Global Lords: I Have Information System

Chapter 449: Chapter 338: Unstoppable Momentum, Mysterious Ritual

It was not until then that the dozen or so Lords suddenly realized.

Immediately, they were filled with regret, for actually, the Expedition Army’s forces were not particularly friendly to these Church Heretics.

They had originally thought of seeking wealth amidst danger, following the Giant City Expedition Army to be the first to break into the village, but instead, they directly turned into cannon fodder.

Moreover, Kunyel had no intention of hiding this, faced with the arrows and lances aimed at them by the surroundings, these Lords had no choice.

Actually, they were wrong from the beginning because it was the Calamity Raven Church that occupied Odu Village, and the Expedition Army was merely passively defending their territory.

They had prematurely labeled the sides as justice and injustice.

In fact, whether it was the Expedition Army or the Calamity Raven Church, the Lords could only be considered a marginal third-party force, unable to attract attention but instead used by them.

However, like Zong Shen before, directly displaying Baron Bezos’ Identity Card and the Dragon Knight emblem was different.

Ultimately, it was because these guys did not have a clear understanding of the Indigenous People.

Neither side was particularly merciful, the Church frequently plundered villages and captured populations.

They were no strangers to burning, killing, and looting, and the rituals of the Calamity Raven Church were already considered relatively ”harmonious.”

If one encountered those death-worshiping churches, blood and life-based rituals emerged endlessly, truly treating life as worthless.

Falling into the hands of such Church Heretics, not even a complete corpse would remain; to them, life was merely a material.

Kunyel, though a Knight Captain of the Dragon Descendant Knight Order Lentates Giant City Branch, as a Senior Knight, had his own glory and principles.

But more importantly, he was an experienced Knight Commander; to him, there was no notion of mercy, using illegal armed forces to lead the charge was a chance for them to demonstrate their abilities.

To him, these dozen or so Lords and their warriors were definitely illegal armed groups, and of a size decent enough to warrant encirclement and annihilation.

The Lords had no choice as they had no doubt that if they dared to reject Kunyel, the awaiting hands would be the attacks from the watchful Expedition Army.

Thus, under Kunyel’s urging, these Lords had no choice but to lead their subordinates into the village first, primarily with Wolf Cavalry, supported by some long-range Tier Three Warriors.

Forming the first echelon entering the village, the expressions of these Lords were all very grim.

Behind them were 240 Avalon Lightly Armored Swordsmen, and further back were the Shooters and Mages, mainly Dragon-kin Rangers and Water and Earth Mages.

In addition, a team of Tier Four Strong Strike Swordsmen had already entered the village.

Tier Four Dragon Language Mages and Avalon Strong Strike Crossbowmen were also in the vicinity, seeking higher ground.

However, the Dragon Descendant Knight Order led by Kunyel did not make a move.

Given the terrain within the village, it was unsuitable for the Knights to enter.

Having infantry advance with numerical superiority to crush was actually more effective.

Urban combat was still best left to the infantry.

The rear’s Magic Energy Catapult and ground crossbows continued bombarding.

Especially the Magic Energy Catapult, which seemed to have changed to a new type of throwing ammunition.

No longer purple, but a black metallic sphere, upon hitting the ground, it would emit violent explosions.

Containing many metal pellets inside, they would sweep out wildly, forming a zone of mass destruction.

The catapult fire was a torment for the Cold Crow Halberd Warriors.

The Tower of the Raven was also under continuous bombardment by ground crossbows, causing its Durability Value to drop steadily.

The upper part of the tower was riddled with holes by crossbow arrows, and at this rate, the entire Tower of the Raven might be shot down by the ground crossbows.

The frontline advance on the ground was also very swift; under the bombardment by the catapult, the Cold Crow Halberd Warriors could not form formations and had to retreat step by step.

Under the lead of those dozen or so Lords, the Expedition Army penetrated the village; as the Mages and Shooters reached range, the following climax was just beginning.

Earth Mages collectively chanted Earth Magic spells, the ground shook constantly, with spikes and rocks rising from the earth, the surrounding village homes started tilting and collapsing under the strain.

The village homes collapsed one after another, the earth continually trembled, and various dust and debris swept out amidst the collapse of the village homes.

The Church Warriors seemed unable to resist such an offensive, retreating continuously.

The infantry advance line of the entire Expedition Army went two to three hundred meters deep without encountering effective resistance.

Only occasionally, some sharp arrows and Magic Bullets would shoot forth, not many in number, unable to form effective damage to the infantry line.

In response, each time there were several times the arrows and Magic Attacks as counterstrikes.

Those Church Shooters and Mages standing on the nearby rooftops also retreated, with various attacks hitting the village homes, riddling their roofs and walls with holes.

The buildings within Odu Village were mostly stone and wooden structures, with not very high Durability Values, comparable to the Tier Three Stone Houses in the Lords’ territories, sufficient for sheltering but inadequate against the attacks from Tier Three and Tier Four Shooters and Mages.
