Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 389: Chapter 23 Love is Here (Extra Chapter for 100 Monthly Tickets)_1

The dance ended. The music slowly transitioned into a cheerful tune, and Wen Yu, holding Annie’s hand, once again retreated to a corner.

”I didn’t expect you to be such a good dancer,” Annie laughed and said to Wen Yu.

Wen Yu wasn’t modest. ”It’s alright. After all, I have good learning ability and physical coordination.”

After that, there was a moment of silence between them.

After all, Wen Yu had no experience being alone with a woman, let alone one he was attracted to...

That’s right, he was fond of her. Even Wen Yu didn’t know why, from their very first meeting, he’d felt a sense of love at first sight for Annie.

Even Wen Yu himself hadn’t realized this!

They chatted idly for a while before Annie suddenly asked, ”By the way, have you been to the underground arena at the Red Stone Hotel?”

”I have. Why, are you into that sort of thing?”

Annie nodded subtly. At the same time, her eyes, which seemed to shine, gazed at Wen Yu, a clear desire visible within them.

After pondering for a moment, Wen Yu decisively pulled Annie up. ”Let’s go take a look.”

They found an empty room. Annie went inside to change her clothes—after all, going to the underground arena in a party dress would be a little too conspicuous.

Wen Yu stood outside the door, casually chatting with a few of his soul pets.

”Boss, this woman is so pretty! I think you want to mate,” Cyclops said, sticking out his tongue and looking at Wen Yu lasciviously, leaving Wen Yu exasperated.

Even Star remarked, ”Boss seems a bit off today. I remember you used to be indifferent towards women, right?”

Cyclops countered, ”That’s because he hadn’t encountered someone this pretty before...”

The Little Soul Beast added, ”I also feel that something’s odd with Boss today...”

Cyclops exclaimed, ”You guys know nothing! Mating is fundamental to species reproduction; it’s life’s most basic instinct. It’s not strange for Boss to behave this way! I tell you, his hormones must be surging. You don’t know, but recently, every morning when I see Boss, his face is flushed, and he’s... *excited* down there.”

”Shut up!”

Hearing Cyclops’s inappropriate remarks, Wen Yu decisively gave him a knock on the head, then narrowed his eyes slightly.

Star and the Little Soul Beast weren’t wrong. Today, as soon as he saw Annie, he had been unconsciously attracted to her. Even now, he was willingly guarding the door for her.

This would have been unimaginable in the past!

Thinking of this, Wen Yu frowned with worry.

Something doesn’t feel right... I feel like something’s wrong somewhere.

However, before Wen Yu could ponder it further, a sweet fragrance wafted over. Annie, now in casual clothes, emerged leisurely.

”Let’s go.”

Seeing the smile on Annie’s face, Wen Yu’s heart skipped a beat... What was I just thinking about...? I’ve forgotten...

But that didn’t matter. Now, a thought was growing stronger and stronger in Wen Yu’s mind.

Give me the beauty... forget the world...

With this thought, Wen Yu gently took Annie’s small hand and led her directly towards the underground arena.

The underground arena was still bustling.

Although Claus was hosting a banquet upstairs, in this godforsaken apocalypse, the banquet’s entertainment naturally had to undergo some slight changes.

And the arena below was the ”special feature” of today’s banquet.

It was just as the announcer was saying at that moment:

”Today, our great boss, Claus, has arranged a series of ultimate fights to welcome the powerful experts from Cathay—Sequence Number 2 and Sequence Number 3—and America’s own top expert, Sequence Number 5, Ms. Claire! Everyone in the audience today is definitely in for a treat!”

Wen Yu didn’t pay much attention to the rest. Instead, he led Annie directly into the private room Claus had arranged for him.

The private room was cleaned regularly and stocked with fresh fruit.

Annie sat quietly on the couch, casually peeling a lychee. Her large eyes roamed over Wen Yu, who was sprawled on the sofa. After a moment, she gave a sweet smile.

”Your soul pets are so cute. Can I hold them?”

Wen Yu hesitated, looking at Cyclops and Star, and sent a Spiritual Fluctuation to his soul pets.

”Want to go?”

”I’ll go! I’ll go! I’ll check her out for Boss first, see if those things on her chest are real!” Cyclops yelled with a lecherous expression, then quickly jumped out of Wen Yu’s arms and into Annie’s.

Star, on the other hand, was a bit hesitant. ”Boss, how do you feel?” she asked via Spiritual Fluctuation.

”How do I feel about what?” Wen Yu replied.

”It’s just... you seem very strange today, Boss,” Star responded.

Wen Yu frowned in thought for a moment, then asked decisively via Spiritual Fluctuation, ”Did you sense any skill fluctuations?”

Star shook her head.

”I didn’t sense anything either. In that case, there’s only one explanation...”

Hearing Wen Yu’s words, Star immediately became alert.

”What’s the explanation?”

”I’m in love. I really like this woman. Actually, it wasn’t until today that I realized I need a woman by my side.”

Star’s large eyes blinked. She asked hesitantly, ”Boss, are you sure you’ve fallen for this woman?”

Wen Yu nodded.

”But Boss, you’re really strange today. You’re not like your usual cool and detached self at all.”

This Spiritual Fluctuation left Wen Yu dumbfounded.

My old self... I was fine, wasn’t I? Not exactly cold...

After a moment of silence, Wen Yu answered affirmatively via Spiritual Fluctuation.

”I truly want to find a woman to be my spiritual anchor. I want a home... I want a child...”

”Even with you guys by my side, I still feel so tired... so very tired...”

As he conveyed this, Wen Yu leaned back on the sofa silently, his gaze fixed on Annie as she teased Cyclops. The light in his eyes grew deeper and more profound.

I like your scent, your smile, your face...

Even though I don’t know why you captivated me so quickly, my feelings don’t lie...

This must be what love feels like...

At this moment, Wen Yu felt a little intoxicated.

”Quick, look! The main event is starting!”

Wen Yu was gazing at Annie, lost in a daze, when Annie gently nudged him and pointed to the arena below where a fight was about to begin.

At that moment, the announcer on the stage was shouting with fervor:

”Let us welcome the strongest in the Red Stone Arena, Violent Mathews! He’s facing the undefeated legend of our Red Stone Arena, Karl!”

As the announcer’s voice faded, a figure, not particularly imposing, quickly emerged from one side of the stage.

Meanwhile, the announcer continued the introduction.
