Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 809: Chapter 179: I Want to Ask You for a Favor

The first thing Wen Yu eliminated was the ability of Soul Harvest.

Because this ability somewhat conflicts with the effects of Pitch-dark Divine Light.

Looking solely at the skill effects, the pure lethality of Soul Harvest is much stronger than Pitch-dark Divine Light. However, one thing must be mentioned, which is Wen Yu’s current physique.

During his time in the Heavenly Palace, Wen Yu’s physique was relatively weak, but that’s relative. Considering Earth’s current level, Wen Yu using dark power to simulate a wave of darkness should have effects similar to Soul Harvest—after all, both can instantly eliminate an area, and for Wen Yu, the method doesn’t matter.

The next thing Wen Yu eliminated was the ability of Soul Abiogenetic Creation Skill.

The reason is simple, Wen Yu isn’t sure how much this ability can enhance him—it could be extremely powerful, powerful enough to truly ”create gods”! Or it could be completely negligible, turning into a ”lifestyle skill” that can only modify items and tools!

There are too many unknown factors here.

As for Photosynthetic Spirit Motifs and World Heart Shards, Wen Yu pondered for a long time and chose World Heart Shards.

These two have something in common—they’re both abilities that require ”accumulation”. Photosynthetic Spirit Motifs require exposure to the sun to accumulate stellar energy, while World Heart Shards, or Revenge of the World, require killing demon fiends. Both require accumulation; naturally, the earlier learned, the stronger later on.

The reason for choosing to fuse with World Heart Shards was not only to accumulate the World Revenge Mark, but also with the intention of quickly strengthening his divine beast’s species innate talent.

Currently, Wen Yu believes that he won’t encounter too much danger, and with the defense capabilities of the Heaven-covering Robe, at Earth’s current level, it’s sufficient to ensure his life safety. Therefore, compared to an ability like Photosynthetic Spirit Motifs, which is survival-oriented, World Heart Shards is indeed a better choice.

...

Taking out the World Heart Shards from the space ring, though it looks like a lump of earth, Wen Yu can perceive the immense power contained within.

Spiritual fluctuations slowly transmitted into the World Heart Shards, and afterwards, Wen Yu sensed a mysterious turmoil within his body.

Initially, the feeling wasn’t intense, but as the spiritual fluctuations became more closely connected with the World Heart Shards, the feeling of turmoil in the body grew stronger, until eventually, Wen Yu felt as if his body was nearing ignition, his body temperature rising bizarrely, skin turning crimson, yet feeling no discomfort.

As the second floor of the attic was dried out and temperatures rose, the World Heart Shards in front of him finally responded.

As if melted by the heat from Wen Yu’s body, the earth-colored crystal slowly liquefied, bit by bit disappearing, and Wen Yu felt a surge of heat flowing from his hand into his body.

As if in a second divine beast species modification, the divine beast species cells originally in his body hungrily rushed towards the heat flow entering his body, like a pack of ravenous wolves crazily consuming the heat flow, which then transformed into nourishment to modify themselves.

After a while, the World Heart Shards in his hand disappeared, and the sense of turmoil within his body slowly subsided. Only then did Wen Yu shake his arms.

His original divine beast’s species innate talent has been doubled by the World Heart Shards, now Wen Yu’s own 1 physique point is equivalent to 12 points for a normal professionist.

Then, Wen Yu looked at his skills.

Revenge of the World appeared in Wen Yu’s sight.

...

As Soul Battlefield activated, Wen Yu’s soul body slowly floated out of his flesh.

The four mysterious runes entwined on the soul body flickered incessantly, and the newly obtained Revenge of the World was transforming into a light sphere, floating beside the soul body.

Slowly grasping Revenge of the World, Wen Yu then pressed the light sphere onto his soul body. Wave after wave of Soul Strike flowed from his hand, directly ”thrusting” Revenge of the World into his soul body.

The fifth rune was created!

Thus, the whole absorption process was finally concluded.

...

Having gained not one, but four useful esoteric level skills, Wen Yu’s mood was naturally joyful, humming a little tune as he glanced around the environment within the Ancient God Palace. Then, with nothing else to do, he tidied up the books, space rings, and other items on the second floor of the attic a little, before turning to walk down to the first floor.

He touched the stone tablet and was then teleported out.

The noisy sounds of cat meowing and dog barking entered his ears.

”Woof woof woof, the boss is gone.”

”You idiot, shut up! Didn’t the boss tell us to wait here, meow.”

”Woof woof woof, that’s what he said, but a lively person suddenly vanished...”

”Cough cough.”

A couple of fierce coughs instantly silenced the quarrel between Cyclops and Victor. Afterwards, Wen Yu felt three pairs of eyes with different expressions looking towards his location.

Lightly touching his cheek, Wen Yu smiled and said, ”What’s wrong? Don’t recognize me?”

”Boss...”

A dim gray figure burrowed into Wen Yu’s arms, Cyclops sniffed fiercely with his dog nose, smelling Wen Yu all over, and after a while, hesitantly lifted his head.

”Fortunately, it’s my boss, it’s still the same smell, but your aura is gone...”

...

The aura concealment effect of the Heaven-covering Robe activated, except for traditional five senses like vision, hearing, and smell, Wen Yu wearing the Heaven-covering Robe cannot be detected by spiritual perception or soul perception. For professionists at Level 5, traditional five senses have been replaced by spiritual perception—more swift, efficient, and precise.

In this light, this aura concealment effect might be more significant than Wen Yu anticipated.

After calming his soul pet, Wen Yu looked again at the skills on Star, and after a while, he decided to forgo placing Observation Mountain on Star.

There’s no rush, wait until Level 6 to see what Star’s sixth skill awakens as, and then it’ll be time to arrange it.

Taking out the communicator from the space ring, Wen Yu thought for a moment and decided to dial Tang Haofei’s communicator.

”Beep beep beep...”

The busy signal kept ringing, and this time, Tang Haofei took a long time to answer the call.

”Wen Yu?”

”Yes, it’s me; I want to make a deal with the military.”

”What kind of deal?”

Old Tang’s voice was no longer ”lively” as before, sounding somewhat cold.

”I have a large batch of profession-change scrolls and skill scrolls, military-type ones, as well as a pile of technology from the Universe of Immortals and Heroes, plus an esoteric level skill scroll I can’t use, regarding the military. I want to exchange it for some good skills.”

The other end of the phone was silent for a while, until.

”Hehehe, not a small harvest, alright, I understand. I will talk to Lin Haifeng.”

”Okay.”

Wen Yu hung up the call.

However, before three seconds had passed, Tang Haofei called back again.

”Wen Yu, I’d like to ask you a favor.”
