Chapter 431: Chapter 329: Launching the Attack, Rallying at Odu Village

Although Kunyel had assembled the Expedition Army at Odu Village, appearing ready for a frontal assault.

He was equally attentive to the situation at the Burial Ground.

Because there, three Church elders were personally in charge.

You must know that Church elders are considered high-level within the Church.

The fact that three elders were dispatched at once shows the importance the Calamity Raven Church places on this operation.

Previously, Dragon Eagle Female Captain Denise had reported to him that there was a gathering of Ravens above Odu Village.

There is only one possibility for such a phenomenon, that a Tower of the Raven has been erected in the village. However, because of the Raven Dome’s concealment, they couldn’t see the situation inside the village.

Thus, the intention of the Calamity Raven Church at the Burial Ground was blatantly clear.

Both Odu Village and the Burial Ground are crucial points for the Church Heretics in this operation. If Kunyel splits his forces to attack the Burial Ground, it might not succeed. If he commits all his forces, he risks being attacked from the rear by the Church Heretics stationed in Odu Village, creating a pincer situation.

Friction often occurs between the various Church forces and Kingdom forces, but those Church forces rarely dare to engage the Kingdom Expedition Army, typically fleeing after causing trouble.

This time, the Calamity Raven Church is clearly waiting for them, with provocations from the start being quite obvious, from occupying Odu Village to annihilating Boss Bang’s Expedition Army, continuously challenging the Kingdom’s authority.

Even now, with Kunyel leading a squadron of Dragon Descendant Heavy Knights and over six hundred Giant City Expedition Army members for the assault, the opposition still hasn’t fled. Instead, they’ve established defensive positions on the spot, showing incredible confidence not characteristic of typical Church Heretics.

Kunyel now realizes why the Calamity Raven Church is so confident.

This is an evident strategy, straightforward yet effective, clearly waiting for them to take the bait.

For Kingdom forces, any provocations and attacks by other forces are met with swift retaliation, like a dog with its tail stepped on.

The Calamity Raven Church has calculated this, conserving energy in Odu Village, while maintaining its original plan and aiming to annihilate the Giant City’s Expedition Army.

Kunyel now has an ominous feeling lingering in his mind.

During the march, he suspected the opponent might have set traps, but he underestimated the boldness of the Calamity Raven Church.

However, now the die is cast, and the proud Kingdom Army cannot retreat due to fear of Church forces. If word got out, Lentates Giant City and even the entire Avalon Kingdom would become laughingstocks on the continent.

This is the true significance of the evident strategy: even if Kunyel has realized something is wrong, he must brace himself to stay and make arrangements.

Over an hour later, the frontline positions were finally arranged, and the magic energy equipment was assembled. There were twelve in total, six resembling catapults, with silvery-white bodies and a head-sized Giant Dragon Roar badge from Avalon Kingdom on the side.

These catapults use a counterweight structure, with a large metal counterweight hanging at one end of the launcher. Four magic energy push rods at the rear can be activated to flip the launcher, while the counterweight descends, propelling the ammunition.

At this moment, all catapults were in a ready state, each with a coconut-sized, pale purple sphere as ammunition.

About ten meters behind each catapult, trenches over a meter deep were dug to store boxes of catapult elixirs.

There were also six siege equipment pieces, the heavy position crossbows, with millstone-sized giant winches on the side. The bases could adjust firing angles, with caster wheels allowing a maximum rotation of 270 degrees for the crossbows.

The crossbow chamber held a giant crossbow arrow, as thick as an arm, with the huge winch completely tightened, and a massive crossbow string made of Giant Ape Beast sinews strung taut.

The temporary positions of the Kingdom Expedition Army were thus fully arranged.

Kunyel sat on his Dragon Scale Warhorse, his head fully covered by his battle helmet, hiding any hint of his concerned expression. He drew his Knight’s Battle Sword, pointing it toward Odu Village.

”Dragon Language Mages, begin readying for the long-range Dragon Flame Bomb magic chant.”

”Prepare the magic energy catapults and heavy military crossbows to launch.”

”First, crack open this black turtle shell!”

The range from here exceeds a normal arrow and magic range, with only siege equipment and certain long-range magic able to reach Oduo.

This applies equally to the Church Warriors inside Odu Village.

All Dragon Language Mages raised their magic staffs and began chanting.

The second-tier Avalon Light Armor Swordsmen also approached the catapults and heavy position crossbows to start operating, aiming towards Odu Village.

The black Raven Dome has a Durability Value of 500,000 points, a figure not too high for Kunyel. If his forces charged together, they could quickly destroy the Raven Dome.
