Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

With the appointment of Legas as the Commander of the Battle Zone Africa settled, the remote warfare meeting was declared over.

Legas hung up the communication, his long, ebony fingers gently rubbing his temples. The loss on the Indian battlefield was indeed a minor issue for Legas. However, counting the Battle Zone Cathay, this was already the second zone Legas had lost, and similarly, the entire Demon Tribe had only lost these two zones so far.

There’s a saying that things don’t happen in threes. After consecutive losses in the Battle Zone Cathay and the Battle Zone India, Legas indeed felt a nameless anger in his heart at this moment.

Losses were trivial----for a Level 11 demon fiend, Level 5 battle conditions were indeed insignificant matters.

However, face was significant, and Legas could not bear others’ sarcastic tones and questioning gazes.

So...

This time he’s going to get serious...

Thinking of this, Legas tapped a few times on the desktop.

”Sir.”

A voice emerged from the table.

”Call over the captain of the Level 5 division of the Ancient Demon’s Glory Battle Troops.”

”Yes, sir!”

...

Wen Yu naturally knew nothing of the movements of the Demon Tribe’s high-level at this moment; he, along with his three soul pets, was wreaking havoc in the Demon Clan’s main base in India.

The extremely strong concealment effect in his soul body state allowed a clear view of all the intelligence in the entire Demon Race Base----the base indeed had a lot of strategic tools, but none that could threaten his existence.

Similarly, this base had 7 heads of Limit Breakthrough Level demon beasts, with physical qualities ranging from about 3000 to 8000. Not to mention Wen Yu, even these seven combined, might not be able to take on Cyclops!

So, the outcome was already destined; the only trouble was the lack of manpower...

Even though Wen Yu had already summoned Faceless, merging it with Tang Haofei’s blood, Wen Yu could only field five combatants, including himself, with four soul pets ---- with this little manpower, it was easy to defeat these demons, but how to seal off the battlefield was a problem.

The demon fiends weren’t sitting ducks. After Wen Yu cleared the seven Limit Breakthrough Level demon creatures, the entire base’s demons immediately collapsed. Countless demonic beasts fled in all directions like the tide. Even if Wen Yu was stronger, he couldn’t help but let a large number of demonic beasts escape.

It was conceivable that the intensity of the demon plague in India would rise even further in the short term, but these had nothing to do with Wen Yu.

At this moment, Wen Yu was immersed in the feast of spoils ---- demon beast corpses, magic crystals, and the Demon Tribe’s strategic tools and reserves.

Slaughtering didn’t take much time; the difficulty lay in sorting the gains.

Wen Yu somewhat missed the Sequence Two Logistics Special Ops Unit of the Indian Government...

Qin Min sat on a bluish-black boulder. In front of him were tasty side dishes, a sufficient amount of beer, and even a large pot set up.

Beneath the pot was a simple coal stove, and orange flames surged up, boiling the chunks of meat until they flipped over, emitting a rich aroma of meat.

After a while, Qin Min added a piece of coal to the pot and scooped out a chunk of meat that was thoroughly cooked, tossing it far away...

He looked up at the sky, where the blood moon hung high, emitting a dim light that stained the earth red. Qin Min slowly moved his numb legs. Twelve hours had passed, from noon to midnight. Qin Min had been waiting here for twelve hours!

However, the person he was waiting for had not yet arrived.

At noon, Qin Min had dialed Wen Yu, who had only said one word: wait.

Qin Min agreed, leading to a long wait----like a woman waiting endlessly by the stone.

Qin Min had no idea how much longer he needed to wait, but both the person he wanted to meet and the person who had him wait here were people he could not offend. So, even though he had already waited twelve hours, even if it took three more days, Qin Min must wait.

Luckily, Wen Yu didn’t deliberately keep Qin Min hanging. As the sky began to brighten, a black light flashed in the distance, and soon, Wen Yu appeared before Qin Min.

”Got impatient waiting?”

Wen Yu asked with a cheerful smile.

”Aren’t you talking crap?” Of course, this was only Qin Min’s inner complaint. In front of Wen Yu, he naturally didn’t dare to say that.

So, Qin Min wore a flawless smile, cheerfully saying to Wen Yu, ”No rush, no rush, I just got here myself.”

Wen Yu glanced at the pot, which had already gone cold, and then at the pile of cooked meat in the distance, not exposing Qin Min’s insincere words.

Seeing this, Qin Min took out a lighter and reignited the coal stove beneath the pot, and soon, the aroma filled the air.

”Snap.”

Qin Min directly popped open the beer bottle cap, handing the large green bottle to Wen Yu. Wen Yu accepted it without fuss, gulping down half a bottle, then picked up some duck delicacies from the ground and chewed with his mouth full, saying unclearly, ”Yesterday was busy all day, took a bit more time, hope that’s okay?”

”No problem.”

Qin Min offered a cigarette, lighting it for Wen Yu.

Wen Yu took a heavy drag: ”What does Tang Haofei want from me?”

Qin Min hadn’t had much contact with Wen Yu before. Based on past intelligence, Wen Yu wasn’t easy to approach, but after a couple of simple exchanges over drinks and food, Qin Min found that Wen Yu was just like that ---- he doesn’t deliberately put on airs, much like Tang Haofei, well, like Tang Haofei used to be.

This realization relaxed Qin Min quite a bit.

”The boss wants to set up an organization and wants you to be the deputy leader of this organization.”

Plain and simple.

Who knew Wen Yu would wave his hand on the spot, as if facing some flood beast.

”That’s not going to happen. It’s fine to let me hold a title, but truly making me a leader, I know my capabilities, and I’m not cut out for it.”

Qin Min immediately thought of the Independents Mutual Aid Federation ---- indeed, Wen Yu was not cut out to be a leader, and it looked like he had developed a phobia of these things.

For someone like Wen Yu, an organization is really just a shackle!

Fortunately, Tang Haofei had anticipated this situation.

Qin Min took out an invitation from the space ring and placed it at Wen Yu’s feet.

Wen Yu took the invitation. The words ”Ultimate Force Team” gleamed brightly, exceedingly prominent.

Qin Min spoke again: ”The boss told me that you don’t need to take any responsibility. You are just a figurehead. This deputy leader is only for deceiving others. You might not know, but your influence among the Independents is actually quite substantial.”

Wen Yu nodded. He didn’t have unfounded self-confidence but neither did he underestimate himself----he indeed was a banner among the Independents!

”Just a figurehead? Nothing else needs doing?”

This favor was simple enough.

Qin Min hesitated and said: ”Well, not quite nothing. For the first joint meeting of the Ultimate Force Team, the boss has other engagements and won’t attend. So the boss hopes you could help oversee the situation. Just sit there and do nothing else. I will handle the rest.”

Wen Yu was silent. Tang Haofei would not attend, and Qin Min’s power was insufficient...

It seemed that having him oversee the meeting was indeed the best choice, especially since he wouldn’t need to actively participate. The previous discussions were clear ---- Wen Yu would not be responsible for anything.

Wen Yu nodded straightforwardly: ”Okay, I agree. Let’s be clear, after this matter, I don’t want any more involvement with this Ultimate Force Team.”

”I can’t make that call.”

Qin Min laughed: ”After the meeting, you can discuss it with the boss.”

Qin Min avoided giving a clear answer, but for these small matters, Wen Yu thought Tang Haofei should have a mutual understanding with him. Moreover, Wen Yu had the confidence that his current power was enough to prevent himself from being threatened by anyone----including Tang Haofei.

So, Wen Yu opened another beer: ”Alright, let’s do it this way for now. When does the meeting begin?”

”In ten days.”
