Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 367: Chapter 2 Farm_1

”Time difference...”

Wen Yu wasn’t stupid; he immediately thought of this factor.

After pondering seriously for a long while, Wen Yu sighed and lay back down, finding a more comfortable position.

This Treasure Land Protector Number 1 is certainly cautious, Wen Yu thought. He must have used his authority to open the treasure land’s exit in another country. That way, even if Kuangliu and I got out early, we’d be useless if we couldn’t get back to Cathay.

”Sigh...”

Kuangliu sighed deeply and lay down again in his original spot.

Over a month in the Demon Town Tower had completely erased Kuangliu’s worries about Lin Haifeng.

A month wasn’t particularly long, nor was it short. But given the methods of Lin Haifeng and Peng Jun, a month was enough time to turn Cathay upside down several times over. The war between them should have long since concluded.

What the two of them didn’t know was that the change in the treasure land’s exit was actually the work of Sequence Number 1.

”Where’s your communicator? See if you can connect back home. Your watch might be malfunctioning.”

Wen Yu, lying on his back and gazing at the sky, made the suggestion casually. His nonchalant attitude made it clear he didn’t particularly care where they were.

Anyway, with our strength, it doesn’t really matter where we are, as long as it’s not the Demon Realm.

”My watch can’t be faulty. This is a product of the Academy of Sciences—a custom, exclusive War God model!”

Chatting idly with Wen Yu, Kuangliu slowly took out his communicator.

”Not a single bar of signal.”

Then, Kuangliu casually tossed the communicator aside, clearly showing no interest in figuring out their location.

Enjoying the air and sunlight, Wen Yu and Kuangliu slowly drifted off to sleep...

The Thousand-Layer Demon Town Tower had indeed been an ordeal for them both.

In a small grove some distance away, Cyclops and Star were boisterously ”playing.”

Star was gnawing on a third-level mutant beast, gorging on its flesh and blood. Cyclops, meanwhile, had caught a female Level Three mutant dog and was now happily performing vigorous thrusts.

”Star, Star, get your dog bro some food!” Cyclops demanded from Star while continuing to ride the female dog, completely ignoring the aggrieved look in the eyes of the disproportionately small creature beneath him.

”Get it yourself! There are plenty of mutant beasts in the grove; it’s not like you can’t catch one!”

Star shot Cyclops a disdainful look, then turned away with his food, presenting his backside to Cyclops, clearly not wanting to witness the sordid scene any longer.

”So stingy,” Cyclops grumbled, then thrust his hips forcefully, making the female dog beneath him yelp sharply.

”WOOF WOOF.”

The female dog under Cyclops whimpered, pleading for mercy.

”You little hussy, behave yourself,” Cyclops said, paying no attention to what the dog was trying to convey. He lightly patted the female dog’s head with his huge paw, making the poor little thing dizzy.

If a seven-meter-tall, third-level mutant dog could even be called a ”little female dog,” that is.

”WOOF WOOF WOOF!”

The ”little” female dog whined aggrievedly, as if trying to say something.

Of course, only Cyclops could understand this dog language.

Star, however, felt a flicker of curiosity. He had been trapped in the Soul Realm space for too long. He turned his massive head and asked, ”Dog bro, what’s your girl saying?”

”She says this forest is private property, her master’s breeding farm, and she’s the watchdog... Yo, I didn’t realize, she’s a purebred German Shepherd! Never thought this day would come for your ol’ dog bro, eh?”

Cyclops was suddenly smug, completely dismissing the mention of a ”master.”

Whose master could be more awesome than our Boss?

Star, on the other hand, was more cautious.

”Should we inform the Boss?”

Cyclops, in the heat of the moment, had no interest in such ”boring” matters and casually brushed it off.

”You go if you want to. Now that I’m here, this turf is mine. Master, schmaster! Raising a dog only to Early Stage Level Three? What a weakling, if you ask me!”

His words were crude, but not without reason. Besides, Star was easy to fool...

”That’s true,” Star conceded, then lowered his head to enjoy the mutant beast feast on the ground.

Little did the two beasts suspect, however, that if this grove was private property, how could it not have surveillance?

Not far behind them, a pinhole camera hidden among the trees was recording everything.

「...」

Ten minutes earlier, Old Sam was in his cabin in the woods, leisurely sipping coffee and engrossed in a Playboy magazine.

One wall of the cabin was covered with monitors, giving Old Sam a clear view of the entire breeding area.

Old Sam was the caretaker of this breeding farm—strictly speaking, a night watchman. But it was undeniably a cushy job.

Because every professionist operating in this area knew this was the property of the great Lord Klaus!

Indeed, this forest farm was, strictly speaking, an enterprise—specifically, one that supplied a rich variety of mutant beast meat to the largest entertainment venues in Las Vegas.

The kickbacks here are considerable!

If Old Sam hadn’t happened to own a purebred German Shepherd—one that had, moreover, reached the terrifying strength of Early Stage Level Three—he would never have landed this position.

KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK.

A knock sounded at the door. Old Sam put down his magazine and coffee cup, picked up the large, square sunglasses beside him, and grabbed the shotgun at his side.

Old Sam was old, but he himself possessed Peak Level 2 strength. Here, so close to the Las Vegas Assembly Site, his life wasn’t in significant danger.

And besides, he had his dog...

”Who is it?” he called out, his tone quite unfriendly.

”Uncle Sam, we’re here for the pickup.”

Hearing the familiar voice outside, Old Sam finally relaxed his guard. He forcefully picked his nose, then meticulously smoothed the wrinkles on his shirt while looking in the mirror.

”Come in.”

The dilapidated wooden door creaked open, and a rather sleazy figure appeared in the doorway. Behind him followed three flamboyantly dressed, buxom, full-hipped blondes.

”Uncle Sam, any good stock today?”

Old Sam first glanced at the sleazy man’s wrinkled, smiling face, then at the three ”kickbacks” behind him. A subtle smile touched his lips.

”We’ve had plenty of good stock recently. A calf born a while ago had Early Stage Level 1 strength right from birth, and...”

Old Sam deliberately raised an eyebrow.

”It’s off the books,” he whispered, his voice so low that only the sleazy man heard him; the three women behind heard nothing.

”Excellent, excellent.”

The sleazy man nodded with a grin, handing over a large cloth sack he was carrying.

Old Sam squeezed the sack firmly, felt its weight, and nodded in satisfaction.

”You catch on quick, kid... But didn’t I tell you not to bring outsiders in?” Old Sam said with mock severity, but his eyes kept drifting to their jiggling cleavage.

The sleazy man gave Old Sam an obsequious smile. He knew this was just Old Sam’s usual spiel. The old lecher will probably want four women next time.

Old Sam didn’t waste any more words and led the sleazy man directly to the monitors. They scanned the displayed scenes.

After a moment, Old Sam pointed to one of the screens.

”That’s the one.”

On-screen, two mutant bulls, each nearly five meters tall, were leisurely grazing. Behind them trailed a small, wobbly, and endearingly clumsy calf.

Seeing the calf’s condition, the sleazy man nodded in satisfaction.

”Good, very good! The meat must be tender; Lady Annie will definitely be pleased! But Uncle Sam, what’s that little thing over there, next to them?”

The sleazy man pointed to a small black dot trailing behind the three cattle.

”What?”

Old Sam immediately pulled down his sunglasses. He pressed a few buttons, and the image on that section of the screen instantly magnified.

Then, the two of them saw a small, black, winged lizard.

”This is...”

Before Old Sam could finish, the small lizard on the screen suddenly swelled, transforming into a colossal creature with a wingspan of tens of meters and a height of twenty meters!

It then snatched the bull father, turned, and soared into the sky.

Old Sam and the sleazy man were left staring dumbfounded at the screen.

”A dragon... It’s a dragon!” the sleazy man stammered, swallowing hard, his voice trembling.

Given its appearance as a Western Dragon, it wasn’t surprising the two men recognized it.

Old Sam, however, hadn’t considered this at all. He was only thinking of one thing.

”FUCK! My dog!”

Before Old Sam could even begin to search for his dog, the sleazy man pointed to another screen.

On that screen, a colossal gray figure filled the entire frame. Only in the very corners could Old Sam make out two familiar-looking dog legs.

Seeing this, Old Sam was instantly consumed by rage. He snatched up his shotgun and bellowed.

”How dare you touch my dog! I’ll blast you!”

Blinded by fury, Old Sam completely disregarded the disparity in strength.

It was no wonder. Old Sam had raised the German Shepherd for nearly five years. To the childless Old Sam, she was like his own daughter.

The sleazy man, upon seeing the scene on the monitor, didn’t say a word and bolted outside.

Old Sam might have lost his mind, but I haven’t! Anyone with eyes can see that the ’assailant’ over there is more than twenty meters tall!

If I convert that to levels...

The sleazy man didn’t even try to calculate; escape was the only thing on his mind.

Cyclops, however, had no inkling that the master of the ”little beauty” beneath him had flown into a rage. The man was now recklessly plotting to rescue his beloved dog with an old-fashioned shotgun. All the while, Cyclops continued to idly chat and joke with Star, even as he mercilessly ”violated” the German Shepherd under him.

This continued until a flurry of hurried footsteps entered the two beasts’ range of perception.
