Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 399: Chapter 29 Awakening_3

Then, Anna saw Wen Yu raise his Mad Medley.

”Who the fuck are you calling ’dear’?!”

”BAM!”

A gunshot rang out.

...

Wen Yu was very calm now.

Even though he had just blown off the beautiful woman’s head with a single shot, there wasn’t the slightest ripple in his heart.

From the memories transmitted by the Night Daemon Smilodon, Wen Yu had understood the entirety of what had happened.

The American and Cathay militaries, Kuangliu, Annie, Anna, Claire—all these people were liars, every one of them trying to harm him!

By the time he arrived, the entirety of Las Vegas had been turned into a grand trap set just for him!

If it weren’t for the Night Daemon Smilodon, Wen Yu would have been taken out without even knowing it.

What especially made Wen Yu feel terrible was the Cathay military’s scheming—or more specifically, Kuangliu’s trap.

Wen Yu swung the Dual Guns in his hands, blowing up one after another of Anna’s Netherworld Warriors. He muttered to himself, I thought there could be more trust between people, fewer disputes. I thought our partnership was going well. I thought I could call you a friend.

Wen Yu sent a strong Spiritual Fluctuation from his Soul Realm space, directly aimed at Cyclops and Star in the outside world.

The Netherworld that belonged to Anna began to collapse following her death.

Widespread warping occurred within the Netherworld, followed by space fracturing into pieces. The scattering fog and broken shards from the collapsed Netherworld, as if guided by some unknown force, were continuously infused into the Night Daemon Smilodon in Wen Yu’s arms.

Then, with the Red Stone Hotel at the center, the Night Daemon Smilodon’s Netherworld visibly expanded.

But you all tricked me, schemed against me, and wanted to kill me. So, are you ready to face my wrath?

Next, a purple light sparkled on Wen Yu’s hand.

5th Soul Realm—contract activated.

Wen Yu stared intently at the Night Daemon Smilodon in his arms, waiting for it to respond.

The Night Daemon Smilodon just stared back into Wen Yu’s eyes and, after a long moment, let out a soft cry.

”Even though becoming your soul pet means losing some freedom... it seems it would be nice to go out and see the world. However, you have to promise me one thing.”

”No problem!”

”Hey, I haven’t said what it is yet.”

”No need to say it. If you become my soul pet, I’ll agree to any condition!”

The next second, the soul pet contract successfully connected. Wen Yu’s 5th Soul Realm had its master.

...

After taking the Night Daemon Smilodon into his Soul Realm space, Wen Yu imbued himself with the power of the Netherworld.

At this moment, Wen Yu became the Realm Lord of the Netherworld.

Sensing the coordinates of Cyclops and Star in the main world, Wen Yu let out a slow breath and tightened his grip on his Dual Guns.

Fragments of Anna’s Netherworld flooded into Wen Yu’s body until all of them were devoured. Wen Yu glanced at the Netherworld and, with a single thought, appeared directly in Annie’s room.

...

Not much had changed in Annie’s room.

Except for the appearance of two new figures, one large and one small.

The smaller one was Star. As Wen Yu beckoned, Star immediately occupied the most advantageous position—atop Wen Yu’s head.

”Boss, where’s the Night Daemon Smilodon?”

”He’s healing in the Soul Realm space; his injuries are serious. By the way, how did the task I gave you go?”

”Everything is in order!”

After speaking, Star spat out a beautifully crafted pendant—the ashes of Anna and the Night Daemon Smilodon, which also served as the latter’s medium to connect the Netherworld and the main world.

Wen Yu nodded lightly and casually hung the pendant around his neck, replacing the broken Forgotten. He then turned to face the other figure.

”Why are you here?”

”I came to see if I could be of any help. But it seems unnecessary now.”

Yang Hong spoke with a hint of bitterness, then silently observed Wen Yu’s calm face.

”Have your memories returned?”

Yang Hong nodded.

”What will you do next?”

Wen Yu smiled faintly at Yang Hong. ”Of course, I’m going to kill people... starting with ’my dear’!”

Having said this, Wen Yu walked straight towards Annie, who lay unconscious on the bed.

...

”She’s very weak, no threat to you, and she’s a pitiful person too... I knew her before the apocalypse, sigh...”

Wen Yu gently picked up Annie, then swiftly broke her neck.

”Finished speaking?”

Yang Hong opened his mouth, but for a long moment, no sound came out.

”They’re all pitiful, they’re all innocent, they’re all worthy of sympathy. All their mistakes can be forgiven.”

”But who’s there to pity me? I was played like a fool by these motherfuckers! My memories were wiped by these motherfuckers! These motherfuckers almost killed me! And why didn’t anyone say to them back then, ’Wen Yu is so pitiful, you shouldn’t be doing this...’?”

”Come on, we’re all adults here. If you do something wrong, you must pay the price! You must bear the consequences!”

”And my rage must find an outlet.”

”So, today, no one is innocent, no one is pitiful, and no one will be forgiven!”

With that, Wen Yu turned and walked towards the door.

”Wait! Do you remember I said that if that pendant was useful to you, you’d do one thing for me?”

Wen Yu’s footsteps suddenly halted, and he gave a slight nod.

”Don’t destroy this city.”

”I’ll try my best to leave some habitable buildings for you all!”

After saying this, Wen Yu leaped out of the window and landed in the middle of the courtyard.

The quiet, gentle night breeze brushed Wen Yu’s cheek, but he could feel the chaos carried on the wind.

He established a spiritual link with Cyclops: Bring Claire’s head back!

Immediately, Star’s body rapidly expanded, transforming directly into his battle form.

Wen Yu jumped onto Star’s head. Then, with a swift beat of Star’s wings, they flew straight towards the Red Stone Hotel.

Recalling the events in Cathay, the trials he and Lin had faced together in the Demon Town Tower, Wen Yu’s anger finally reached its peak.

”Lin! Kuang! Liu! Come forth and die!!!”
