Global Lords: I Have Information System

Chapter 230: Chapter 225: Know When to Quit, Leave Odu Village

Zong Shen finished reading the information about the Tower of the Raven and the annotated hints, and understood everything in his heart.

The occupation of Odu Village was to attract the Demon’s Soul.

And attracting the Demon’s Soul was to perform a sacrificial summoning to call forth the Raven Spirit.

This Raven Spirit can perform the Raven Baptism for the believers, greatly enhancing their attributes, which is the key to the strength of the soldiers of the Raven Church.

By summoning more Raven Spirits, they could baptize more believers and cultivate more powerful Church Warriors. Additionally, the Raven Spirit itself is a powerful presence.

All of this is ultimately to strengthen the power of the church. Speaking of powerful souls, the Demon’s Soul is indeed a good choice.

Zong Shen and these villagers were led to the side of the square, where dozens of large pieces of wood were piled up.

Their job was to carry these pieces of wood to the Tower of the Raven in groups of several people.

In addition, Zong Shen also saw a large pile of long secret silver pillars forged on the side, with quite a number, at least several thousand pieces, of considerable value.

Secret silver is considered a relatively precious mineral, second only to refined gold. In ordinary quarrying, it takes about two hundred pieces of stone to yield forty pieces of iron, ten pieces of copper, and one piece of secret silver.

Zong Shen first acquired secret silver from the backpack of that deceased Elf Race strongman.

Secret silver has strong Magic Affinity and is one of the essential materials for making high-level Magic Energy Cores, engraving various Magic Runes, and constructing advanced buildings.

Now Zong Shen was quite excited. While cooperating with other farmers, he lifted a large piece of wood and was already thinking about how to pocket all the secret silver.

Under the command of the Cold Crow Halberd Warriors, they carried the wood into the tower, climbing the crude staircase all the way up, totaling over ten stories high, to reach the half-tower position more than fifty meters up.

Zong Shen didn’t feel much, but the farmers were exhausted.

On the tower, there were also a dozen Calamity Mages in gray magic robes engraving runes on the secret silver pillars.

In addition, other villagers, under the supervision of the Cold Crow Halberd Warriors, were using thumb-thick nails to fix the wood to the tower body, then dousing it with raven’s fresh blood.

The whole tower was filled with the smell of blood and the stench of slaughtered birds. Although the Calamity Raven Church did not massacre villagers, the way this Tower of the Raven was being constructed was indeed somewhat sinister.

After placing that piece of wood, Zong Shen and the others went downstairs, preparing to move the second piece.

After all this commotion, there were still ten minutes left before the [Transformation Potion] wore off. He needed to find an opportunity to withdraw or drink another potion to maintain the transformation effect.

Back at the foot of the tower, the Saintess was whispering to a Deacon, discussing some confidential matters. They had scouts left in Lentax Giant City and Boss Bang City, making it difficult for troop movements to avoid detection, so they could easily obtain information on the Expeditionary Army’s movements through the scouts.

Zong Shen pretended to casually observe his surroundings while bending over with other farmers to prepare to pick up another piece of wood.

Zong Shen already had a preliminary understanding of the surrounding situation, pondering how to quickly collect all the secret silver and then use the Floating Technique to fly away.

The main ranged forces around were the Calamity Mages and the Heavy Armored Shooters.

Most of the Calamity Mages were busy with the construction of the high tower, so there was no need to worry about them. However, the Believer Shooters were more troublesome, occupying most of the vantage points and rooftops in the village. If he tried to escape using the Floating Technique, he might be intercepted.

While lifting the wood, Zong Shen considered his options.

At this moment, an elder in a red cloak riding a black Scale Armor Horse hurried in from outside the village. He wore a Raven Pendant on his chest, and his robe was embroidered with a pattern of ravens in flight using black thread, indicating that this old fellow was definitely a high-ranking member of the church just by looking at the material of his clothes.

Compared to the heavy Shire Horse, the Scale Armor Horse was not tall, but it had a thin layer of scale armor on its neck and abdomen, providing decent defense even without being armored.

Moreover, its speed, endurance, and armor exceeded those of the Grassland Horse, making it a rare breed favored by the nobles, with each horse costing over ten thousand Universal Dinar.

The elder rode the Scale Armor Horse directly to the Saintess, dismounted, and performed a simple gesture by single-handedly passing over his forehead.

”Dear Shafuri, you must go to the Burial Ground. There has been a situation with the magic array there, and we have disturbed the Undead...”

”Now we need you to provide more Holy Blood to inject into the magic array...”

”Additionally, we need more manpower, especially villagers.”

”Not long ago, several unknown forces attacked our magic array at the Burial Ground, causing damage and creating a breach in the suppression of the Burial Ground.”

”Although those unknown forces were quickly repelled by our warriors, and we even killed some of them, they also abducted dozens of villagers responsible for building the altar, leaving us severely short-handed.”

The elder spoke hurriedly, as they had not expected there to be unknown forces in the vicinity, which was outside the scope of their previous intelligence.

”Unknown forces?”

”Elder McGuire, where did those forces come from?”

The Calamity Raven Saintess, known as Shafuri, frowned and began to inquire about the situation.

”The leaders are three people, and their warriors are mostly wolf riders from the long-gone Desolate Wolf Tribe, along with soldiers from the Avalon Series and some mages, it’s like a big medley.”

”These guys are cunning, they don’t fight us head-on but instead have their mages and shooters harass us. When we send people to pursue, they swoop in and abduct the farmers.”

”Guarding the magic array is only a team of Giant Power Knights, unable to pursue everyone, ultimately only three wolf riders were dealt with.”

”However, we have found their temporary bases, which are a few simple settlements protected by arrow towers.”

”I request you to allocate twenty heavy armored shooters, twenty Great Halberd Warriors, two teams of Giant Power Knights, and a team of Calamity Mages, to be led by me to eradicate these unknown forces. The church’s honor cannot be desecrated.”

The elder bowed his head to request, knowing his status was still lower than that of the saintess.

Shafuri nodded, her beautiful eyebrows slightly furrowed.

”Elder McGuire, lead the warriors to clean up those unknown forces. I will now lead a batch of villagers to the Burial Ground.”

Having said that, she turned around and began recruiting personnel on the spot from the farmers here.

The church elder named McGuire took the order and returned to mount the scale armor horse to recruit personnel in the village.

At this time, Zong Shen stood holding a piece of wood in place, moving not an inch no matter how the villagers on the opposite side moved.

”My my, there sure are many people daring enough!”

”Starting to fleece the Calamity Raven Church already.”

He marveled in his heart, naturally aware that the unknown force attacking the Burial Ground’s magic array, mentioned by Elder McGuire, was full of lords.

This place is a big fat piece of meat, many are eyeing it.

Everyone hopes to gain some benefit from the conflicts of the indigenous people.

However, the risk of such matters is indeed not small. What awaits these lords will be retaliatory attacks from the Calamity Raven Church.

The Burrow Challenge only affects lords’ actions towards the indigenous forces, not influencing them at all. Any trace of escape by the lords is easily spotted as they cannot hide in the wild, exposing their territory becomes inevitable.

With Burrow Monsters and the Calamity Raven Church joining forces to attack, the current majority of territories are unable to withstand it.

At this moment, Saintess Shafuri was on the other side gathering farmers at the place where materials were stacked. No one was paying attention to Zong Shen here, with only two or three Great Halberd Warriors around.

The duration of the [Transformation Potion] was still four to five minutes, Zong Shen decisively dropped the piece of wood, quickly took out jewelry and the [Tiroka’s Bear Armor], and quickly changed clothes.

Then taking two steps and three steps to the area where the secret silver pillars were stacked, he stored them all in the storage grid.

”Enemy attack! Prepare for defense!”

The loud shout of the Great Halberd Warrior echoed around.

In an instant, chaos ensued here, and Saintess Shafuri hurried back upon hearing the commotion.

Zong Shen didn’t look back and activated the floating technique, a light magic power surrounded him.

With a thought, he rose into the air, quickly ascending.

The Great Halberd Warriors rushing in were left empty-handed, and those heavy armored shooters began drawing bows and arrows, while the mages in the high tower started chanting.

Zong Shen took out a Silver Battle Shield and placed it diagonally below him.

Quickly floating to a height of fifty to sixty meters.

As he prepared to float away, suddenly a cold chain entangled his foot, preventing him from flying away.

”Bang! Bang! Bang!”

One powerful arrow after another struck his battle shield.

Looking down, Zong Shen found that the chain was thrown by Saintess Shafuri, a magical one, extremely cold, making Zong Shen feel like his leg would freeze.

Now he couldn’t delay, as the magic and arrows would only become denser, he would absolutely be riddled with holes. Zong Shen paused only briefly and decisively used the [Shadow Talisman] skill, creating shadow clones, with five clones appearing in place, and his true self going into stealth. However, the chain still existed, so it was of little use, only slightly confusing others’ sight.

He didn’t know how long this chain would last, but he knew he couldn’t linger here any longer.

He began to use brute force, leveraging the floating technique’s power, forcefully ascending, even bringing Saintess Shafuri with him into the sky, as nearby Giant Power Knights and Great Halberd Warriors tried to help pull her back, but it was a step too late.

Shafuri decisively let go, the chain disappeared instantly, and she landed smoothly on the ground.

While Zong Shen, in stealth state, flew directly away from Odu Village.
