Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 376: Chapter 10: Global Connectivity Plan (Please Subscribe)_1

”It’s me.”

The familiar voice from the communicator made Kuangliu let out a deep sigh of relief, allowing him to completely relax.

Although Jake had just explained that Peng Jun hadn’t caused any major trouble, that was, after all, someone else’s account. Kuangliu wasn’t foolish enough to believe everything he was told.

After hesitating for a moment and briefly organizing his thoughts, Kuangliu finally spoke.

”Wen Yu and I were trapped by a Treasure Land Protector for over a month inside a treasure land. We’ve only just gotten out. We’re currently in Las Vegas, America. Both of us are safe. We just don’t know whether we should return to Cathay now or act independently.”

Lin Haifeng acknowledged with an understanding ”En,” then said directly, ”There are some things I need to discuss with you two.”

...

”Are there any outsiders nearby?”

Over the communicator, Lin Haifeng’s tone was somewhat cautious.

Kuangliu glanced at Claus and Jake in front of him. Both were sensible enough; without a word, they turned and left the room.

”They’re gone now. But isn’t this communicator always under American forces’ surveillance?”

Kuangliu felt Lin Haifeng’s caution was somewhat superfluous.

”Yes. What I’m about to tell you is known to the American high command, but it’s not for general knowledge.

”Firstly, it’s about the Demon Realm’s Gate opening in less than a month.

”When the Demon Realm’s Gate opens, an operation called the Human Race Sequence Hunting Plan will also be initiated.

”Accompanying the Demon Realm’s Gate will be super-powerful experts from the Demon Tribe. They will target the top ten powerful experts of the Human Race Sequence and launch a hunt. The Hunting Group targeting you two will be incredibly strong; you must prepare yourselves.”

Hearing this news, both Kuangliu and Wen Yu frowned.

Swirling the wine in his glass, Wen Yu cautiously asked, ”How strong?”

”Their power will only be greater than yours, not lesser!”

”Understood.”

There was one thing Wen Yu didn’t say aloud. He understood Lin Haifeng’s words clearly: they were to stay in America for the time being, not return to Cathay, and eliminate the Hunting Group on American soil.

With his current power, if Wen Yu went all out, destroying Las Vegas within half an hour wouldn’t be a problem. Even if he had to fully unleash the Pitch-dark Demon Lord and painstakingly charge up a massive attack, destroying half of Las Vegas would merely be difficult, definitely not impossible! This just showed the potential scale of destruction in battles between super-powerful experts.

Unfortunately, Lin Haifeng’s next sentence made them realize that he was definitely not a short-sighted person.

...

”Do you think my purpose in telling you this was to have you temporarily stay in America and not return?”

Wen Yu and Kuangliu both remained silent.

After all, such a question wasn’t really suitable for discussion over a communicator monitored by the American forces.

”The issue with the Hunting Group isn’t the reason for you to stay in America. Our country has plenty of wilderness and mountainous regions; there’s no need to drag this fight into another nation.

”But it’s true that I need you to stay in America.

”You need to help them!”

Hearing Lin Haifeng say this, Kuangliu directly retorted, ”Help them? It’s not that I’m underestimating myself, but I doubt a superpower’s military organization would need help from one or a few individuals, not even from Sequence Number 2 and Sequence Number 3!”

It was clear Kuangliu deeply yearned to return home.

”No, let me explain it to you both slowly.

”First, over the past month, we’ve determined the number and locations where the Demon Realm’s Gates will open.

”The number and opening locations of the Demon Realm’s Gates follow a pattern. According to current intelligence, the quantity of Demon Realm’s Gates opening on land is determined by land area, not by population size or the number of professionists. You should be able to imagine the kind of impact this rule will have.”

Wen Yu and Kuangliu were quick thinkers. In a short time, they had already grasped the significant impact this method of Demon Realm’s Gate distribution would have on the situation in various countries.

Take the simplest example—Cathay and America.

Before the apocalypse, Cathay’s population was 1.4 billion, while America’s population was less than 400 million. However, the land areas of the two countries were quite similar.

Similar land areas mean the number of Demon Realm’s Gates appearing in both countries will be roughly the same. Consequently, the number of Demon Fiends emerging from these gates will also be comparable.

Under these circumstances, it’s a very simple question as to whether countries with larger or smaller populations hold the advantage.

Lin Haifeng gave Wen Yu and Kuangliu a moment to process this before continuing.

”In the near future, America will do its utmost to gather survivors from the North American Continent and even the South American Continent, striving to increase its number of professionists. However, this cannot be accomplished in a short period. Strictly speaking, it’s merely treating the symptoms, not the root cause! Therefore, when the first wave of the demon plague arrives, America’s defense capabilities will be several tiers lower than Cathay’s!

”But America cannot be allowed to be overrun! The Human Race needs America’s strength—be it its professionists or its scientific research capabilities!

”Therefore, after you’ve dealt with the Sequence-class Hunting Group, I need you two to do your utmost to help the American forces resist the demon plague!”

Hearing Lin Haifeng say this, Wen Yu asked with a smile, ”Are you so confident that Kuangliu and I can take down that damned Hunting Group?”

”No, from a purely factual standpoint, your chances of defeating the Hunting Group are only around thirty percent! However, from an emotional perspective, I believe you will one hundred percent be able to eliminate those Demon Bastards!”

Wen Yu and Kuangliu remained silent. Lin Haifeng spoke again.

”Regarding these matters, the military high commands of all countries have already made a decision: using each continent as a base, they will strive to establish massive settlements, one after another.

”When the top ten super-powerful experts of the Sequence advance to Level 6, the access rights on the Exchange Stone Pillar will further expand. At that point, an item called the Legion Level Space Transfer Device will become available. You need to cooperate with America to set up this device. Only once this device is established can we ensure that the major settlements on each continent can perform Space Transfers at any time to provide mutual support.

”This is the operational plan currently formulated by the Human Race’s high command—the Global Interconnection Plan!”

Being able to advance and attack, or retreat and defend—this is the fundamental purpose of this plan.

If any continent cannot hold its ground or finds itself in a dire situation, it can use Space Transfer to move its viable forces to another continent, preserving the overall strength of the Human Race and the spark of our species!

”So, next, the Human Race needs you two to help America through this crisis. The current situation is extremely perilous! This is not the time to bicker about countries or ethnicities. This is a cataclysm facing the entire Human Race! We all need to unite to overcome these hardships.”

”Understood.”

Wen Yu’s expression was somewhat serious, a rare instance of him voicing agreement.
