Global Lords: I Have Information System

Chapter 436: Chapter 331: When a Man Dies, the Falcon Faces the Sky; Magic Energy Mechanical Falcon

He took out the [Magic Energy Mechanical Falcon] obtained from the points exchange, infused it with magic energy, and then let it fly. The projection pearl in his hand began projecting the image of the mechanical falcon.

This thing belongs to magic energy technology, and although the projection isn’t particularly clear, the perspective from high altitude is still passable.

Zong Shen held the projection pearl, controlling the falcon with his mind to ascend to over a thousand meters high, then fly towards Odu Village, trying not to reveal any trace.

At this height, it basically exceeded the alert range of ordinary shooters, as well as the detection range of the Eye of Truth from the general detection towers.

In the territory that Zong Shen raided, there was a detection tower, so he had some experience in counter-surveillance.

From the perspective at a thousand meters high, Odu Village looked like a black basin, while to the west of the village, the expedition army set up a temporary base, continuously using siege equipment to bombard the black barrier shield covering Odu Village.

Due to the isolation of the Raven Dome inside Odu Village, the interior situation couldn’t be spied on, so Zong Shen could only focus his observation on the Giant City Expedition Army.

From a thousand meters high, the warriors of the expedition army looked like tiny grains, with only the cavalry and siege equipment appearing more noticeable.

At the rear of the temporary base, Zong Shen roughly estimated the number of the expedition army, definitely not fewer than seven hundred people.

The cavalry unit was split into two parts: one slightly smaller in number, and the other slightly larger. Due to the distant view and unclear projection, Zong Shen couldn’t immediately distinguish which part came as reinforcements and which part belonged to the Kingdom Knight Order.

So, he decided to close in for a better look. Carefully, he controlled the [Magic Energy Mechanical Falcon] to fly away from above Odu Village, directly heading one or two kilometers west of it, gradually lowering the falcon’s flight height, stopping only at about a hundred meters in elevation, which is roughly thirty stories high.

Below, there were twelve massive earth beasts with sturdy limbs, spanning lengths of a dozen to twenty meters from head to tail. Behind them, they towed huge trailers of similar lengths, resembling massive trail heads pulling heavy cargo boxes on Earth.

The rear trailers had eight sets of driving wheels and two sets of universal wheels at the front end. The entire trailer was latched onto the earth beasts’ hindtails by a metal cage the thickness of an arm.

The back of these earth beasts, like a crocodile, was covered with raised keratinous plate armor, and a large tail aligned with the body, ending with a bony tail hammer.

One such vehicle could carry fifty to sixty people and some gear and cargo. At full speed, it wasn’t slow compared to the typical grassland horse, only slightly inferior to the dragon scale warhorses of the knight orders. Considering the bumpy terrain, rest periods for the beasts, the overall marching speed was quite commendable.

The Avalon Knight Order arrived only about seven to eight hours ahead of the earth beast convoy.

Zong Shen naturally didn’t know these details; he was simply intrigued by the method the kingdom forces used for long-distance travel.

After circling once over the earth beast convoy, the mechanical falcon began to approach the Giant City Expedition Army’s temporary base from the rear.

The perspective from a hundred meters high was much clearer than from a thousand meters.

Beside the temporary base was a small forest, with the area before the base modified by earth mages, the ground raised to form spikes and stone walls, creating some simple defensive works.

Zong Shen wasn’t sure if surveillance methods were set up here, so he cautiously controlled the [Magic Energy Mechanical Falcon] to land in a nearby forest, drilling into the crown of a large tree at the edge.

The mechanical falcon perched on a branch, using the gaps in the tree canopy to peep at the expedition army’s base.

Suddenly, at the edge of the projection’s field of view, half a black wing flashed by as if something was by the mechanical falcon, prompting Zong Shen to direct the falcon to turn its head.

There, he saw a black raven standing next to the mechanical falcon, also watching it.

A real bird and a fake bird, standing on the same treetop, looking at each other with big eyes glaring at small eyes.

The black raven, quite spirited, turned its head, glanced at the mechanical falcon’s wings and body, pecked at its head, then flew off.

It landed on another treetop nearby, continuing to sneakily watch the expedition army’s base through the treetop gaps, appearing utterly disdainful of the mechanical falcon.

”Did this raven become enlightened?”

”How can it look down on me even through the projection?”

Zong Shen withdrew his gaze, pondering in confusion, suspecting that this raven might be a scout dispatched by the Calamity Raven Church.

Fortunately, the well water of the two didn’t interfere with each other; you don’t recognize me, and I don’t recognize you. Everyone minds their own business.

Inside Odu Village, the Raven Saintess Shafuri, seated cross-legged atop the Tower of the Raven, suddenly opened her eyes. Her eyes were pitch black, seemingly lacking focus and definite sight, yet she suddenly smiled.

”Interesting, truly interesting.”

”Erica, how much longer can the Raven Dome hold?”

She asked, and a female deacon standing behind her slightly bowed.

While keeping an eye on the dome above, she reported honestly.

”Given the intensity of this attack, in about two more hours, the dome will be breached.”

”The charging recovery speed can’t keep up with their rate of destruction.”

”This is assuming they haven’t launched a full-scale attack yet.”

The Raven Saintess Shafuri nodded at the words, her eyes never recovering.

”Understood, alert me when the relic at the Burial Ground is cleared.”

”Our task now is to buy time; inform the Apostle Corps and other village deacons to rest and prepare for battle.”

”Additionally, instruct the warriors to keep an eye on those laborers and check the few preparation blood pools set up in the village.”

”When necessary, use those laborers as supplements.”

Shafuri slowly stated, closing her eyes once more, entering that mysterious state.

”Understood, Lady Saintess.”

The female deacon bowed slightly, and although Shafuri couldn’t see, she didn’t dare to slack off in etiquette.

At this moment, only a few hundred ravens circled over Odu Village, down from the initial tens of thousands.

In four directions within the village, several square meter pits were dug, filled with the pungent blood of ravens, faintly emitting a blood-red glow.

On the ground beside these blood pools, there were formations connecting them.

These formations were linked by secret silver pillars the thickness of an arm, carved with rune patterns.

Some nodes were crafted with high-level magic pattern stones, while others used raven bones, high-level frost runes, basic and intermediate frost gemstones, and some gem powder as casting materials.

Centered around the Tower of the Raven, half of Odu Village lay within the formations’ range.

The female deacon named Erica summoned a raven, whispered into its ear, then released it to deliver messages.

...

Outside Odu Village, beside the expedition army’s temporary base, Zong Shen was secretly controlling the mechanical falcon, already obtaining a rough understanding of the expedition army’s composition.

Especially when the Avalon Knight Order appeared in the falcon’s perspective, it made his mouth water.

Not to mention, there was an entire squadron here, ten small squads of Dragon-kin Rangers. These ranger shooters were all women.

With tall statures and cool gazes, they possessed a high and cold temperament.

The shooters’ sharp eyes gave them a cold aura, which added extra charm.

If Zong Shen had such a squadron of ranger ladies, even the hot spring pools in his territory would not suffice!
