Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 354: Chapter 143: Subdue External Enemies by First Securing Internal Peace_1

The outpost treasure land incident ended abruptly, but its subsequent effects swept across the world like a storm.

First, the deaths of Sequence Number 7 and Sequence Number 9 would definitely impact the situation in Russia and Japan, though this wouldn’t greatly affect Cathay.

The key issue was the betrayal of Sequence Number 5, which infuriated Lin Haifeng and served as a wake-up call for him. The fact that even a powerful expert of Sequence Number 5’s rank could be swayed by the Demon Tribe—or rather, the Demon Worship Sect—was proof that the Demon Worship Sect had indeed become a malignant tumor the military had to excise. And this tumor could be fatal at any moment.

...

Lin Haifeng’s approach was simple: better to endure swift pain than long-term agony. When faced with a pus-filled sore on one’s body, the best method was to cut it out, roots and all, and then mercilessly crush it.

Lin Haifeng didn’t even have the desire to negotiate with Peng Jun. He directly mobilized large numbers of the professionist army, along with various types of heavy armaments, preparing to crush the Demon Capital Assembly Site.

According to Lin Haifeng’s current intel, Peng Jun was the leader of the Demon Worship Sect, and the credibility of this information was at least eighty percent. An eighty percent possibility was already enough for Lin Haifeng to make up his mind—a decision that might completely obliterate the Demon Capital Assembly Site.

...

”Our mission this time is to capture the leader of the Demon Capital Assembly Site, Peng Jun, and his super powerful expert subordinate, Sequence Number 5, Yang Pengguang.”

Kuangliu paused briefly, then said confidently and seriously, ”Dead or alive.”

”Get ready. We set off in three days.”

With a wave of Kuangliu’s hand, the personnel in the conference room quickly and orderly filed out. These were all military super warriors.

In the outpost treasure land, the military’s super warriors had lost five members. Among them, three were killed by the Ancient Demon spawn, all near the outpost’s control center. However, the outpost treasure land also cultivated a large number of high-level professionists for Cathay’s military.

Currently, Cathay’s military’s highest combat strength was Kuangliu, a Level 5 professionist, and Vermilion Bird, a Middle Stage Level 4 divine beast. The remaining Level 4 professionists were numerous.

With such power to strike the Demon Capital Assembly Site, anyone would assume Peng Jun was bound to lose, and quickly at that.

Of course, some people didn’t think so.

...

Inside the Demon Capital Assembly Site, Peng Jun was chatting with Yang Pengguang. Judging from their casual manner and relaxed postures, there was no hint of tension about the impending war.

”Is Sequence Number 2’s strength that strong?”

They had been discussing the events in the outpost treasure land, and Peng Jun interrupted Yang Pengguang when the topic of Wen Yu’s strength came up.

Yang Pengguang nodded without hesitation. ”Kuangliu has also advanced to Level 5, and his power is terrifying. I probably wouldn’t last a few seconds in a head-on confrontation.”

Although Yang Pengguang said this, there was no sign of fear or shock on his face, as if he already had a strategy to deal with Kuangliu and Wen Yu.

Peng Jun took a sip of tea and raised his arm into the air. A black shadow flashed past, and a miniature black hawk landed on his arm. A black crystal on its forehead flickered with light.

”By the way, have you come to an agreement with Protector Number 1?”

Hearing Peng Jun’s question, Yang Pengguang nodded affirmatively. ”Protector Number 1 said that before his preparations are complete, he wouldn’t dare to brazenly kill Sequences, but temporarily trapping them should be no problem.”

Upon hearing this news, Peng Jun looked even more relaxed. He got up from his seat, walked to the window, and watched the bustling crowd below.

”Lin Haifeng has started mobilizing his army. In a few days, the main force from Yanjing will reach the outskirts of Magic Capital. Look at the crowd below...”

Peng Jun pointed to the people below, who were carrying large and small packages and looked like refugees. He then pointed to the chaotic military below and said confidently, ”Yes, we lack troops. Even with the addition of the Forgotten Legion, our strength won’t be enough. However, what really decides the outcome of a war isn’t this trash!”

”I’m really looking forward to seeing Old Lin’s face before his death...”

...

Although Kuangliu had promised Wen Yu three days of rest, only a day passed before Kuangliu rushed to Wen Yu’s house, full of urgency. ”Hurry, hurry, hurry! It’s time for us to set off!”

At this time, Wen Yu, after a whole day of contemplation, had suppressed the information he received from the demon spawn deep in his mind. Simultaneously, he had also placed the black container in his space ring.

The Exchange Stone Pillar should still be used. However, using the black container to Absorb the magic crystals of the Human Race has crossed my bottom line as a human!

Wen Yu, who had fully recovered his composure, couldn’t help but smirk at Kuangliu’s eagerness. ”Didn’t you say three days?”

”I said three days, but that was preparation time for the main military forces. We two need to set off in advance. It’s best if we directly capture Peng Jun and Yang Pengguang. The old man wants us to take them by surprise. If that succeeds, there won’t be a need for a full-scale war! You don’t know this, but my old man has already raised the alert level for this war to the highest. Once it starts, he isn’t ruling out using nuclear weapons to bomb the Demon Capital Assembly Site...”

Kuangliu babbled on, giving Wen Yu a headache.

”Alright, alright, you win. Let’s set off now.”

After Wen Yu finished speaking, he headed straight for the door. ”By the way, how are we getting to Magic Capital?”

Kuangliu, following behind Wen Yu, answered seriously, ”By plane.”

Wen Yu looked up at the sky. ”Where’s the plane?”

Then, he saw Kuangliu gesture with his chin.

...

Just over a day had passed, and Star’s injuries had completely healed. Wen Yu opened the 2nd and 3rd Soul Realms, letting out both Cyclops and Star.

As soon as they appeared, Star and Cyclops immediately occupied advantageous positions—Star on Wen Yu’s head and Cyclops in his arms. Wen Yu quickly stuffed a few low-level magic crystals into the two beasts’ mouths. Judging by the way they greedily devoured them, it was clear they had been severely starved in the Soul Realm space.

After feeding Star and Cyclops an ample amount of food, Wen Yu directed Star to head towards Magic Capital. Looking down at the Yanjing Assembly Site, which was already mobilizing for war, he asked Kuangliu in confusion, ”Why has Commander Lin initiated such a large-scale mobilization?”

”We must first secure internal stability before dealing with external threats! Moreover, this war mobilization is essentially a drill... a comprehensive exercise for the upcoming war.”
