”This is simple!”

Endless darkness surged from Wen Yu’s hand, instantly forming a football-sized energy mass.

Wen Yu lifted the energy mass and then gently tossed it.

In an instant, Grace merely felt the energy mass trace a graceful arc in the air, heading directly toward a location more than a hundred kilometers away.

Then.

”Poof!”

A muffled sound.

A massive dark force field descended, like an overturned large bowl, instantly enveloping the entire battlefield!

The previously clamorous battlefield fell silent.

...

Grace swallowed hard.

Gazing at the barely visible darkness a hundred kilometers away, then at the expressionless Wen Yu.

Perhaps sensing what Grace was thinking, Wen Yu glanced into the distance.

A vast Perception Ability clearly sensed the changes within the distant darkness.

Endless darkness energy aggregates, growing only a large mouth, formed within the Pitch-dark Barrier, then lunged like the fiercest beast, frenziedly at every Demon Fiend within the barrier!

Tearing!

Dismembering!

Devouring!

Digesting!

Under Wen Yu’s perception and subtle manipulation, each darkness aggregate behaved like an independent entity, weaving through the darkness, arbitrarily hunting every target — every target with blocked Perception Ability, senses muted, and stacked with negative statuses!

The massacre did not last long; when the dark force field gradually retracted until it vanished, the distant noise resumed.

”Beep beep beep...”

Communications rang, and then Grace answered.

”Grace, where are you? Rayen saw you inexplicably vanish just now...”

”I’m safe.”

”That’s good, also, mission accomplished, seems some powerful expert passed by and lent us a hand.”

”I know, Captain, right now, I’m standing beside him...”
