Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 814: Chapter 184: Rendezvous

Noida Hotel, well, generally speaking, in a place like New Delhi, it’s just average—it’s not particularly famous, nor is it among the top-ranked hotels, but at least it’s luxurious and comfortable.

It’s just an ordinary luxury hotel.

Of course, under this ordinariness, the term ”Cathay-funded hotel” is even more unremarkable.

But that’s not the point. The point is, after the apocalypse, a hotel...

Making money is strange!

So, when Wen Yu stepped into Noida Hotel, all he saw was the empty lobby and the receptionist with a look of hopelessness.

...

”Hello, sir, do you need any assistance?”

In the Indian aesthetic, the tall Indian-looking receptionist should be considered a beauty. She respectfully said to Wen Yu, with a grace that was indescribable, suggesting she might be doing something extra on the side.

”I’m looking for Wang Chenglin.”

Wang Chenglin, Cathay Special Agent, was the name given by the military along with the rendezvous address.

”Please wait a moment.”

The receptionist politely smiled at Wen Yu and picked up the communicator, dialing a number.

Meanwhile, Wen Yu wasn’t eavesdropping on the conversation, only aimlessly wandering around the lobby, admiring the hotel’s lobby decor.

Until hurried footsteps approached from behind.

...

”Sir.”

A gentle voice sounded behind him.

Wen Yu turned around and frowned.

”Wang Chenglin? Isn’t he supposed to be a man?”

It’s not surprising Wen Yu had doubts because when the military reported the rendezvous location and contact’s file to Wen Yu, Wang Chenglin’s photo was included.

And the young, well-dressed, striking-looking Chinese woman in front of him clearly couldn’t be Wang Chenglin.

”Sir, there’s been a complication.”

The woman said respectfully and gestured to Wen Yu.

It’s inconvenient to discuss downstairs, well, that’s probably what it means.

...

The hum of the elevator resonated inside.

Lin Na pressed the elevator button and turned around, her peripheral vision glanced at Wen Yu, it wasn’t obvious, nor abrupt.

Lin Na, a member of the Cathay special agent organization stationed in India, had an apparent identity as the general manager of Noida Hotel in New Delhi. Due to Wang Chenglin’s abrupt disappearance, she was specially assigned as the contact for Wen Yu.

Along with a detailed mission target and specific plan issued for this operation.

Thinking of the supporter dispatched by the Cathay military, Lin Na felt a moment of daze.

Sequence Number 2...

Wen Yu...

As a member of the special agent organization, Lin Na naturally understands the significance of this title—it signifies one of the strongest forces in the world.

Therefore, proper respect is essential.

And curiosity, too, is equally extensive.

Random thoughts filled her mind until, with a ”ding,” the elevator arrived at the top floor.

”Sir, please follow me.”

Lin Na said respectfully, and then stepped out of the elevator first.

...

The smooth-tasting coffee was placed in front of Wen Yu. Sitting on the comfortable sofa, Wen Yu calmly picked up the coffee and took a sip, before finally focusing on the main matter—not that Wen Yu wasn’t concerned about this mission, but with his current strength, as long as the military provided Rahal’s exact location, the rest for Wen Yu was merely a simple errand.

Underestimating the enemy is naturally impossible, but underestimating oneself isn’t a good habit either.

So, the seemingly complex and secretive task, for Wen Yu, was just a chore.

”Tell me, what exactly happened.”

The calm voice came out, responded with a stack of files.

Standing beside, like a boss’s secretary, Lin Na respectfully said, ”These are my identity papers, sir, you may take a look.”

”Hmm.”

Wen Yu responded, casually flipping through the documents in front of him.

Lin Na, recruited into the Cathay Special Agent Organization in 2015, age 26, height...

Simple information and the badge symbolizing Lin Na’s identity were roughly scanned by Wen Yu, confirming its authenticity before speaking.

”Lin Na, right? So, what exactly happened, and what about Wang Chenglin?”

”Major Wang Chenglin has been confirmed missing, so the higher-ups assigned me as the contact for this mission.”

To this, Wen Yu had no comment. Replacing a middle-aged man with a pretty girl, it seemed like a fortunate turn of events. As for Wang Chenglin’s whereabouts, Wen Yu wasn’t interested, and Lin Na wasn’t keen to elaborate—it was an internal military issue unrelated to this mission.

Clearly, the Cathay military also understood what kind of person Wen Yu was, and wouldn’t discuss matters unrelated to the mission with him.

But indeed, Wang Chenglin’s disappearance had slightly affected the mission.

”Sir, there have been a few complications, resulting in some issues with the mission.”

Lin Na said.

...

India is a very interesting country; judging by the national strength, India is definitely considered a major country—its considerable land size and large population provide substantial support for India’s economy.

And the enormous population base allowed India to become, after the apocalypse, the second largest human force!

Yet, unlike Cathay, India’s power hides extremely sharp contradictions behind.

The religious disputes between Hinduism and Islam, and India’s traditional caste system!

The recent internal chaos in India stemmed from these issues.

When an individual’s strength is greatly enhanced, allowing the physical body to withstand guns and artillery, all potential and existing problems surged forth!

”Sequence Number 83, Dirang, originally an unemployed low-class person in India, categorized in the third tier of the caste system, Vaishya, but after the apocalypse... You know, sir, the apocalypse was a redistributive event of power; some people got lucky and acquired super-strength occupations or skills, soaring to success. Dirang was one such person.”

After saying that, Lin Na cautiously glanced at Wen Yu—for it seems Wen Yu was also such a fortunate individual.

Fortunately, Wen Yu wouldn’t care about such trivial details.

”After acquiring power, ambition naturally followed. Dirang deliberately highlighted the caste system, uniting Vaishya and Shudra, forming a coalition of civilian refugee classes, attempting to overturn India’s regime.”

”The rebels were ultimately defeated, but they weren’t without gains.”

”They caused the Indian Government to lose something important.”

”That was a child, and the target of this mission, Rahal.”
