Global Lords: I Have Information System

Chapter 401: Chapter 313: Monster Horde Annihilation, The Final Harvest

Zong Shen now waits for the swarm to be nearly wiped out before those Burrow Heroes appear for him to make a move.

Other Burrow Monsters he can afford to dismiss, but he absolutely won’t miss the Burrow Heroes, as each Burrow Hero is worth 1000 points and Extraction Value.

Zong Shen lazily leaned against the city wall, practically having ”freeloader” written on his face.

Earlier he was working hard to cut down enemies, but now he’s leisurely playing around, with a stark contrast to his former image.

However, once a certain level of strength is achieved, it becomes quite easy to do as one pleases. Other lords are now enjoying the benefits, hoping Zong Shen won’t step in, allowing them to harvest more Burrow Monsters.

In this chase-and-compete atmosphere, the number of Burrow Monster swarms in the south is rapidly decreasing.

The numerical advantage is getting smaller, but there are still combat casualties in the battle.

The main casualties are among the front-line close combat soldiers. If they encounter a sneak attack by Burrow Heroes or get targeted by Ghostly Demonesses, there’s a risk of casualties.

Additionally, with the inconsistency among these close combat soldiers, ranging from Whiteboard Soldiers trained and recruited by the Lords themselves to Professional Soldiers summoned by the Recruitment Scrolls, the battle has led to seventy to eighty casualties since Zong Shen moved to the south.

This number hasn’t yet reached ten percent of the total number of front-line close combat soldiers in the south, and with the two to three hundred lords here averaged, the overall casualties are completely acceptable.

To them, this ratio of gains to losses is already quite handsome.

In the earlier battle, Zong Shen again accumulated Extraction Value and received 1 point of Strength Gain.

Now his Strength Attribute has reached 84 points, and his Life Value Limit has become 1238 points.

Another ten minutes passed in the blink of an eye, and the swarm in front had less than two thousand left.

Zong Shen donned his battle helmet, put away his two big sabers, and took out the Dragon-Slaying Heavy Sword, once again heading for the front line. His gaze was firmly locked onto the three Burrow Heroes and a dozen Ghostly Demonesses among the swarm.

By now, these Ghostly Demonesses and Burrow Heroes had already exhausted their controlling skills.

The number of lords arriving from the outskirts was also increasing. Just on the southern perimeter of the territory, there was a leader group of several hundred in size.

This group consisted of several dozen lords who arrived successively.

The situation was similar in other directions; additionally, Korby was leading over a hundred Wolf Cavalry Warriors to patrol and attack the territory perimeter, continuously putting pressure on the Burrow Monster swarm.

Given this situation, the Burrow Monsters around the territory could be completely exterminated within five minutes.

While resting earlier, Zong Shen inquired a bit about strategy.

Now, Burrow Monster swarms are arriving from all directions, with the farthest being more than a hundred kilometers from his territory, likely unable to arrive before the challenge ends.

Zong Shen determined that the real threat existed within a 20-kilometer range, with five monster swarms, distributed unevenly in distance. The nearest swarm, numbering over fifty thousand, will arrive in about an hour.

The remaining swarms would arrive in roughly 2 to 5 hours, all essentially towards the end of the challenge.

This means, after extermination of this wave of Burrow Monsters, during the challenge time, there won’t be another siege by monster swarms numbering in several hundreds of thousands.

As for Burrow Monster swarms 20 kilometers away, they can be ignored, as they likely won’t reach Zong Shen territory before the challenge ends.

All this is within Zong Shen’s expectations, and with his Dragon-Slaying Heavy Sword in hand, he charged into the swarm. Among this swarm, the three Burrow Heroes included one Abyssal Worm and two Death Knights.

Zong Shen’s target was clear, dashing directly toward them. All the other lords watching could tell that Zong Shen was aiming to slay the Burrow Heroes.

They all began ordering their Ranged Warriors to attack the Burrow Heroes, also wanting to share part of the spoils, as Burrow Heroes are the most valuable units.

Various ranged attacks volleyed toward these Burrow Heroes spectacularly, quickly reducing their Life Value. The Burrow Heroes were powerless in the face of concentrated fire.

Zong Shen, however, seemed unfazed, as these ranged attacks lightened his attack burden.

Directly, Zong Shen lightly leaped up, wielding the Heavy Sword before the two Death Knights, striking out with it. With just one strike, he perfectly depleted the remaining Life Value of a Death Knight, causing any subsequent ranged attacks to fall to the ground futilely.

He picked up the Basic Challenge Fragment from the ground and then turned around, attacking the second Death Knight not far away. Again, he swung the Heavy Sword; a high-damage blow precisely harvested the remaining less than two hundred points of Life Value.

Similarly, he quickly collected the Challenge Fragment.

The two Death Knights contributed 2000 points and Extraction Value.

Zong Shen’s Strength Attribute increased by 1 point again, becoming 85 points, and his Life Value Limit rose to 1243 points.

After finishing off the two Death Knights, the Burrow Monster swarm in the southern area of the territory was nearly eradicated. With Zong Shen leading the charge, the remaining lords also began to furiously reap Burrow Monsters like wolves.

On the spot, an Abyssal Worm had gone into a burrowing state, and after a glance, Zong Shen decisively chose to let it be, leaving it to other lords to tinker with. The south was almost cleared, yet some monster swarms remained in other areas. With this time gap, Zong Shen could still cast his net elsewhere for more rewards.

So he decisively withdrew, dashing to the territory’s west, where the initial 40,000-plus monster swarm now shrank to four to five thousand.

[Heavy Combat Puppet]’s magic energy was depleted and was now stationary in the middle of the swarm, showing some remarkably noticeable marks. Though its defense was formidable, it still sustained some damage within the swarm.

This swarm originally had seven Burrow Monsters, now down to four, all in a critical state. In the swarm, there’s a 30-meter diameter area continuously emitting gray mist, causing the Life Value of the Burrow Monsters within to drop slightly.

This was a Decaying Area left behind after a Wailing Lich’s death.

Zong Shen cautiously avoided this area, clearly targeting the remaining Burrow Heroes.

Within five minutes, out of the remaining four Burrow Heroes, Zong Shen took down three.

The Strength Attribute increased by 2 points again, reaching 87 points.

After eliminating the Burrow Heroes in the western territory, Zong Shen hastened northward.

However, when he reached the north, almost all the Burrow Monsters were already cleared out.

Only sixteen to seventeen hundred Burrow Monsters and seven to eight Burrow Heroes remained clustered together, now with roles reversed: the lords’ side aggressively attacking the remaining Burrow Monsters.

This direction faced the largest monster swarm, but also had the most defensive forces, bolstered by Giant Cannon Tower support, so the clearing speed wasn’t slow.

This was a slight deviation from his prior judgment; this swarm should have had over twenty Burrow Heroes, now only seven or eight remain.

Now at the tail end of the Burrow Challenge, missing this opportunity means there won’t be another soon.

Fortunately, a few were left for him, and Zong Shen charged ahead with his Heavy Sword. This was the final harvest!

Lords from other directions also converged, with additional lords from the periphery joining in, turning the scene into a frenzied feast!

Within three to four minutes, this group of Burrow Monsters was completely exterminated.

Lords completed the final reaping in a frenzy.

In the recent battle, a total of more than two thousand lords gradually participated.

Among the more than ten thousand warriors, only seven to eight hundred were casualties!
