Chapter 430: Chapter 328: Command Planning, Standoff at Odu Village

”Alright, all command planning is complete.”

”Now I must prepare to set out for Odu Village.”

”Those I call, step out of the ranks, the rest are dismissed on the spot.”

”Wenresa, you come to my side first.”

”The Fire Technique team stays, the Arcane team stays, the Dragonized Spear and Shield Warrior Squad stays, Wolf Rider Squad One stays, the Immortal Gun Cavalry Squad stays, the Sharp Claw Druid Team stays, the Dragon Descendant Ranger Team stays, the Dark Night Squad stays.”

”Tasuya, Aisha, Milani also stay separately.”

Zong Shen called out a total of 59 warriors, including 28 cavalry, the remaining 21 warriors and Wenresa were to ride the Burden-Bearer Mecha, while Zong Shen himself rode Pigsy.

Everyone else was dismissed, and Zong Shen first utilized those three building blueprints, storing them in the [Building] list. Marie and her team left the territory to start planning the periphery, while Wolf Rider Squads Two and Three were responsible for guarding them.

As for the remaining warriors, they were temporarily without additional tasks, staying at the territory to guard the place and ensuring support when Zong Shen and the others returned.

After making all the arrangements, Zong Shen led the way in the front, followed by the Female Hunter Squad. To the left and right were the Immortal Gun Cavalry Squad and Wolf Cavalry Squad, forming an advancing column. Further back were Wenresa and her team riding the Burden-Bearer Mecha.

They advanced towards Odu Village located to the west of the territory. Shortly after their departure, two carts loaded with goods arrived from the south, heading from the direction of Dinan Village. Tiezhu had procured supplies there under orders.

The situations in Dinan and Sitanos Village were quite similar, with very scarce reserves of cold-resistant materials. This time, he managed to procure a batch of raw materials, totaling 372 sheepskins, dozens of sheepskin coats, three barrels of hard bread, and two barrels of wheat bran cakes, all stored in large sealed wooden barrels. There were also more than ten pieces of dried half sheep, which were relatively easy to store.

When he reached the south of the territory, due to the absence of everyone in the territory, he could only contact Marie, asking her to return to the territory to hand over the goods while she additionally gave Tiezhu a few thousand dinars as operating funds, as Zong Shen had previously instructed.

After Tiezhu handed over the goods, he left with the two indigenous drivers on the cart.

Marie arranged for San Pang and his team to store the supplies, and she directly placed the [Thunder Domain Miracle (Fragmented)] in the southern direction of the inner city, only four to five hundred meters from the southern inner city wall.

She also placed the [Craftsman Statue (Golden)] nearby. According to the future territorial plan, a distance of four to five hundred meters was negligible, still within the range of the inner city circle.

As for the eight pillars of the [Red Gold Barrier Pillar (Golden)], their placement required further research. Initially, they could be placed at the edge of the territory, and as the territory expanded, their positions could be gradually shifted.

All these buildings covered a large range, but the actual effective range could not exceed the existing Territory Level.

Apart from placing these super buildings, Marie had to work with Hoy and Dutra to begin planning the layout of the outskirts. They marked out areas with branches and moved stones as markers, starting from the Lord’s Courtyard as the center, designating an area within a radius of one kilometer as the inner city circle.

Outside the inner city circle, the entire territory resembled a doughnut, divided into four sectors, with pathways left open. Even if the territory expanded, the four main areas could expand in alignment, without any conflicts or limitations.

...

Within the territory, Marie and her team were enthusiastically engaged in planning.

Outside, Zong Shen was tirelessly leading the team towards Odu Village. Considering the speed of the Burden-Bearer Mecha, it was estimated to take over an hour to reach a few kilometers outside Odu Village.

At this time, the entire Odu Village was under an ominous atmosphere of an impending confrontation.

A few hundred meters outside the village, the Expeditionary Army from Lentates Giant City had fully assembled.

They even constructed temporary positions, with accompanying Earth Mages altering the terrain, erecting spiked walls and massive rock barriers.

This created a front-line barrier, preventing them from directly facing Odu Village’s positions.

A total of twenty squads with 240 Tier Two Avalon Lightly Armored Swordsmen formed neat lines, standing by, along with ten squads of 120 Tier Three Dragon-kin Rangers and a squad of Tier Four Avalon Strong Strike Crossbowmen, who took positions on nearby high ground, concealing themselves while aiming towards Odu Village.

There were also ten squads of mages, five of which were Earth Mages and the other five Water Mages, all hiding behind the temporary positions.

Viscount Kunyel led a squad of Tier Four Avalon Strong Strike Swordsmen and nearly nine squads of Dragon Knights to the forefront.

Originally, he brought a company totaling 120 Tier Four Dragon Descendant Heavy Knights, but now only 106 remained. Fourteen knights were lost in the morning skirmishes at the Burial Ground.

In the morning, he had sent a Knight Squad Leader named Essao with three squads to raid the Burial Ground.

However, upon reaching the Burial Ground, they found that the Calamity Raven Church heretics had already prepared defenses.

Upon their arrival, three Church Elders immediately cast spells, deploying the Raven Entanglement group control magic, followed by an attack from Church Heavy Armor Shooters and Calamity Mages. Lastly, they were engaged in close combat by six ferocious Raven Puppets.

The Raven Entanglement group control skill notably affected the knights’ mobility.

With reduced mobility, the knights’ combat effectiveness was at least halved. Coupled with the fierce, fearless Raven Puppets, the mission failed.

Despite their strong attributes, the Heavy Knights were quickly overwhelmed when immobilized.

If not for Squad Leader Essao decisively ordering a retreat, the remaining knights might not have returned in time.

This mission turned out to be unfortunate, primarily because Kunyel underestimated the enemy. As a kingdom force, Kunyel had always looked down on these heretic forces, maintaining a sense of superiority throughout.

Yet the quick setback took him by surprise, leading Kunyel to treat them more cautiously.

Behind the positions, twelve Earth Beast Vehicles had unloaded supplies, with various parts of magic energy siege machinery being transported to the front line, assembled by a squad of Tier Four Avalon Dragon Language Mages. Each piece bore the insignia of the Avalon Kingdom.

One by one, siege machines were assembled. They were not large, only small to medium-sized siege equipment, products of magic energy technology and rune technology.

At this moment, Odu Village was entirely covered by the thick Raven Dome.

This dome was supported by totem pillars, serving as a special church defense building. Judging by its range and defense, its tier shouldn’t exceed Rare Level, but it was just right for protecting Odu Village.

That morning, Kunyel had sent the Dragon Eagle Squad to Bang City to call for help. Now, he was constructing temporary positions and assembling siege equipment while waiting for reinforcements.

The cavalry unit of Bang City and the local knight orders nearby, considering the elapsed time, should start arriving within two to four hours at the fastest.

Once all reinforcements arrived, it would be time to launch a full-scale attack.
