Global Lords: I Have Information System

Chapter 223: Chapter 218: Medina, Light Chaser Legion

Zong Shen’s team was like a pack of hungry wolves, steadfastly advancing towards their target, tearing apart every enemy in their path.

The burrow monsters, which filled other lords with fear and headaches, were nothing more than lambs waiting to be slaughtered for Zong Shen. Although the tight lifestyle sometimes made Zong Shen feel a bit fatigued, this world’s life was much more exciting for him than it was on Earth.

It filled him with energy every day, eagerly anticipating the arrival of a new day, continuously building his territory and strengthening himself. Almost every day, he was stronger than the day before, and so was his territory, which changed every day.

Apart from surviving and continuously growing stronger, there were no other flashy things to bind him. This sense of achievement and the exhilarating feeling of freedom were hard to experience in his previous life.

Fighting their way forward, Zong Shen used the opportunity of hunting burrow monsters to constantly hone his combat skills, and now he always kept several sets of weapons at hand.

There was the shield and sword combination of [Silver Battle Shield] + [Avalon Guard Battle Sword].

He also had the single-blade brutal combination of wielding the [Broken Dragon-Slaying Heavy Sword].

And now, like this, with a dual-wielding big saber meat grinder combination.

Facts proved that no amount of doctrine or martial arts could compare to the tempering of real combat. With each swing of the blade, Zong Shen also felt the best angles and strength for striking, understanding how each posture change of the monsters affected attacks, constantly adjusting and optimizing his moves.

Gradually turning the most efficient killing moves into his instincts, Zong Shen even entered a certain mystical state of immersion in the slaughter.

As they advanced and eliminated the burrow monsters along the way, three hours later, they finally passed through the small forest where they had killed the bear monster before. From there, only about twenty to thirty minutes’ journey remained to Jiang Yi’s territory.

They had killed over a thousand burrow monsters and gained 2735 points. Now it was a little after nine in the morning. Since yesterday noon’s points exchange, Zong Shen now had over 15000 points. The efficiency of acquiring points was also continually increasing as his and his territory’s strength grew.

Marie’s level had changed to lv14 [Experience Value 2565/9060], needing more than 6000 experience to level up to 15. This rate of improvement was fast, but the experience required would only increase the further she progressed.

Zong Shen had not yet allocated points for Marie. He planned to ask for her opinion after today ended and then decide on her point allocation direction. Taking her out to hunt burrow monsters and increasing her level was also a test for her.

Zong Shen wanted to see what choice Marie would make after experiencing battle.

In the course of these few hours, Marie underwent considerable changes; more accurately, she became more adapted. From initial fear and disgust to later being willing to try attacking with the [Hunting Crossbow].

For Zong Shen, this was already a very good change. It showed that Marie’s adaptability and mindset were pretty good, and with good guidance, she might have the chance to become a leading hero in the territory.

Just then, a new swarm of burrow monsters appeared ahead. Zong Shen, without hesitation, raised his swords and charged. With the thunderous swing of his two big sabers, the killing resumed!

...

Meanwhile, in Jiang Yi’s territory, a blonde man riding a grassland horse led a team of wolf cavalry and several mages and rangers who were also mounted.

From the standard equipment on the mages, it was apparent that two were Fire Mages. Their magic robes bore red flame runes similar to those of Favide before, and they held the same kind of ruby staff.

Besides the two Fire Mages, there was also another mage wearing an earth-yellow magic robe, depicting a rune pattern of a floating continent, seemingly an Earth Mage.

Such a lineup was definitely luxurious among lords, and it was evident he had pushed through the wandering burrow monsters from his territory to get here.

Being able to lead a team on an expedition like Zong Shen, traversing land filled with monsters, was enough to demonstrate this guy’s strength. Since going out also required leaving some soldiers to guard the territory, this guy had at least twenty to thirty soldiers.

He was definitely among the most outstanding of the remaining seven to eight thousand lords in this area.

It should be noted that Zong Shen’s total number of soldiers was only seventy-two. His development pace and combat progression were already the fastest he could achieve.

This blonde man could have twenty to thirty soldiers, and there must certainly be significant fortuity involved.

Given the vastness of the world with countless wonders and this continent filled with ancient legends and relics from the previous era, Zong Shen never doubted the presence of lucky ones who could rapidly develop.

Riding a grassland horse, the blonde man wasn’t exactly handsome, a typical European appearance.

He had light blue eyes and golden-brown hair, his nose resembling a hawk’s beak, lending his temperament some gloominess. Apart from that, his overall appearance was rather ordinary.

Accompanied by soldiers, he stood in Jiang Yi’s territory, not far behind her, watching events unfold at a leisurely pace.

As for Jiang Yi, she was leading her soldiers in frontline combat against the burrow monsters. Her soldier count had increased by two or three from a couple of days ago, reaching a total of seventeen.

Currently, seven or eight soldiers fought alongside her, while other soldiers were on rotational breaks.

The Water Mage and Gun and Shield Warrior Recruitment Scrolls distributed on Lake Heart Island had already been used by her, especially the Gun and Shield Warrior bravely holding a shield at the frontline, impressively formidable.

The entire territory was outlined by two semicircles of chevaux-de-frise implemented by Jiang Yi. Her territory backed onto a small forest, and with minor improvements, the forest at the back formed an excellent natural defense line.

She left a two to three-meter entrance in the outer chevaux-de-frise, and she and her soldiers stood at the entrance, attracting the burrow monsters’ aggro, ensuring they all attacked from this gap.

Jiang Yi was entirely unconcerned about the plague zone, merely instructing the farmers to hide away in the small courtyard.

Based on their own constitution and that of their warriors, theoretically, this basic plague zone cannot infect them.

This plague zone poses the greatest threat to farmers.

In her territory, the number of Elemental Arrow Towers has increased from one to four, and even though they are all Tier 1 Elemental Arrow Towers, they’ve elevated the territory’s defense capabilities by a level.

Clearly, those three towers must have been exchanged by Jiang Yi using points. For a lord of her strength level, obtaining one to two thousand points in the first few days is quite normal.

All lords have their strength somewhat enhanced after points exchange, hence the efficiency of acquiring points varies in its improvement now.

Jiang Yi is leading her subordinates in continuously killing those Burrow Monsters.

After twenty to thirty minutes have passed, Jiang Yi, wielding the Goblin Long Saber she traded from Zong Shen, chops the head off the last zombie among the monsters besieging the territory.

At this moment, the blonde-haired man who had been watching the show not far behind her finally spoke.

”Dear Jiang, have you made up your mind?”

”Just join my Light Chaser Legion, and I will dispatch soldiers to assist you.”

His voice was somewhat low, heavy but not loud, and no emotion could be discerned from the tone.

Upon hearing this, Jiang Yi flings away the slime on the blade and strides towards the blonde-haired man.

Her face is full of fatigue, her eyes somewhat dim, evident that she hadn’t had a proper rest over the past two to three days.

This is the common state of ordinary lords, let alone those like Jiang Yi who are ambitious. Back then during the newbie stage, Jiang Yi would proactively hunt beast packs during the night’s boiling state, and she definitely won’t give up on hunting monsters during the Burrow Challenge now to earn points.

This is the typical diligent lord, relying entirely on ”effort,” preferring to burn out rather than miss any opportunity for gain.

She arrives in front of the blonde-haired man, planting the Long Saber into the ground.

”Lord Medina, I’ve already told you, there’s another powerful lord near here.”

”His strength is enough to handle powerful commander-level monsters, and his territory is the fastest developing one I’ve seen. I think you should first consult his opinion.”

”Before that, I don’t want to make any decisions. According to the Legion’s rules, once you quit, rejoining requires a month-long cooldown.”

”My territory is located between his and your power range. Until I get his intent, I’ll temporarily not consider joining any Legion.”

”I apologize, Lord Medina...”

Jiang Yi responded calmly.

Lords address each other respectfully as ”Lord.”

After hearing her answer, the blonde-haired man, whom she politely addressed as Lord Medina, revealed a faint smile. The Grassland Horse beneath him snorted, making the atmosphere somewhat strange.

Medina shook his head calmly.

”Dear Jiang, it seems you favor the other lord more than you favor me.”

”We’ve come to this unfamiliar world, every choice could potentially be the one that decides fate.”

”As you wish, I will go visit the lord you mentioned.”

”Also, I think you’re in trouble.”

Medina spoke calmly, pointing to the large Burrow Monster Swarm gradually approaching not far from the territory.

This monster swarm was about six to seven hundred strong, far beyond the scope of the usual one to two hundred swarms.

It was a dense patch, although not equal to a thousand-strong large swarm, but the size of this Burrow Monster Swarm already exceeded Jiang Yi’s limit of endurance.

”Damn, this swarm’s quantity is too vast.”

”All gather, prepare for battle!”

Jiang Yi raised her eyebrow, shouted sharply as she faced a formidable enemy, awakening the resting soldiers.

Facing such a scale of monster swarm, she can only go all out to confront it; even so, there’s still a great risk of casualties, as the quantity ratio difference is simply too vast!
