Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 397: Chapter 29 Awakening_1

Time went back 10 minutes.

Anna gently hugged Wen Yu and whispered, ”Darling, are you ready?”

Wen Yu looked somewhat dazed. ”Ready... for what?”

”Of course, to kill our enemy—the Night Daemon Smilodon. Have you forgotten? The last time you fought the Night Daemon Smilodon, you were severely injured, and even your memory is incomplete.”

Having said that, Anna softly kissed Wen Yu’s lips. Their eyes met—and the light in Anna’s eyes suddenly glowed brightly!

Another psychic mark...

Moreover, the two were currently in Anna’s Netherworld. Empowered by an unknown, immense power, this psychic mark was even more profound!

Wen Yu’s eyes gradually regained their vibrancy, and his originally vacant expression became lively.

He gently stood up and looked around the familiar room—except for some mist, it was otherwise no different from Annie’s boudoir.

Softly holding Anna’s petite figure, Wen Yu calmly said, ”Darling, let’s go and end this war once and for all!”

...

The sky in the Netherworld was dim, but an unknown light source allowed Wen Yu clear visibility.

The Netherworld’s range wasn’t vast. Even Anna at Peak Level 4, combined with the Night Daemon Smilodon at Early Stage Level 5, couldn’t encompass all of Las Vegas.

Anna’s Netherworld, after devouring and absorbing, now covered a considerable area—more than ninety-five percent of the two Netherworlds. Only the MGM Grand Hotel, also known as the Red Stone Hotel, remained unconquered.

That was the Night Daemon Smilodon’s final stronghold.

Anna’s arm was linked with Wen Yu’s, strolling casually while explaining to him.

”The Night Daemon Smilodon is strong, but it was seriously injured in its fierce battle with you, so it can only maintain a small portion of its Netherworld. This time, your injuries have completely healed, while the Night Daemon Smilodon hasn’t had time to recover due to the harassment from our Netherworld Warriors. So, we’re sure to succeed.”

Wen Yu nodded lightly. ”We definitely will!”

”Here we are.”

Anna chuckled and pointed to the Red Stone Hotel ahead.

There, numerous soldiers in uniform with dull expressions surrounded the Red Stone Hotel.

These were Anna’s Netherworld Warriors!

...

Looking at the Red Stone Hotel in front of him, Wen Yu emotionlessly summoned Palpitation and Mad Medley, and then entered a combat-ready state.

Unfortunately, a problem arose this time.

”What’s the matter?”

Wen Yu turned his head, his eyes fixed on the little Soul Beast still on his shoulder, and asked confusedly.

”Boss... Uh, I think with your strength, you can handle the Night Daemon Smilodon without me.”

Wen Yu’s brow furrowed slightly. This was the first time the little Soul Beast had declined to enter a combat state with him.

However, the bond between a Soul Master and Soul Beast was profound. Wen Yu didn’t dwell on it and simply nodded.

”Although you’re acting strangely today... I’m in a good mood. That wretched cat is on the verge of defeat. Once it’s beaten, we can live peacefully with Annie. You must be happy too, right?”

The little Soul Beast hopped around on Wen Yu’s shoulder, ”Yes, yes, I’m really happy.”

”So...”

Wen Yu lightly rubbed the little Soul Beast’s body and said, ”I forgive your strange behavior today!”

”WOW.”

The little Soul Beast let out an indecipherable Spiritual Fluctuation, then it calmed down.

”Darling, wait for me, I’ll be right back.”

Wen Yu turned and smiled at Anna, then walked straight into the Red Stone Hotel.

Leaving Anna standing there, smiling.

...

Anna’s psychic mark was incredibly domineering.

There are three stages to a psychic mark.

The first stage is subconscious alteration—this had already begun when Wen Yu entered Las Vegas.

The purpose of this stage is to make Wen Yu fall in love with Annie subliminally, even though he hadn’t met her at that time.

Under such circumstances, once the first stage was initiated, it was naturally undetectable!

The Second Stage is when Wen Yu met Annie.

At this point, Anna’s psychic mark, combined with Annie’s own B-Class Passive ability—Charm, and her B-Class Passive ability—Geniality, would inevitably draw Wen Yu deeper. Coupled with the Dream Shaping ability, he would become unable to distinguish dream from reality, and even his memories would become distorted.

When the plan reached the Second Stage, it was essentially considered a success.

Wen Yu, on his own, couldn’t distinguish between dream memories and reality. Even if someone yelled ”You’ve been tricked!” into his ear, it would have no effect!

Because Annie was by Wen Yu’s side, she would capture all his attention! Simultaneously, she would repeatedly use Charm on him, brainwashing him and dismantling his will to resist. With the preceding actions laying the groundwork, even if the little Soul Beast transmitted Spiritual Fluctuations to Wen Yu day and night, and Star and Cyclops yelled at him constantly, he couldn’t withstand the mental control of Anna and Annie. It would only subject Wen Yu to further mental torment.
