Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 358: Chapter 147 Ultimate Power_1

Lin Haifeng glanced at the sky outside and couldn’t help but remark, ”It’s getting late, time for lunch. And I never thought you were this kind of guy... a ’frosty heartthrob.’”

Lin Haifeng uttered the words ”frosty heartthrob” in a teasing tone, which made the people on the other end of the communicator burst into laughter!

From the sound of it, there were at least five people.

”Stop laughing, stop! Your boss here is talking serious business. Don’t you want to eat?”

Unfortunately, his authority as ’boss’ clearly wasn’t enough. Not only did the laughter not stop, but it grew louder and was even joined by more people.

”This is such *%&#@!”

A string of curses erupted from the man on the other side, and the laughter instantly died.

”Alright, I got away from them. Now that it’s quiet, let’s talk business!”

...

Lin Haifeng quickly relayed the current situation. This included intelligence on the Demon Worship Sect, information about Peng Jun, the betrayal of Sequence Number 5, and the fact that Wen Yu and Kuangliu were trapped in the treasure land.

The ”frosty heartthrob” on the other end was silent for a moment, then spoke. ”I’ll handle the Demon Worship Sect matter. Yes, I’m setting off now. I expect to be back in Cathay in about eight hours.”

Hearing this, Lin Haifeng pondered for a moment and then said, ”Can your team members come back with you?”

The ”frosty heartthrob” went silent again for a long while, seemingly considering something, and then decisively responded, ”A small part of them can return. After all, several of my team members aren’t Cathay nationals. Our mission out here is complete, and it’s time to start resisting the demon plague. They can’t abandon their own countries.”

Lin Haifeng nodded. ”That’s understandable.”

”Here’s the plan: I’ll send some of my team members back first to provide you with a few powerful experts for support. Then, I’ll hurry back to Cathay to deal with Peng Jun. And yes, I’ll handle Peng Jun personally.”

”No problem.”

”By the way, how’s Vermilion Bird doing?”

”It’s currently en route to the Demon Capital Assembly Site.”

”Alright then. I’ll initiate the teleportation from my end immediately. The destination will be your office, so prepare to receive them.”

”Wait,” Lin Haifeng suddenly interjected, cutting him off. ”What about Sequence Number 2 and Sequence Number 3?”

The ”frosty heartthrob” on the other end was silent for a short while, then responded decisively, ”They should be fine. After all, a Level 5 Sequence-class expert would have already caught the Dominator’s attention. It’s unlikely such a high-level expert would be allowed to perish easily. However, there are some other issues related to what happened when the first demon plague descended. I’ll deal with those when I return.”

”Then I’m relieved.”

”Understood. Get ready.”

After these words, the communicator on the other side immediately disconnected.

Lin Haifeng chuckled and shook his head, finishing the last of his tea as he quietly watched the empty space before his desk.

Less than a minute later, a white light flashed in the empty space before him.

...

The blinding white light made Lin Haifeng turn his head slightly. The next second, four figures materialized before him.

Unfortunately, these four were not in good condition.

The four individuals who had just been teleported were now sprawled on the ground, retching repeatedly. Clearly, this method of teleportation was quite taxing on the human body.

Lin Haifeng quietly observed the four people before him.

A tall woman, dressed in a grey tank top and extremely short camo shorts. Her tanned skin radiated health.

As she was lying prone, her ample breasts were pressed against the floor, creating an extremely pronounced cleavage visible to Lin Haifeng.

Lin Haifeng silently averted his gaze and looked at the others.

One was a black man, so dark-skinned he seemed to shine, likely of African descent. He was nearly two meters tall, with strong arms even thicker than Lin Haifeng’s thighs! Waves of intense heat radiated from the man’s body, noticeably raising the office temperature.

The black man’s physique was excellent; he had already mostly recovered from the teleportation’s side effects. He grinned at Lin Haifeng, revealing a set of white teeth, then produced a handful of medicinal potions from his space ring. He downed a few himself before starting to administer them to his teammates.

Beside the black man stood an Asian man in ornate golden robes. Judging by his attire, he was likely a Cathay national, though his ’retro’ style of dress was puzzling.

The last was a little girl, as exquisitely doll-like as if carved from jade.

The girl, about ten years old, was still clutching a teddy bear larger than herself, even as she vomited repeatedly.

When the black man offered her a medicinal potion, the girl gave him a pained nod and drank it down.

...

”Phew... I survived...”

A moment later, the tanned woman sighed heavily and slowly got to her feet, completely unconcerned about her disheveled state. She even jumped a couple of times, her ample chest surging impressively.

Fortunately, Lin Haifeng wasn’t lecherous and was also past the age of such dalliances. He just nodded at the woman and said, ”Judging by your voice, you must be my contact.”

The woman nodded lightly and saluted Lin Haifeng, although it wasn’t a standard military salute. ”Ultimate Force Team member Zhang Ziping, Sequence Number 33, reporting to Commander Lin!”

”Also, Commander Lin, is the offer for that special agent team you mentioned earlier still valid?”

...

The Ultimate Force Team wasn’t a team that Lin Haifeng had formed; there was no subordinate relationship between them.

Strictly speaking, the leader of the Ultimate Force Team had contacted Lin Haifeng first, and then they had reached a cooperative agreement.

And the Ultimate Force Team’s introductory gift had been Vermilion Bird.

To offer a divine beast as an introductory gift—that level of power was certainly beyond what the military could cultivate.

All of this was the work of one man—Sequence Number 1!

At the same time, this was also one of Lin Haifeng’s biggest trump cards!

...

”This is Inky. Just call him that. He’s not much of a talker, and you probably wouldn’t understand him anyway. He’s Sequence Number 42.”

Inky was the black man.

Lin Haifeng surmised that Inky was here probably because he lacked a strong sense of belonging to any particular country, or perhaps had no country to call his own.

Many people in Africa hail from primitive tribes, and their combat prowess and adaptability are often formidable.

”I’m Qin Min, Sequence Number 8! No, wait, I should be Sequence Number 7 now. Vice-captain of the Ultimate Force Team! Seems the original Sequence Number 7 died a couple of days ago.”

”Yes, he died in the outpost treasure land.”

Lin Haifeng nodded in confirmation, then his gaze shifted to the last person—the young girl.

The little girl, still hugging a large plush bear bigger than herself, offered Lin Haifeng a small smile. ”My name is Yang Yu, and I’m 10 this year.”

With that, she hugged her big plush bear tightly and hid behind Inky.

Zhang Ziping offered Lin Haifeng an apologetic smile. ”This child endured a lot when the apocalypse began. She only trusts our captain and Inky, so sorry if this is a bit awkward, Commander Lin. By the way, Yang Yu is Sequence Number 39. Pretty good support we’ve brought, wouldn’t you say?”
