Global Lords: I Have Information System

Chapter 246: Chapter 235: Expansion Underway, Monster Bird Attack

The larger the expansion of the territory, the wider the recruitment range of the legion, and by then we can even pick and choose members without running around everywhere like Medina for just one member.

If we are to do something, we must do it with excellence, build the most powerful regional legion, and establish our position as the Overlord of the region, that’s Zong Shen’s small goal.

The Level 4 expansion task began, and after several minutes of waiting, enemies gradually started to be attracted and arrived in succession.

This time it was a pack of Grassland Wolves plus a few Goblin Scouts, along with some other Beast-type Monsters.

They were not here to challenge Zong Shen; they were basically just here to provide provisions, subsidizing the territory’s food supply.

However, those goblins were indeed rare guests ever since seeing two goblin teams fighting against the Spider Web Monsters in the mine, Zong Shen hadn’t seen them for a long time.

All these goblins attracted here were Lightly Armored Scouts, roving around to gather intelligence for the tribe and find targets.

Who knew that today their luck was unfavorable; they were drawn by Zong Shen’s expansion task and were immediately strangled by the warrior-like ferocity upon entering the territory’s vicinity.

In another direction, over twenty Grassland Wolves rushed in, and just upon reaching the range of a thousand meters from the territory, they were met with the powerful strikes of the Ancient Guardian, large solid fruits the size of basins hurled along a parabolic path, directly smashing onto them.

The Arrow Towers also began to exert force, shooting sharp arrows with stability and precision, like a fine drizzle falling upon the Grassland Wolves.

They turned several of the Grassland Wolves in the lead into porcupines, but the Grassland Wolves’ life force was very tenacious, and their Armor Value was not low. They charged while enduring the arrows stuck on them.

But even if these Grassland Wolves were ferocious and tenacious, they couldn’t break through the blockade of the Arrow Towers and the Ancient Guardian. By the time a squad of soldiers arrived, the Grassland Wolves were completely eliminated.

In less than an hour, Zong Shen raised the territory from Level 1 to Level 4; after accumulating so much power over time, leveling up now was easy.

Zong Shen’s territory level ranking directly rose to fourth place, tied with Chen Rui, both being Level 4 territories. After a few days of silence, Chen Rui was gradually being caught up with.

However, Zong Shen reckoned that guy still had some strength left, just taking a temporary pause. In the future, he could become a strong contender on the leaderboard.

Zong Shen was not bothered by these matters. Ultimately, the core factor in competing for the ranking still boiled down to one’s own strength and that of the territory.

The Grassland Wolves were swiftly wiped out, followed by the prompt indicating successful expansion.

Zong Shen continued instructing his warriors to drag back the wolf carcasses, while the Goblin Scouts were stripped of their equipment and buried in the ground some distance away from the territory. These humanoid creatures only contributed some equipment and experience, their oily green bodies uneatable, and the humanoid form unpleasant to deal with.

Grassland Wolves and Porcupines, on the other hand, were more practical—the beasts dragged back by the warriors were cleaned up by Marie, who called the farmers to fetch clean water and knives, opened them up, and sliced them into fine meat as thick as an arm, handed over to San Pang for unified handling.

Undoubtedly, this beast meat would be found on the territory’s dining table tonight.

Zong Shen stood there drowsily, eyes half-open, casually yawning.

Compared to his battle experience, the difficulty of this territory expansion task was trifling.

Not to mention that he could inquire about strategies to pre-emptively mitigate some risks.

Seeing the territory expansion complete, Zong Shen didn’t dilly-dally, he opened the [Territory] interface again, preparing for the next level expansion task.

[Territory: Level 4]

[City Lord’s Mansion: Level 2]

[Current expandable range: 5000 meters in radius, complete the land expansion task for successful expansion]

[Click to start expansion]

Once reaching Level 5, one could be the top in the current ranking.

”Hope some formidable monsters show up this time.”

”Otherwise, it’s just too dull.”

Zong Shen said with utter boredom.

It wasn’t arrogance, but indeed, this expansion task didn’t stimulate him, wasn’t challenging, and lacked excitement, which made the battle-hardened Zong Shen a bit weary.

The Level 5 expansion task will attract 40 hostile targets randomly within a 25-kilometer radius.

Each time, the hostile range will increase by 5 kilometers, and hostile targets will increase by 10.

However, all hostile targets are randomly drawn from the range, regardless of the place, and the number of ordinary monsters always exceeds that of powerful monsters.

So the likelihood of drawing ordinary monsters is the highest, but if there are few hostile targets left within range, powerful lurking monsters might get selected.

Others doing territory expansion always hope for weaker monsters, but now Zong Shen wishes to attract some powerful monsters, of course, excluding those like the Greedy Handsome Guy.

Upon Zong Shen clicking, the Level 5 territory expansion formally began.

From afar, Zong Shen heard a thunderous rumble; unexpectedly, a large herd of Grassland Oxs were attracted, numbering over thirty, their horns brimming with Strength, charging as a mass.

Once they gathered and charged, it was challenging for the Wolf Cavalry to engage them effectively, but long-range attacks and the attacks from the Arrow Towers were still efficient.

Wolf Cavalry could only hover around, like a sharp blade, consistently harassing the charging herd.

Back when Zong Shen dealt with the frenzied beasts at night, he had faced quite a few Grassland Oxs.

These creatures were prairie oxs, temperamental and highly aggressive, especially fierce when they charged.

But in the end, they were just here to provide provisions. If all these Grassland Oxs were butchered, they could feed for half a month, saving a lot on food costs.

Zong Shen still didn’t intervene; these ox herds provided a great practice for the warriors and tested the territory’s defenses, observing how far these Grassland Oxs could charge under such circumstances.

While Zong Shen was watching leisurely, a shadow swept across the territory’s sky, circling above.

He looked up to see a giant black bird circling above the territory, its size intimidating, almost matching that of a Horned Eagle Battle Beast.

Then the Arrow Towers automatically shifted their focus, targeting the strange bird in the sky, commencing their attack, as did the Ancient Guardian, hurling large solid fruits.

The creature performed aerial maneuvers, evading many arrows but still unwilling to retreat, not ascending higher, seemingly poised to strike.

During its maneuvers, Zong Shen noticed a saddle on the bird’s back, as if someone was riding it. However, due to the bird’s rapid movements and the vantage angle, he couldn’t see clearly.

The creature hovered about a hundred meters above the territory, dodging wave after wave of attacks.

Arrows had already pierced into it, and palm-long feathers and red blood fell like raindrops. Curiously, the blood seemed to emit an endless coldness as it dropped, freezing the vicinity with white frost marks.

”Chirp!!”

The strange bird let out a long cry, beginning to dive, spewing white chill from its mouth.

This time, Zong Shen saw clearly; there was indeed a person on the bird’s back.

Wearing a leather cap and Light Armor inscribed with a Raven Badge.

Clearly, this person was also a member of the Calamity Raven Church.

A round Message Barrel hung at the waist, not appearing as a warrior but rather as a Scout.

Seeing the bizarre expression of the bird rider, Zong Shen already guessed the situation.
